Just spent 5 nights here and very pleasantly surprised. The staff are all 100% bought in to delivering the best service. The atmosphere is adult and relaxed. Very pleased we chose this resort! The real upside to this resort on the shuttle service they run from the resort to the local area. All the cars are high end and the staff treat you like royalty. It's all in with the package so make sure you take full advantage of this service

Overall, we were very impressed with Hotel Wailea. We loved the ambiance and vibe of the hotel. We appreciated all the extra details and touches that made the stay so welcoming. The hotel grounds are also stunning and very well kept. The adults-only aspect is why we booked in the first place and would stay at the hotel again just based on that alone. My only criticism is that the fine dining left something to be desired. The breakfast was amazing. Otherwise, Hotel Wailea is a lovely hotel. Well done!

After recently experiencing three Hawaiian luxury properties, Hotel Wailea stands out as an extraordinary failure. The room featured visibly dirty, worn furniture and outdated decor reminiscent of the early 2000s. Basic functionality was compromised: continuously running toilet, non-working clothes steamer, and uncomfortable air conditioning aimed directly at the bed. The overcomplicated lighting system proved frustratingly difficult to operate. Dangerously insufficient pathway lighting caused my husband to fall during a pre-dawn walk to the gym, with staff displaying alarming incompetence in handling the incident. Dining proved equally disappointing - unremarkable, overpriced food lacking Hawaiian authenticity. Adding insult to injury, our "welcome gift" arrived as we were literally departing for the airport, oops, sorry! The staff appeared woefully undertrained and powerless to address concerns. This establishment has completely lost touch with contemporary luxury standards, explaining why discerning travelers, like me, choose Four Seasons (Lanai) or Ritz Carlton (Oahu) instead. Between safety hazards, dysfunctional amenities, poor timing, subpar service, underwhelming food, and dated accommodations, Hotel Wailea exemplifies how not to operate a luxury property.

Many fourplexes on a hill that is surrounded by residential homes and residential lots for sale. Apartment complex/condo look and vibe with well-manicured grounds. Very large elaborate central building with a restaurant, artificial waterfalls, lobby seating, large meeting room, etc. I few people used the restaurant, and I only saw staff in other parts of the building. One bedroom apartment like room with many steps was clean and serviced daily. Attached are pictures of our view from the room and the 11'x12' patio. Most folks chose self-parking for ease of coming and going making the self-park lot always full when returning from exploring. The valets would put beach chairs and umbrellas in our trunk for exploring, a benefit we liked. We thought the restaurant pretentious, not a good location for nearby restaurants. For the money, we regret not getting a suite at a hotel with a good beach.

The Hotel Wailea is a gorgeous boutique property with beautiful suites and exceptional service. The couples only concept creates a quiet, calm, peaceful environment. The grounds are stunning and so well maintained. We stayed in the Celebration suite which was beautiful as you can see in the photos below. We loved every minute of our stay and found that every attention to detail was made. The staff members were kind, thoughtful, and accommodating. The Birdcage is amazing. We loved going there to listen to the lovebirds and watch the sunset each night with friends. This was the perfect couple’s resort and the Hotel Wailea definitely deserves the 5 star rating. We hope to return and certainly recommend Hotel Wailea for your next trip to Maui!

I can’t recommend Hotel Wailea enough! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we had an absolutely spectacular stay. Everyone was friendly and accommodating and helpful. The hotel itself is magical. The suites are private and so well equipped and decorated beautifully. My husband loved the fact that he could ask for more cookies on demand. Sometimes it’s the little things. Being an adult only resort was the main attraction for us but once we arrived, we realized there was so much more to the resort that made it spectacular, including the pool, the restaurants, the gym and The Birdcage. Hotel Wailea did not disappoint us in the lease and we are already looking forward to our return.

The restaurant and the Birdcage offered exceptional offerings. The room we had was quiet, except for the babbling brook outside to issue a calming influence. We had an incredible stay at Hotel Wailea and would highly recommend it for couples. We were greeted with fresh leis, champagne, and macarons on our arrival. Our garden-view suite was spacious and equipped with a kitchenette stocked with cutlery and glasses. The bathroom had a generous soaking bath tub and open concept shower. Each evening, we returned to completed turndown service with locally-crafted chocolates. The suite was also refreshed daily with carafes of sparkling and flat water, sodas, and snacks. We never felt hungry during our stay! The hotel was prompt about refreshing our water and snacks when requested. The lushly landscaped grounds of the hotel were absolutely stunning, with waterfalls, koi ponds, and charming little bridges. Despite the hotel being full, it often felt like we had the place to ourselves, which added to the sense of serenity. Hotel Wailea is not on the beach, but the hotel has drivers who will escort you to any of the beaches in Wailea (and provide you with water, towels, beach chairs, and umbrellas). Also, the hotel has an arrangement with a business on Wailea Beach where the business will set up an umbrella and loungers for you--all included in the price of your stay! The swimming pool was stocked with sunscreen and after-sun gel, and there were always plenty of loungers available without needing to rush out early to claim a chair. There were a handful of cabanas that were free to claim and they rarely filled up. We also took advantage of the free morning fitness classes, including aerial yoga and stretching, which gave us a healthy start to each day. Fitness buffs should check out the open-air gym, which has a great view of the ocean. We had both breakfast and dinner at the Restaurant at Hotel Wailea. Breakfast was hearty and satisfying. The servers were warm and attentive. One of our favorite spots was the Birdcage restaurant—filled with twittering tropical birds and offering a romantic view of the sunset. The hotel provides a free car service with luxury vehicles like Range Rovers and a Mercedes electric car. The drivers were prompt, and pickup times were typically under five minutes. Being able to get around the Wailea area quickly and comfortably enhanced our trip experience. Overall, Hotel Wailea blends luxury, tranquility, and thoughtful service in all the right ways.

