When I booked this resort, I was a little worried because it was not "in town."  This place was perfect. The staff, from check in, to restaurant, bar, housekeeping, and beach, were amazing. Omar, Nelsy, Emry, Amelia, Vincent, & Jessica made our stay extra special. The food was delicious with multiple options and a nightly special. We rented a golf cart for the afternoon directly from the front desk, and we took the waterfall excursion. We originally had a one bedroom ocean view standard, and it worked, but we upgraded to the one bedroom ocean front suite. Rooms were clean and the suite was very spacious. Our views were amazing from both rooms. We had a nice relaxing week. My husband and I stayed here at the end of January beginning of February.

This is absolutely the best most personal resort in all of Placencia. The staff is attentive, the room count is small and the entire experience is five star across the board. If you're looking for comfortable relaxed, delicious and warm you cannot do better than Laru Beya. Just 5 minutes from the airport and conveniently located between a couple of small villages with ample opportunities for local shopping and tasting of the local fair. This was without a doubt the best vacation my wife and I have ever been on in 34 years together. The staff at the resort were hands down the best we've ever experienced. When you get there make sure to go to the bar and ask for a Pina Colada, you'll be glad you did.

First time in Belize and the Laru Beya. We usually stay at large resorts with a gym and a few restaurants so there was some trepidation to book this, so glad we did! Website looked beautiful; it did not disappoint. Aside from some signs of age that need to be addressed, entire property is well maintained and clean. Ocean front suites are the best! Mildred the GM is so sweet and helpful along with the below listed staff thanks for creating an amazing experience making us want to come back: Gilda & Sharon: So pleasant from booking on through arrival. Hailie & Doni: From your greetings at the front desk to helping us get transportation. Alex: Ordering that almond butter and everything else you did. Servers: Jordy, Emilia and Jessica genuinely care about making each meal an experience. Last but not least, Head Chef Sandy: Not enough words can express my heartfelt thanks for your special attention to my minor food allergies and keeping me healthy and full for the entire week! Hubby who is able to eat everything loved all your meals! If I may suggest 1)An espresso maker either in each room or the restaurant as the removable lids and containers of coffee and sugar are not very sanitary. 2)Instead of the "do not disturb" placed right on the door jam, either make a horizontal sign or place a nail in the center of the door so it can be hung. We will be back to this lovely piece of paradise!

We had an amazing time at Laru Beya. Great facility and location. The most important thing was the staff. The staff was amazing, keeping the resort clean and organized and with a lot of attention to detail. We were very impressed with the restaurant staff, that took care of us each day. We need to call out Nelsey, Omar, and Jessica, who were great. They all spent time getting to know us and making our stay great. It is so nice to see smiles on their faces each day and from all of the staff. We had a great vacation.

Wow! Where do we begin? My husband and I enjoyed our honeymoon and babymoon here at Laru Beya after scouting some local resorts on Planencia. We are so happy we made the choice to stay at Laru Beya! We opted for the All Inclusive option. The Grounds Laru Beya has beautiful grounds - it is well-kept and when entering the resort area has a nice landscape of tropical trees and bushes, allowing for that feeling of seclusion and like you are nestled in an area of paradise. The beach was pristine, beautiful white sands and when the water is calm, you get those crystal blue waters that are so desired in the Caribbean. The staff was always working hard during the early mornings to rake the beach area and ensure cushions were available for guests to lounge by the beach or pool. The Restaurant We were really excited for this one pre-trip due to the Quarterdeck Restaurant reviews - and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! My husband and I do not typically take pictures of any meal, but with every dish we needed to pull out our phones to encapsulate the delicious food that laid before us. A feast not only for the eyes but for the mouth! Many compliments to the chef(s) were given and rightfully so. Fresh, local ingredients, and a daily special to switch things up for dinnertime should you have a longer stay at Laru Beya. The bar and drinks were also top notch - my personal favourite were the fresh and healthy mocktails available. Mmmm! The Room We had an Oceanfront 1 Bedroom Suite which boasted spectacular views of the ocean, pool and restaurant. The hammock provided truly invites you to relax and take things slow - a great way to unwind while drinking in the tropical views and ocean breeze. The balcony itself was huge and was our favourite spot to enjoy our morning coffee while listening to the rhythmic waves of the sea. The size of the room was ample, including the bathroom, and the kitchen did not disappoint, inclusive of a gas stove. The furniture was comfortable and most importantly, the bed was one of my favourite things about this resort as it felt like we were sleeping on a cloud. 2 AC units were provided and we mostly had only 1 on during our entire stay. Add-Ons We purchased the Honeymoon add-on and the staff ensured to reschedule our dinner on the beach to a day where the weather would be perfect. A special shout out to Omar for our special dinner - it was so lovely and a moment we will never forget. The golf carts available for rent at the front desk was a great convenience - we ended up renting one multiple times throughout our stay. Laru Beya is located a quick drive from local stores and the Placencia Boardwalk (a must for first-time visitors!). The Staff Saving the best for last here - the staff really made our stay what it was. From the moment we were picked up at Maya Airport to the moment we were dropped off - the staff were exceptional. Not only are the staff very friendly and courteous, but they truly care about their guests and the attention to detail is next to none. A special shoutout to the staff we had the absolute pleasure of meeting (we apologize for any incorrect spelling!) - you were all exceptional and we can't thank you enough: - Hailey and Doni from the Front Desk - Izzy, Steven and Dennis - Helio - Emilia, Omar, Jordy, Nelsy, Jessica - Yoni, Emry and Marizia - Celine

