We booked the Inn at Creek Street,New York Hotel because of all of the great reviews and the location which is definitely the only plus side to have stayed here.
Love the whole area ,the history and the story behind the creek Street buildings is very interesting. The hike in the back up the hill and the fish ladder all really beautiful. I have not one good thing to say other than the location about the New York hotel, steepest flight of rickety stairs that I've ever encountered in any hotel in my travels. Our room was the one pictured on their website looks somewhat large there, but in real life, it is an extremely tight bedroom. You are living out of your suitcases, as you only have the use of a small wardrobe that you can't really open all the way.
Our TV was also not working.Someone did come look at it and said they would be back but never did return
You are also, in that particular room, above the main entrance into the New York hotel, where someone decided to put a piano.
One morning someone kept playing twinkle twinkle little star over and over again. Also the café (enjoyable breakfast) that is underneath the hotel must have had some sort of private nightime party which now I understand maybe why they give you sets of earplugs on the night table, it is noisy. You are right on the main road also with lots of traffic ,definitely would not stay here again. Maybe in one of their other locations.
Enjoyed Ketchikan but was also surprised at how the town literally shut down after the cruise ships loaded up.

Not good! Inn at Creek Street operates more than one hotel building, both or all buildings are clustered near one another. My wife and I stayed one night at the end of our SE Alaska cruise. We were accommodated in what they call the New York Hotel. It is a 100-year-old building, with all rooms upstairs. Some people might like staying in a creaky old antique building with extremely steep stairs, dark wall paneling, sloping floors and a bathroom from the past. But we didn't. We never did master the TV controller(s), and it would have been nice if the room had had two comfortable chairs, instead of one uncomfortable wooden antique. The only good thing I can say about the room was that it was very clean. If you are dragging large suitcases as we were, think twice before booking the upstairs New York Hotel. Ask about their other options, maybe their other accommodations are good.

Great start to our Alaska vacation
The hotel is conveniently located near the main attractions and a little distance from the dockside. We stayed in a very clean and comfortable room in the main building.
The free pick-up and drop-off were very convenient.

We stayed at The New York for 3 nights prior to our UnCruise one wk trip and it was a great experience. Great location, clean, comfortable bed, had frig and coffee maker, and a toaster down the hall so we made toast in the morning with jam and had cereal and fresh fruit, perfect. They also gave us a coupon for a free coffee drink at the restaurant just below the rooms where I got a yummy latte! When we needed a ride to grocery store they were very accommodating and took us a couple other spots as well. Price very reasonable and we would stay again for sure! Thx for a great time.

First trip to Ketchikan. Booked here because of the historic nature of the properties operated by Inn at Creek Street: 100 year old building, centrally located on Creek Street, former Brothel "oh if the walls could talk". We stayed in the Star House for 3 nights. Comfortable room. Entrance was around back up a few stairs. Walkable to many restaurants, bars, shops, etc. We rented a car for 1 day so we could go out the road to the Totem Bight Park and the beach. The staff was friendly, Sarah picked us up from Airport Ferry and recommended several local spots.
Only "negative" was the room doesn't have black out curtains. Was bright all night from exterior lights. If you go in the summer, you may want a sleep mask. Not a negative for us, but no sink in bathroom, only sink was in the kitchen area.
We will be back!!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Inn on Creek Street! Our corner room had a view of both the harbor and the creek. It was so roomy we had a kitchen and a sitting area. The decor and amenities were thoughtfully picked and the bed was the comfiest one on an 18 days trip. Sara, the manager, was delightful and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We were even provided our own folder full of any information we might have had. We would have stayed longer if we could have, but I'm sure we will be back.

Quaint convenient lovely place to stay
Stay here. The seals entertain you off the private deck. The rooms are clean and newly renovated. The inn is conveniently located to excursions, stores and restaurants. The staff are beyond friendly. We felt like we walked into a Hallmark movie, the setting was so unreal.
