We loved Hotel Sonne! The front desk people were so nice and accomodating. It's a short walk from the train station. It's totally walkable to the entire town. The hotel is super quirky. I think each room is different. We know how small European rooms can be so we booked one of their largest rooms and were not disappointed. The size was good. The beds were comfortable. It had a huge shower. Their breakfast buffet was terrific! It was a great choice and I would not hesitate to stay here again!

First of all, I recommend for everyone touring the castles to stay a couple of days. Coming in on a tour bus for a day trip is not the way to vacation. Fussen is worth seeing, it’s quaint and romantic. There are cute little shops. After touring the two castles, it was nice to come back to. Hotel Sonne is a short walk from the train station. As soon as you exit the station, you walk straight and you will see it on your right. Try to walk on the right side of the street because the crosswalk is pass the hotel entrance so you will have to cross and double back from the left. We received such a warm reception at check in. The bar restaurant at the hotel was very nice and the breakfast was considered one of the best in town. I concur. There is a sauna at the hotel that is very popular on Fridays and Saturdays. You shouldn’t miss it. We traveled in November so I can’t tell you how nice it was to return from the castles, grab a bite to eat and enjoy a hot sauna. It really was just perfect. We stayed two nights and the only change I would make is to have stayed 3 nights.

Best facility location kindness professionalism and service i ever had in my life . PERFECT!!! It was the best experience for you first days in Bavaria and we sure plan to return again again and forever do not skip the amazing sauna service best ever

I stayed here with my husband and 4/5 because there was no coffee/tea in the room and room decor was a little weird, and the floors were super weird and I couldn't tell if they were dirty, or just ugly lol. But, the rooms were huge and designed really really well as far as storage, space to hang, set, store things. Super traveler friendly! The front desk staff was really nice and the lobby and restaurant, RIWA, are really pretty. Elevators and underground parking were also handy. The underground parking was very very tight, but we had no issues. The breakfast here is GREAT, and we also had dinner at the restaurant and loved it- highly recommend and I would absolutely stay here again. It was really well located to visit Neuschwanstein/ Linderhof, and Zugspitze/ Eibsee.

Beautiful hotel. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast buffet was excellent. It was located very close to all of the local shops. It was a great location to see the nearby castles. Parking was easy. This was our second visit to this hotel and we loved it both times.

A lovely experience staying in Hotel Sonne in beautiful Fussen. Very comfortable room, lovely and clean. Nice breakfast with a good variety to choose from. Staff were friendly and helpful. A great location, if travelling by train a very easy walk.

Huge hotel with a central location and car park. The interior designer was too enthusiastic – the hallways and the room were too dark and too busy, overflowing with details, the toilet was situated at the entrance of the room, somehow opposite to the bathroom, which had very little light....

The switches had a mind of their own – I could not learn how to make them work, even after two days of exercise. The mattress was very soft and the pillows were of very poor quality. Very good breakfast in a noisy hall. Professional service

For the final night of our road trip, we stayed at this stylish hotel in the centre of Füssen. We were met by an extremely friendly and welcoming member of staff who checked us in and sorted our car parking (€15 a night). The decor of the hotel is really cool in a kind of modern/retro way (if that’s even a thing!). The room was well equipped, and had air conditioning which was something of a rarity on this trip, but very welcome as it warmed up to 30 degrees the day we were there. Bed was comfortable and the external shutters (controlled from a panel on the wall) provided excellent blackout - handy for the sunshine that appeared the following morning. Sound proofing of the windows was also excellent as Füssen was pretty busy traffic wise. Bathroom was also great with a big bath in addition to a shower, along with the usual toiletries provided. Location wise, Hotel Sonne is perfect. Within a minute or two you’re in the heart of the Old Town and all it has to offer. We didn’t do breakfast at the hotel as opted for grabbing a takeaway coffee and pastry so we could head back to the airport quickly, but the breakfast setup looked great from what we saw through the window! Would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re wanting to stay nearby to the Castles and explore what Füssen has to offer. Service from all the staff we spoke to was excellent.

This hotel is somewhat quirky, much like King Ludwig himself. We had one of their small rooms, and it was great, even had a balcony. The shower was large and easy to access. Larger rooms have a bathtub as well. We stayed 3 nights and used the free shuttle bus to go to Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau one day. You can walk to the bus terminal, only a couple blocks and they give you a pass for the bus at the front desk. Parking is tight. We reserved a spot, but it requires some maneuvering to park. They do have a couple spots for electric vehicles. We did laundry one night, and they have one washer and one dryer in the basement (also ironing board/iron). The washer is quick, but the dryer takes 2 or more hours. It dries clothes by sucking the water out, so you need to empty the water collector during the cycle. We didn't realize it would take that long, so had a late night until our wash dried. On the other hand, it's free, although they do have a laundry service if you'd rather pay. There is a pool table, some games available in a room behind the lobby. The breakfast buffet was truly excellent, and we enjoyed the variety. The location was convenient for exploring the town and nearby sights and the front desk staff were very friendly and willing to give advice..

Wonderful hotel, perfect location, incredible breakfast. We were there for 4 days and it was a wonderful experience and we will recommend for sure ! Parking space is near the hotel (need a reservation) and so it is very practical. Staff is very nice and polite. Special thanks to William from Brazil !