What a week at this amazing resort! We can't say enough about this resort. We booked directly wih the resort and selected the all inclusive option. This included meals, local beverages (alcohol) and transportation from Belize City. Once we booked our air, we gave them the flight info and they arranged our flights on Maya Air to Placencia. Super convenient! We booked an oceanfront 1 bedroom suite. We were steps away from the ocean. (Room j201). The suite is super clean and huge! And what a view! The resort has a restaurant and small bar area. We read reviews that spoke against booking an AI here, that you should try the local cuisine. Their restaurant includes local selections. The food was out of this world! We were actually thankful that the resort had a restaurant as it rained almost every day so it was nice we didn't have to go out. The staff-OMG! They are the reason this resort is so amazing! They truly care about the guests! They all knew our names after the first day. A big thank you to all of them for making our stay so wonderful! We stayed all over Caribbean and in many 5 star resorts and by far this is one of the best resorts we've been too. It's small and quiet so if you're looking for a party atomoshere, this isn't the place for you. Totol relaxation. For tours, we used Black Jaguar Tours that the resort helped arrange. It's a small local business and like this resort, is all about customer service. Highly recommend!!! Thank you to everyone at Laru Beya for a wonderful vacation!

This is a beautiful resort. Both the food and the service are excellent. The chef (Sandy) went above and beyond because of my dietary restrictions. Everyone goes out of their way to make sure you have what you want/need. Being a small resort really made my wife and I feel more like a guest instead of the large resorts where we felt like a number. The restaurant staff refer to you by name. The chef comes out to talk with you, occasionally. The bartenders make drinks the way you request (shaken not stirred). It is really a great place to stay. Plenty of excursion options, too. We did four.

Great couples getaway location! The service was excellent! Shoutout to the staff members: Jordy, Yoni, Nelsie, Jessica, Hailey, Dennis and Mildred. You all made our stay a wonderful one, felt right at home. We also booked a massage and it was wonderful, apologies that I forgot the therapist name (starts with M?). The meals were all quite good, beverages too. We used the hobbie cat with Dennis which was very nice (his energy is contageous!) and rented a golf cart to explore the peninsula. The room was always clean and decorated. We chose an all inclusive package, recommended! This was their low season and we were there to relax, certainly did the trick! Muchas gracias a todos.

This resort is the perfect place to stay with visiting Placencia. The resort is beautiful and clean. The food is amazing. The true stars of the resort are the staff. Vincent picked up from the airport. He is a very nice man who is a gem to talk with. Doni greeted us upon arrival and made the check in a breeze. Eddie greeted with our welcome drink and took care of us at meal times. He is was very informative about the village and we enjoyed talking with him. Dennis took us out on the little sailboat one day and showed out coral reefs and even taught my husband how to sail. Jessica, Nelesy and Emela took care of us at meals and there are truly incredible ladies. I enjoyed talking with them and getting to know them and learn about their lives. It felt like I had known them all my life. I will truly miss talking with them. Georgie, Rudy, Evertte and Yoni also took care of us and they were all amazing people. The staff at Laru Beya go above and beyond to make you feel like family. I can't wait to come back next year.

Your staffs professionalism and attention to detail from the welcoming hostess to the attentive waitstaff reflect the coordination within your team. From the attentiveness of the Quarter Deck staff (Jessica, Nelsy, Jordy, Emory, Emelia, Eddie) to the executive chef's menu creation and kitchen crew's detailed execution to the front desk's warm reception of us and eagerness to assist (Hailey, Donnie) to the clockwork...

Our experience at Laru Beya was absolute perfection. From the attentiveness of the Quarter Deck staff (Jessica, Nelsy, Jordy, Emory, Emelia, Eddie) to the executive chef's menu creation and kitchen crew's detailed execution to the front desk's warm reception of us and eagerness to assist (Hailey, Donnie) to the clockwork cleanliness of the housekeeping staff to the beautifully manicured gardens carefully crafted and cared for by Vincent, we would not have changed one moment of our stay. The location to town and to Sein Bight Village is perfect for those wanting to explore the local scene. The front desk arranged a snorkeling tour and a Mayan chocolate-making tour at our request that were both excellent. The rooms are very clean and spacious. Kayaks and paddle boards were a favorite of ours as a daily workout and for recreation. The pool is the center of the resort and provides amazing views, as well as a wonderful social spot to make friends with other guests. We have not one complaint and have already started plans for our next vacation to Laru Beya.

Oceanfront room with shady porch and warm breeze. Daily afternoon swim in refreshing pool. Meals were cooked fresh and great Belize flavors. The hotel staff was friendly, helpful and made the stay great. Could not be more relaxing. Can't wait to go back.
