The soaking was amazing! One of the most relaxing things we’ve ever done! Beautiful view and plenty of privacy. The buildings had a little age on them but were updated and very clean. The bed was just right. Air conditioner worked well. It had a microwave and small refrigerator. Also, a small coffee pot was there but we couldn’t find any coffee! The property has some very nice outdoor space. We would definitely return.

I had originally booked for the evening we arrived to town and unfortunately we got stuck in really bad traffic during our trek into the mountains and missed the appointment time. The owner was super accommodating and allowed us to change our booking time to later in our trip so we didn't miss out on the experience. I am so glad she had availability to do that because the experience was once in a lifetime and the view from our tub was GORGEOUS and filled with fall colors!
I booked the soaking cabana as a surprise for my husband and he was so impressed and has been raving about how beautiful and relaxing it was since. The cabana was clean and had fresh water for us to drink. The bath salts smelled so good we ended up buying a container after to take home! The body creme was also skin-friendly and moisturizing. We both have sensitive skin and you could tell the creme was high quality and it smelled really good.
I would recommend this experience to anyone visiting the area!

We were really looking forward to this nn because of recommendation plus what we saw on the website. The location is great but the buildings need a tremendous amount of repair and updating. As soon as we walked in to our suite, we could smell the mold. In an attempt to get fresh air in, I struggled to push open the windows which were rusted shut. I was finally able to open a couple of windows as you can see from the photo. The electrical wiring was also of concern. See the numerous cords plugged in. The smoke alarm went on while I was boiling hot water. The portable electric heater which was near the kitchen had just been turned off. But it must have been the combination that set off the alarm. Once we removed the kettle and my husband fanned the air, the alarm stopped. I was surprised no one from the Inn came to investigate. There was also old electrical equipment. I realize it is costly to update infrastructure but I think basic repairs are needed. I did speak to another guest and she said they also had the mold smell. The housekeeper did do an excellent job of keeping the suite clean. The bed linens were fresh and the floors were very clean. The same with the kitchen equipment.
We did not use the soaking tubs. Perhaps wherever they were located was in better shape.

We wanted a quiet no children place near the Smokies and Parkway. We certainly got it. Teisa excellent host. So clean and comfortable. Loved the soaker too. Highly recommended. And we are fussy. Thank you for being a great host and providing an excellent experience 😊
This is a beautiful, serene, AMAZING place to stay. My hubby did not want to do a soak, but I booked one anyway - based on other reviews, and it did NOT disappoint! Add this experience to your bucket list! We can't wait to return!
A Disappointing Experience

My husband and I wanted to ride the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad in Bryson City, so we looked for a place to stay nearby. From the website, Lakeview at Fontana looked wonderful. In reality, it was pretty bad.
Upon arriving, there is no one to greet you. Everything is done by text and your room is left open with the key hanging by the door. I will say that the room was nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable, but there was no closet or hooks to hang your coats and clothes and only three lamps which was not enough lighting to even read by at night. There is no TV and internet/phone was spotty.
The thing that bothered me the most was how unsafe the walkways and stairwells are. All of the guests we saw were older (we are in our 70s) and to have stairwells with no railings and access to the rooms where you had to climb over broken cinderblocks and an open gas line are dangerous. They really need do some updating and repair work.
The soaking tub cabanas were unusable while we were there since they are open to the outside and it was cold and windy. There is no breakfast provided (hooray for the close-by Ingles where we bought groceries to make our own breakfast). There was no yoga in the mornings. There was no wine and cheese at 5 p.m. as had been advertised. The lounge is dark and there is no one there to sell drinks or snacks although there was a cooler with sodas and water available on the "honor system."
All in all, it was a very disappointing stay. We ended up leaving two days early, forfeiting our money because there was nothing to do at the "resort" and it was so cold and windy we couldn't hike or do outside activities. They really need to update their website and be more honest about what is and isn't available. It is certainly not a "boutique spa" as they advertise. We won't go back.
P.S. The train ride was wonderful and really salvaged our trip for us!

This should definitely not be called a boutique spa! It is a refurbished motor court that needs a lot more refurbishing! Our room had no decorations on the walls and it was unimpressive. No closets and the kitchen cabinets are for decoration only... you can't open them. You'd expect the bathroom to be nice for a spa experience, but it was old and dirty looking. The pool was closed when we went to check it out, but it had no view, also looked dingy and the area around it is overgrown. Breakfast was sugary pastries that looked like they came from a big box store. You can buy a Jimmy Dean frozen sandwich if you want a savory breakfast. Most of the pictures online are from the wifi cafe and the cabana soaking tubs. The soak was great... But you can book this without being an overnight guest. You are told that the cabana is very private, but you can see from my photos that one of them was directly up and across from our room. We could hear everything... We wore bathing suits.

This place is one-of-a-kind. The blend of nature and luxury is the perfect recipe for relaxation. We stayed in the king suite. If you’re looking for a modern day hotel, forget it - this place is special. We hiked, rafted the river, swam in the pool and lounged in the hammock chairs. They even had a fire pit that we very much enjoyed one night. I loved the old world charm and nostalgic feel of the inn and the grounds with all the cozy cottages. The soaking cabana is nothing short of MAGIC. I did not want to leave! The worst part of the trip was only staying for 3 days… next time we will book a week!!
