Reviews of Hotel St. Francis
Charming, historic, tiny rooms
Charming historic hotel, well kept, clean, friendly staff. Great location 2 blocks from main square. Only drawback is that the rooms are postage stamp sized w no place for 2 people’s luggage but we made it work. I recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
Where the locals want to stay!
The room and atmosphere of the hotel was perfect - no complaints. You can't get a better location in downtown Santa Fe for this hotel. The staff was attentive and professional which made our stay even better. Having multiple choices of F&B on site was a plus! Great experience all...

Creepy, Desolate, and Unsafe
Horrible hotel! Horrible hotel! Unsafe bathroom with step up, no grab bars, tiny rubber bathmat (we asked if any rooms had grab bars in the bathrooms and they said no); no functioning heat, no bell hop service, restaurant closed (although website shows on-site restaurant), $30 daily fee (undisclosed to guests) for lobby coffee service; high, high bed that required a stepstool for elderly and disabled guests; dismal lobby (no vending service for drinks or snacks), very limited staff; we could not get help with luggage despite our advanced age. I slipped in the dangerous tub and flooded the bathroom and despite this and my reporting to security and requesting a discount from the $445 daily rate for my pain and discomfort, we were only promised a $60 discount total. Not only will we not ever stay at St. Francis Hotel, this soured us on the city of Santa Fe totally since the personel was so rude and unconcerned about our safety and our needs. I wondered if they would want their parents or grandparents to be treated likewise. Who wants to visit a city with people like that?

We had a warm greeting on arrival, and found our room to be a little on the small side, but we soon got settled. There was no full length space in the slender wardrobe, and not many drawers, or shelf space in the bathroom. It was nice to be able to open a window and have real air, not air conditioning. At dusk we did find the lighting rather dim and there was no full length mirror, nor anywhere else on landings or in lobby. The knobs to turn on the bedside lights (which you couldn't reach from the bed) were unkind on your fingers. We visited the bar only to hear all about the barman's travels and experiences, after having driven 5 hours plus from El Paso. The pillows squashed to a hard pad after a nights sleep, but on request more supportive ones were provided. The hotel is excellently located and valet parking is very efficient.

After a family day at Texas Tech for our grand daughter we decided to take a side trip on our way home in Santa Fe. St Francis Hotel was just the right place. Hotel in downtown area so we were able to walk to all the spots we wanted to see. Plenty of restaurants close by and just sitting in town square a plus. Hotel dtaff really friendly and helpful (cookles at front desk a ++). Winery by lobby a nice visit if you choose to do. Our hotel room a little small but still really nice. Will go back on next visit to Santa Fe.

We really enjoyed our stay at the St Francis. The hotel is in a great location; easy to walk to shops and restaurants. The staff was fantastic; very friendly and efficient. It is a beautiful old hotel that has been renovated but maintains its authentic history.
We stayed in a deluxe king room. The bed and bedding was extremely comfortable, there were two chairs and a table for sitting, a Keurig fir coffee, and a large armoire that contained the TV, a safe and a small refrigerator and drawers for storage. Coffee was served in the lobby daily, which was nice.
When we needed our car, the valet service was very quick. Parking in downtown Santa Fe is pretty crowded, so we appreciated the ease of the valet.
Secreto Lounge on site has great craft cocktails, and we loved sitting on the porch.
The only disadvantage was that there was road noise from cars racing in the streets on the weekend nights, which wasn’t the fault of the hotel. We would stay there again.

I recently stayed at Hotel St Francis during the Indian Market, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The location was ideal, putting us right in the heart of all the action.
The staff including Director Stephen went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. From the warm welcome at check-in to the thoughtful recommendations for local dining and activities, every detail was taken care of with genuine hospitality.
Our room was tiny, cozy, clean, and beautifully decorated with touches that reflected the local culture, which added a special charm to our stay. We also appreciated the amenities. which made our time here even more enjoyable.
Being in town for the Indian Market, we were delighted to find that the hotel offered insights and tips on navigating the event, which enhanced our overall experience.
Thank you to the entire team for making our stay during this special time so unforgettable. We look forward to returning next year!

Tried to get help on reservation refund, but received no help on doing so.
We booked reservations for up coming vacation trip. Before trip we have had unfortunate circumstances arise. Due to these circumstances our trip needed to be reconsidered. Received no help on refund of reservation due to death in family.

Oh, where do I begin. The good points of this hotel are its close location to the central plaza in town and the fact that the room and bed were very clean. But everything else is disappointing. Poor lighting, tiny rooms, sink in tiny room with the bed so you can’t wash without waking up your partner, no counter nor shelving by the sink so no place to put your toiletries. In addition, the tiny bathroom with the toilet had a stained toilet seat. No place in our room to sit to put on clothes. Refrigerator, even when we checked to turn it on, never worked, so our costly food spoiled. No desk, only a one-foot wide round table. Not enough plugs. No makeup mirror so you can’t really see much by the sink. No full length mirror. Just not the luxury or even typical 3-4 star amenities you would hope for. Oh, and the AC didn’t work well at all in the hot weather

Apologies to the St. Francis. You have let a wolf move into your hotel. The Wolf and Roadrunner had to be one of the worst restaurants we have tried to visit in a very long time. On a day where your are very short on staff (as the waiter told us) you should just notify people with reservations and cancel them, not open until staff levels are back to handle the flow. After waiting 40 minutes for a starter salad and zero attention at our table and getting strong hints of some smokeable substance being dragged in by a staff member to a table next to us, we gave in (no salad in sight) and stood up to leave, got to the foyer, just as and entree and side were on the way to our table. The filet looked like a burnt piece of charcoal. We stood our ground on the bad service and left. We REALLY wanted to support this restaurant.
