We had a fantastic stay for our 25th anniversary. The staff went above and beyond to make it special. We got upgraded to one of the nicest rooms in the hotel and complementary champagne. The property itself is built into the cliff and facing the water so it’s pretty quiet. Sitting on the balcony you can see boats coming and going from the marina. A short hike takes you to the waterfall above. Overall a 11 out of 10 experience!! The front desk staff even helped us locate some specific local French chocolate we wanted to bring home to our French neighbor. We would return and recommend to our friends!!

My wife and I unfortunately only had one night at Hotel La Perouse, ending a fabulous voyage in Nice. We could have easily stayed several more nights.
The property itself is exquisitely placed with a fabulous view. Our room, a double room was beautifully appointed. Exquisitely comfortable linens, pillows, a beautiful marble bathroom and a very large patio.
Although the room was billed as not having a sea view we indeed did have one, if not direct, see accompanying photo.
The staff was helpful and accommodating, providing a packed breakfast as we were departing so early for the airport.
WiFi was fantastic - perhaps it was upgraded since some other reviews.
Our lunch at Le Patio was spectacular - my next stop is to provide a review for that exquisite gem.

These are photos from our room on 10/4/2024. The outlets didn’t work so we woke up to two dead iPhones and watches. There was a bad smell, like if you leave laundry in the washer overnight and it sours. If I owned a hotel, especially one just voted 7th best in France, I’d be embarrassed to put a guest in this room. Reception offered to move us the next night *if someone cancelled* but we wanted to enjoy our holiday so we cut our losses. Also, we didn’t feel like it was our job as guests to police their quality - we shouldn’t have to tell them the paint and plaster were peeling off the walls, there was a cigarette burn in the upholstery, and the outlets were dead. That’s just a hotel that doesn’t care.

The hotel is in a prime location, room offered terrace with spectacular view of the coast and hills. But, to us, what sets Hotel La Perouse apart is the exceptional staff. The hotel team is welcoming, efficient and sincerely friendly. They all appear to LOVE their jobs. We highly recommend this hotel. Merci, La Perouse team members!

This hotel is terribly misrepresented on social media. Their superior room is poorly designed and difficult to navigate. There is not enough space for two people’s things. Their shower door can slam into the toilet which is dangerous because it is glass. Their elevators are old and cramped and you have to take multiple lifts to get to your room if it’s on the higher floor. While the staff is kind and welcoming, and the views are beautiful, this was still a very disappointing stay. Our honeymoon deserved better hospitality.

It’s hard to find a great hotel in Nice. I’ve stayed at many 5 stars. I decided to give this one a try as I am a member of SLH. It was disappointing. It was neither small nor luxury.
There was no one available to help with bags outside and we had to carry them up the stairs. Thankfully someone inside helped.
The hotel is a 4 star which is accurate.
The room was quaint and had a reasonable view. Bathroom was nice but a very average shower.
Annoyingly on most floors there were random objects left around. Hoovers, spare beds. It’s hardly “luxury” when it’s a mess.
The location is good and frankly that’s about it. I wouldn’t stay again.

We had an excellent time at this hotel! We stayed in deluxe room with a sea view and the views were incredible. Our own slice of heaven that felt very private and quiet in a busy city. Room was large with a large bed. The hotel restaurant was perfect for breakfast or a an afternoon snack. We did not eat there for dinner but the menu looked great. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to book in Nice!

For my wife's Birthday, we wanted to find an intimate luxury hotel in Nice, and we succeeded. La Pérouse is perfectly located with Old Town to one side and the Port to the other. This keeps you out of the hustle and bustle of Nice, but close to all of the great restaurants and bars Nice has to offer. After a week, we found that the Port area has many great restaurant options that are far less crowded. The room was perfectly appointed, and our patio had an unbelievable view of the sea. We spent countless hours there watching the boats cruise by, sipping on Rosé. The pool area, while small, was uniquely carved into the hillside and offered a private area to escape the heat. The front desk staff was beyond amazing and helped us navigate the city and all it has to offer. Our dinner at Le Patio, the hotel's restaurant, was incredible. The service was spectacular, and the food was everything you could ask for. We will certainly return to La Pérouse next time we visit Nice.

Another magical 6 days at this wonderful hotel. From the moments when we were welcomed at Reception and shown our room to final check out, we received first class service from all the staff. Breakfasts and dinners were eagerly anticipated and always lived up to expectations. All the staff seemed happy in their work and went out of their way to be of assistance. Problems over downloading boarding passes were quickly resolved at Reception. It was good to renew acquaintance with Fabian at breakfast and with Julian at dinner and we would like to offer our thanks to them and to their colleagues in Le Patio restaurant who carried out their duties so cheerfully and efficiently. The cleaners willingly fitted in their duties around our timetable.
We do not think that there are m(any) hotels in Nice that provide such panoramic views of the Mediterranean as La Perouse. We also thoroughly enjoyed the swimming pool and sauna.
The location of La Perouse on the edge of Old Nice and beside the castle hill provided us with some excellent early morning walks and splendid views, and it was also very enjoyable to walk along the Promenade des Anglais.
This year we made the mistake of taking the train to Eze. Eze is a beautiful village and worth a visit but take the number 82 bus and not the train because from Eze railway station to the medieval village there is either an unreliable bus service or a very long walk.
A beautiful hotel staffed by wonderful people - what more can one ask?
