The Ninfa in Puerto Ayora is an okay place to stay. The rooms are very simple and a bit dirty, with many bugs. The breakfast was not very good, and the service was not very friendly. The location is quite good because it’s close to the harbor. However, there are better alternatives in the area. Overall, it’s not the best choice, but it can be fine if you don’t expect too much.

3 night stay after cruise. Hotel Ninfa exceeded expectations. We had deluxe room facing pool. It was clean, roomy, good a/c. Breakfast was not fancy but plenty of good food to get the day started. GREAT location. Close to pier, supermarket and dining. Office helped print boarding passes and got us a taxi to the airport ferry. Nice place to relax after a busy Galapagos cruise.

The hotel is in a convenient location: close to the pier, grocery store, ATMs and main strip; about a 20 min walk to Darwin Research Centre. Free bicycles were available to guests and the main road did have separate bicycle lanes. There was drinking water readily available for water bottle refills. The room was spacious but very basic. No drawers or suitcase stand but a closet with a shelf and high hanger rod. The bathroom was clean but we had to run the shower for quite a while before getting hot water; a towel rack would have been helpful. They did supply bar soap and shampoo. The air conditioner worked well. Internet wasn’t lightning fast but we didn’t have any trouble with it. We didn’t turn the TV on so can’t tell you much other than - there was one. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful; even though we don’t speak Spanish and their English was very sparse, we were able to communicate anything we needed. Breakfast was good. It included scrambled eggs or custom eggs made fresh by the chef. There was some kind of cold meat (small triangles of ham and bologna) and cheese available. They had fresh fruit, yogurt, breads and a toast station. There was hot water for tea, coffee and hot chocolate and lovely fresh juice each morning. Small pancakes were a bit dry but they did vary the menu a little, offering a fried rice dish one day and frankfurters and beans another. The common area was pleasant, with an outdoor pool, tables, a small pool table and small bar area. The bartender was available for a couple of hours each evening but it closed up fairly early so there was never excessive or late noise for people near the courtyard. We were out on tours all day and out for dinner in the evenings, so for us, it was just a place to shower, sleep and eat breakfast. It served us well enough.
