We felt very welcome and ‘at home’ at the Emporio Ixtapa Resort. It’s a beautiful area with a nice beach. It was fairly quiet and very relaxing. Our room was spacious with a comfortable king bed that overlooked the ocean. But, there are no balconies that you could sit out on. The window could be opened to hear the waves. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was the best of all the daily meals. Lunch and dinner always had plenty of food options but they were pretty much the same each day. We did eat at the Italian (reservation needed) restaurant and it was very good. The Mexican Fiesta night was amazing and one of the best we’ve experienced in Mexico in years. Food was authentic, dancing and music exceptional. Across the street, are various stores and several restaurants nearby. We felt very safe going out of the resort for a walk or to shop. It was an enjoyable holiday!

Older hotel. It is clean, kept well yet ready for modernization. The service is second to none. If you are looking for reasonably priced ocean front accommodations with a nice pool, pool bar and room service, this fits well. The area was safe, there was lots to do and the food was very good. Nearby restaurants were many and wonderful while a taxi to get there, if not walking, was very inexpensive. This was our first time and we are talking about going back already.

Well the room view was fantastic since we have the ocean view room. The bed was also fairly comfortable. The people that work there are fantastic very friendly. We did the all inclusive but i would suggest not to do so as there are better food outside. I can suggest maybe the breakfast is a good place to start since you can start your day well fed. However for most part the food wasn't that good except for the Mexican feast day and the meat grilling day. Outside of those two the food is not too great. They also have an Italian restaurant that you have to make reservation 9am the day before and the food was pretty horrible. Now i will get back to the room especially the bathroom. The two faucets were leaking everytime you turn on the water so we had to continually wipe the bathroom sink area down. The bathroom should have been cleaner but oh well. Like i said the view was great and the beach was cool. But the pool which had the bar had many kids in it although they have a kids pool too. Not sure why they allow kids to swim in the pool where the bar is at. Why not just have kids swim at their private kids only pool? Sadly we didn't even jump in the pool thinking of how many little kids pee'd in there. :-( We actually enjoyed more away from the hotel than in it. I can go on but i will stop there. Overall, it wasn't the best experience with a hotel. We will not be back here for sure.

The location, staff and food were very good. We stayed one week and had such a good time, it is located on a beautiful beach. We had the breakfast plan and loved it, close by is a plaza with many restaurants, bars and shopping.

Really nice spot, but a bit of a mixed bag as others have pointed out. Definitely opt for the European plan and not the all inclusive. If you seek and AI best to go next door Hotel is frequented by 99% locals so basic Spanish is helpful. Positives include the location and the rooms while a bit dated larger and very well maintained. Pricing is also good if you booked the room without a package. Upgrade from mountain view to ocean was 20 usd per night. Well worth it for the views and quiet. You will get loud noise from the pool though and events. Negatives include the lack of shade as the cabanas have replaced the thatch structures. Towel games heighten on weekends with the influx of the locals so we had to get assistance to even get a pair of lawn chairs as the multitude were “reserved” Ice has to be obtained from the bar which isn’t convenient as there are only 3 and they don’t open until 11. One only opens in the afternoon. Buffet was ok but well below selection wise what you would find at a Riu or Bahia for example. Would quickly get tedious. Noise is an issue. The pool music volumes are super high and the whistling from the aquatic leader is super annoying daily. All and all. Worth a visit but maybe not a return visit.

The Emporio Hotel is like coming home! Staff are top notch and caring folks. We've stayed here at least 10 + yrs. We've brought our son and daughter with our grandchildren also. The Company works hard at keeping the place fresh/current. All NEW Anderson Windows a few years back...that was a huge investment! 2 items that could be addressed. The lack of shade...Us white folks from the north can't handle a full day of sun. New cabana beds are a joke...you bake inside them. The Old natural Mexican woven huts were great. Lastly, the Volume of the Music...between 11 a.m-4p.m. is terrible. The setting poolside is so perfect, without Maxed out speakers! Please Turn it down. We're hoping someone on staff will pay attention....otherwise...We Americans and our Canadian friends will go somewhere else. We hope to return for another 2-3 week vacation in 2024. tom & judy draper, WI/USA

I have always been impressed with the employees friendliness and helpfulness. Felipe at the front desk remembers my name from one year ago! The rooms are clean and adequate. The good is good and the beach is spacious.

I love yoga and the resort activities but Angeles was the best!!!! I did Pilates with her, her workout was well prepared, she was very conscious about few exercises I can do and adjusted the routine for me. Look for her at the Activities desk by the pool.
