Perfect location, extremely comfortable room and friendly staff and service. Convenient parking and wonderful breakfast. A memorable New Year’s Eve. Combination of quality, convenience and value can’t be beat in downtown Charleston. Can’t imagine a better find.

The main reason to stay here is the location as it is convenient to most Charleston activities and good restaurants. Also they have convenient parking However the property is older and is showing its age and needs some maintenance and cleaning. Our shower had black mold. I was disappointed they only served a continental breakfast. I would recommend they do away with the cheap wine and apps they serve at happy hour and cheap sherry in evening and spend the money on a better breakfast. Our room faced King Street and was always bright making sleep difficult The curtains and shades were too small and did not block out the light. They need blackout curtains.

This hotel is beautifully appointed and ideally located, making it a wonderful choice for exploring the area. Its central position allowed us to easily walk to attractions, dining, and shopping, which was especially convenient during the Home and Garden Festival. We were fortunate to secure tickets for two full tours, and being able to walk to everything added to the experience. One of the reasons I chose this hotel was the parking availability behind the property. While I did encounter an issue with the parking pass provided, the attendant on the gate’s phone line was responsive and quickly resolved the issue. It was a minor inconvenience but worth noting. The room itself was very nice, and I appreciated the thoughtful touch of the evening cheese and wine offering. However, the continental breakfast fell a bit short of expectations. While the pastries were fine, the process of ordering and waiting felt unnecessarily long, especially for something so simple. A buffet-style breakfast would be a more practical option. Despite these minor inconveniences, I would happily return to this hotel. Its beauty, excellent location, and overall charm make it a lovely place to stay.

Wonderful place to stay! The weather was sooo cold so we enjoyed the fireplace in our room. The breakfast delivered to our room was a treat. Wine and cheese was nice. We had been there some time ago and weren’t disappointed. We had a wonderful visit and will return.

What a gem this place is!! So rich with history! We booked a room at a cheap hotel and once we got to our room, we quickly realized our mistake. We left that place and drove straight to Kings Courtyard! I had seen this place online but being from the opposite coast, I really wasn’t sure we wanted to stay “downtown”. We knew nothing about Charleston. It was late when we arrived and James and his glorious beard greeted us with a smile and were happy to offer us the last available queen room! The room was spotless! Smelled clean! Bed was very comfortable! We enjoyed the wine & cheese reception and continental breakfast. We were able to walk all over right from the hotel! We walked to Rainbow Row, Pineapple Fountain, The City Market, toured some churches, ate some delicious food! We cannot wait to go back to Charleston and we will definitely be staying at Kings Courtyard again!

Very nice hotel - clean, nicely appointed, convenient location + parking, friendly & helpful staff. Good breakfast - servers are exceptional. Afternoon wine + cheese an added bonus. Highly recommend staying there when visiting Charleston.

While traveling home from a vacation on Kiawah Island, we experienced a problem with our car that required an unexpected one night stay in Charleston. It was around 9 a.m. when we realized that we needed to find a place to spend the day and night while waiting for a part to be delivered to the car dealership. Because my husband and I had previously stayed at the beautiful John Rutledge House, a sister property to Kings Courtyard Inn, I called Kings Courtyard Inn and explained our plight to front desk clerk, Zack. Zack allowed us to check in early to a beautiful deluxe king room on the 3rd floor. The historic hotel is beautifully maintained and quite charming. The room was clean and nicely appointed. But the absolute best part of our stay was Zack and his excellent customer service, which included dining recommendations as well. Thanks again, Zack!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Kings Courtyard Inn in historic Charleston. The Inn was surprising quiet and laid back considering the location on bustling King Street. We were close to many excellent restaurants, within walking distance of many attractions and near the bus stop. Our room was modest but comfortable. The bathroom was a highlight given its spacious countertop and large drawers for storing self care items. The breakfast was simple, but we enjoyed the option of eating in the breakfast room or having a tray delivered to our room. The highlight of our stay was the evening happy hour. We loved the hotel "sommelier," Ross, who kept us entertained with his excellent service and gracious sense of humor.

There is much to like about staying at the Kings Courtyard Inn! The location is central so walking to historical areas, restaurants and sites could not have been more convenient. Our room was spotless, the bed was fantastic, the room had ample storage space, extra pillows, plenty of outlets/usb ports, nice towels/soaps/shampoo all in a bright, cheerful room. Basic breakfast could be taken downstairs or delivered to your room. For room delivery a selection card is simply hung on the outside of your door the evening before and selecting a 30 minute delivery window. It was our experience to receive a call in the morning that our breakfast was on its way. Voila, 2 minutes later a knock on the door! The pastries were warm and the coffee was hot. Self parking is right on site. Easy in and out really added to the convenience. And now, the part of our particular experience that should not be overlooked…the staff is polished and friendly. We would not hesitate to stay here again!

Every single thing about this hotel is beyond belief wonderful. The building is historic and is charming in every way. The three fountains provide a wonderful atmosphere and our room’s high ceiling was incredible. Every member of the team works to ensure that their guests are comfortable and feel welcome especially throughout their evening wine and cheese tastings along with the sherry service The location is perfect for exploring the area and is also incredibly quiet. We couldn’t have imagined a better hotel for our first of many more visits to Charleston.

What a fantastic place to stay. Fireplace in the lobby. Also in my room. Wine and cheese in the evening. Location was perfect close to everything. Staff were friendly and helpful. Spotless rooms. Loved the fact this is historic hotel. Try it you’ll love it.