Highest level of service I’ve ever received at a hotel! The adults only boutique resort offers a serene relaxing property quietly tucked away on hill yet close enough to the action for those who want it. We used the complimentary car service often and were always welcomed back by hotel staff with a smile. House keeping went above and beyond to make sure our room was tidy, and they always found a way to not let us see when they were trying to access the room. The pool along with the staff were incredible , I can’t say enough great things- even before our arrival Shannan helped plan some excursions and on site bookings (thank you). Service at its finest!

The much vaunted Hotel Wailea had come strongly recommended by our travel agency but, unfortunately, felt like a bit of a fading star. Whilst the grounds are undoubtedly stunning, the Publicity department seem to be doing a better job than the on-site management. According to the Hotel Policy page on the website, daily resort fee included a champagne toast on arrival. When we enquired why this hadn’t been offered, we were advised it stopped in July. We suggested they might want to update their website. Similarly, the previously discussed complimentary in-room snacks appear to have also disappeared. The complimentary soda continues - for the time being. The king ocean view room felt sparse, tired and dated - worn leather coffee table and headboard, drawers that stuck and wouldn’t open/close and a tiled floor that quickly turned my white sports socks black. However, the real issue came with dining and beverage provision. The open seating pool area closes at 5pm and, after that, without reservations for either the Birdcage or Restaurant Wailea, there is no spontaneous or open seating dining/beverage facility. We enquired about pre-dinner cocktails before eating in their restaurant and were advised this would not be possible as the Birdcage was fully committed until after our dinner reservation started. It was suggested we could either enjoy cocktails in our room or make use of the house car service to visit another property for a drink before returning to the hotel for dinner. Really?! I fully appreciate the need to make dinner reservations in advance but having to plan days ahead for a drink or snack as an in house resident felt restrictive and disappointing. On the plus side, the staff were apologetic, helpful and agreed that we could end our stay early and find a property that more closely matched our desire for spontaneity and food/beverage that was less restrictive. Overall, the property feels like corners at being cut and some of the shine is wearing off what I’m sure was an exclusive and service driven resort.

We stayed here to celebrate our anniversary. This was our second time staying at the beautiful Hotel Wailea, and it definitely won’t be our last. The customer service here is top notch; everyone is attentive and friendly, from the valets and the groundskeepers to the servers in the restaurant and the staff at the front desk. There are subtle touches that you might not notice while you’re staying here, like our housekeeper Carina leaving extra coffee pods for us without us asking her to do so. Shannan, Keoni, Angie and everyone at the front desk are wonderful, so kind and caring, always greeting us with smiles. When you get to your next hotel, you’ll think of those thoughtful, kind moments. We highly recommend staying here!

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Wailea for a week, and loved our experience there. It will be the hotel that we compare all other hotels to going forward. It's hard to know where to start. The property is a lush oasis of serenity, where the only noises we heard during our stay were those of the many different birds in the surrounding trees. You are a little bit away from the ocean here, but still get amazing views from the rooms and restaurants. Being an adult only resort is a huge bonus for couples wanting to escape for a nice relaxing vacation. They think of every guest need, with things like electric bikes, complimentary concierge (or self parking is also available), sunscreen pump station at the pool, a general number you can text anytime you need anything sent to the room, and so much more. There are two restaurants on property (The Birdcage and The Restaurant) They were both amazing. We had a dinner at each, and breakfast at the restaurant each morning. Some standouts at breakfast were the coconut chia pudding in a half papaya, and the crab eggs benny. The fresh ahi options at dinner were so good, and the service was never less than excellent. The best part was they took care of my wife's dietary needs without any issue. My wife has celiac disease and is very allergic to gluten. She had tons of safe gluten free options for every meal, and loved every bite she had. We tried out a couple of restaurants at the bigger resorts in the area, and each time we came back at night to the Hotel Wailea, we took a deep breathe, and remarked how glad we were to have booked there. Really hoping we are lucky enough to return in the future!

Hotel Wailea is the perfect choice for a quieter, romantic getaway. Our room was spacious, service was excellent throughout our stay and the amenities (pool, on site dining, transportation assistance and beauty of the property) were outstanding. We will return.

This is a phenomenal hotel. Everything is done with pride, beautiful grounds and facilities, the staff are awesome and the ratio of guests to property size is small. We asked how full they were and were shocked nearly full- the hotel pool only had a few other people and we didn’t really hear or see many other guests. If you want privacy, quiet and almost a feeling like you have your own hotel this is the place.

We went to Maui to get away. I chose Hotel Wailea because; it is private, quiet and romantic. It has only spacious suites with glorious views. The food is gourmet the staff is incredibly nice and very efficient. No kids so it is quiet and peaceful.we loved our suite so much we only left the property once for lunch. Glorious views of Lanai and Kahoolawe meant we really felt the Hawaii magic. It was like a second honeymoon. It dosn’t get better than that!
