It's gotten a little pricey over the last couple of years (especially for off season visits like this) but OBX has gotten really expensive as a whole
Breakfast included, small comfortable pool, free bicycle rental and great walking along the shore.
Coming back next year for sure!

We enjoyed our recent 3-day stay. Our room (#30) was clean and well maintained. While we had a perfect view of the sound we did not get a chance to enjoy an evening sunset due to the cloudy and at times wet weather. The inn is well located. The Corolla historic area and lighthouse are nearby and several restaurants are just minutes away. A large supermarket and shopping areas with gift shops are a ten minute drive away. We had several casual dinners nearby and then a final dinner at an upscale restaurant in Duck.
The continental breakfast offered a good selection and the choices of eating indoors, on the deck or bringing it back to your room. The gentleman taking care of the breakfast area was friendly and helpful. I noticed that he opened the door for people who had their hands full each day and provided boxes to a few that were bringing food and coffee back to their rooms.
I highly recommend staying at the Inn at Corolla Light and look forward to returning.

We stayed at the Inn at Corolla Light over Thanksgiving 2023. We had one of their pet friendly rooms as we were traveling with our fur-baby. The room was absolutely lovely. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the outdoor deck for the spectacular sunsets. The location was very well located with shops, restaurants and the historic village/lighthouse all walkable. They had free loaner bikes which we did not use. The breakfast was a continental help yourself affair. Staff was warm, hospitable and provided a lot of great recommendations.

I don’t understand some of these negative reviews. No…this place is not fancy. It is a fairly large rustic/beach style Inn located directly on the Sound. Our pet friendly room (#26 Keepers Watch) was immaculate. Large, bright with a mini kitchenette, complete table/sofa, fireplace, 2 showers (one spa like and huge, one in a closet area with toilet), king bed, sliders to a shared Sound front deck with chairs to view the amazing sunset. The adjacent crushed shaded gravel walking trail is perfect for walking the dogs and it’s neat to view all the waterfowl in action. The inn offers the free use of bicycles. Parking lot has plenty of space to leave your car. Breakfast isn’t fancy but offers large selection: bagels, muffins, cereals, granola bars/pop tarts, instant oatmeal, juices and coffee. You can choose to eat inside or on the decks. Since it was the off-season, there were no water rentals on pier so it was very peaceful. We were with our fur babies— I took our dogs out after dark numerous times ….found the deck area/hallways very well lit and spider web free! We found the grounds very well maintained. The pine cones in the flowerbeds were clever and interesting. No regrets about choosing to stay here. Book direct for a discount and beaware that there is an extra $30 per dog per night fee but they tell you upfront.

Our room was dirty and run down, mold in bathroom, floors were sticky and dirty, outside cobwebs everywhere, air conditioning and fan plugged with dirt and dirty windows, unfriendly check-in person…positives, the sound view and the courtesy pass to to the resort amenities…not going back.

20 plus yrs ago my husband and dter and I had a lovely stay here so when my husband suggested a trip back to celebrate an anniversary I said Yes! I think we got one of the worst rooms there after having been promised a hold on another that didn’t materialize. The room we got had a painted- over breaker box making me think it was once a utility room. The furnishings were IMO not even beach boho vintage just old and mismatched. The worst ~~ the stained extra pillow, then more — the pilled-worn extra blanket, the stained dish towel, the worn towels, the sticking doors, the unlit hallway, the sleeper sofa that we sunk into when we sat on it, the smudged glass patio door. I felt like crying when we walked inside - we did all we could to spend as much time as possible out of this room. I love the property overall - great location w beautiful pool and accessibility to Corolla light resort and free bikes! Coffee w breakfast snacks and water was much appreciated. MY TIP when u book ask when was the room last renovated. Our expectations were too high

Let us check in one hour early. Once the sun went down we decided to take a walk out on the nice long deck they have. I heard a kid cry to his mom and mentioned spiders. I am not a fan of spiders so with one glance I noticed they were EVERYWHERE!!! Crawling under your feet, hanging from every inch of the railing. I made my husband ride me on his back, back to the hotel thinking we were safe. Oooommmgggg once I started looking they were crawling all above our heads and again, everywhere! I am not kidding. Got back to our room and there were 5 or 6 big long spiders hanging above our door walkway like 3 inches from our head. They were hanging everywhere! I felt like I was in that movie Arachnophobia. So we rush into the room again thinking, shew we are good now! Oh no! These long thin spiders were hanging in every corner. I have pictures and videos. What finally freaked me out was the spider crawling right behind me on my pillow. We called the night manager and he had an attitude on the phone. He comes to the room and when I open the door he was wiping them down off the door ledge and I thought I felt something on me so I lightly screamed and he got an attitude and said smartly “maam please! Welcome to nature!” This isn’t nature! I’m not in a tent outside. I paid $1300 to stay in a nice room for 3 nights. We have one of the nicest rooms and don’t even want to go on the balcony because there are live spiders all over the place and cobwebs everywhere. Honesty I cannot believe every review isn’t complaining about this. They act like this is normal and we are abnormal for not being happy about it. I’m not sure what we are going to do at this point. I feel trapped in my room and from what I hear on here, they won’t give refunds. Guess we are going to have to suck it up and make the best of it. We have 4 kids at home and were looking forward to a relaxing week and the spiders and bugs are not relaxing! I do not suggest for you to come here!

Obviously this inn is not a huge resort with tons of amenities but that's ok but this place needs a serious overhaul. The outside of the building a horrid mess. I have seen haunted Halloween houses that looked more inviting. There are spiders and cob webs all over. The area in-between the window and screen looked like a breeding ground for spiders. The overall room wasn't too bad. But the whole place just made us feel uneasy because it so unkept outside. The pool was dark and dreary with more webs over everything. Then there's the public activities pavilion on property. All day the inn is under siege by the general public. The inn must lease or rent out it's long pier to the area businesses that offer water sports to the public. There are three rooms adjacent to the pool and all day the walkway to the pier is like times square. People coming and going. We were forced into using this inn because we had to bring our small dog on the trip. All the people walking by all day caused our young dog to be hypersensitive to the commotion. She ended up barking even when we were in the room. We felt trapped in the room because if we went out and the commotion caused her to bark we didn't want to have a problem with management.
We ended up having to throw in the towel and cancel the vacation. We stayed only one night of 4 we had intended to stay. I asked the manager for some consideration because of the situation. I only asked for a refund on the last night. Rule are rules and they said no refund because of their policy. They didn't even off a refund of the 30 dollar a night charge for the dog.
Look if you want my advice pass on this place until they take a power washer to the whole place. I have stayed in numerous inn at Cape May and Nantucket. All were old and charming. This place needs soap and wire brush.
I find it amusing that in all the reviews the managers always reply to the review saying how they apologize and asking for another chance but really that's a reply to a review from an unhappy traveler that is already home so your apology is not sincere.
If you cared you would had LISTENED AND MADE IT RIGHT WHILE ON SITE.
