Just returned from a fabulous trip to Tuscany and Umbria, and we spent the 1st 10 nights at Hotel David. This hotel was wonderful! We would stay here again if we're ever in Florence. The hotel is charming, clean, well located, and good value, but the highlight was definitely the wonderful staff. So thoughtful and helpful! From the moment our taxi pulled up staff were outside to greet us and help us as needed.
My husband is a manual wheelchair user and we were in room 6 on the main floor. There is a long easy ramp up to the main entrance and then an elevator to the breakfast room. It was perfect for us. Room 6 is on the main floor and is quite large with a separate sitting area. I would suggest adding a grab bar in the shower but everything else was perfect.
The neighbourhood is outside the main tourist area but has lots of great restaurants a short walk away. Our favourites were Trattoria Beppino and Trattoria Gigi.
The included breakfast was very hearty with lots of choices. I am still dreaming of the pistachio croissants! Once she knew I liked them the fabulous breakfast server made sure there was one for me every morning! The happy hour was a lovely touch too. Definitely highly recommended.
Grazie Hotel David. Spero di tornare!

It’s a 15 minute walk to the main area but given the spring break crowds we were very happy to be away from the crowds.
Local cafes and restaurants are excellent ( particularly Alfie di Bacco? ). Lovely local pizzeria.
Well worth a visit, and we will definitely recommend

What a gem. First off, I loved the creativity shown in the photo. Very clever. Great location for walking to many of the sites in Florence. We got upgraded to the top floor which offered two patios with lovely views. The staff was so welcoming and helpful with everything. We arrived in time for their happy hour. Wine, water, sparkling drinks coffee, hot cocoa, juice with all sorts of food. We actually had that for dinner. You get three free drinks per day per person. Water, sparkling, etc. Sodas and beer is extra but cheaper here than in the stores. Free parking was a bonus. You leave the keys with the desk in case they need to move the car. The room was comfortable as well as the bed and pillows. Nice shower. There is an elevator. Great price. I would definitely stay again and recommend to everyone. Thanks for a great stay.

We stayed here for a few nights as part of our honeymoon. We cannot say enough good things about it! Friendly staff, clean, air conditioned, but they also had some other amazing perks. The breakfast alone was worth it but they also had a complimentary happy hour. Free wine and assortment of appetizers in the evening on the cute lit up patio. We enjoyed some great cappuccinos on the terrace as well in the morning. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in Florence.

There are two bus stations right outside the hotel which is very convenient to travel around the city. I could see the duomo from the balcony of my room which was such a pleasant experience. I would definitely recommend Hotel David if you're looking for a place to stay in Firenze.

We reserved a room for 2 nights but after one night we extended our stay. Without a doubt during our 3 week road trip Hotel David has been the best place we've stayed.
The hotel staff were so helpful and friendly. The room was charming with the most comfortable bed and pillows. The complimentary breakfast was great and one of the nicest experiences we've had in a hotel was the complimentary happy hour. The lounge is comfortable and conducive to chatting with other guests which was delightful and interesting. When we left we felt like we were leaving from a visit to good friends. I cannot recommend Hotel David more highly. We'll definitely return the next time we visit Florence.

Among my favorite hotels ever! It has a good vibe, friendly and helpful staff, lovely room and bath, great breakfast ( with the happiest server daily). We actually liked being away from the city center and having the bus stop just around the corner was a slick way to get to the hub and then often walk back. Would stay here again and again!

Hotel was the best of our stay in Italy. Fabulous room. Comfortable, large and beautiful. Work space hidden behind bed. Honesty bar. Lovely free coffee and breakfast bits to take. Staff so friendly. Really relaxed vibes. Lovely garden and chill out area. Highly recommend.
Highly recommend this charming hotel!

HOTEL DAVID IS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF OUF TRIPS TO FLORENCE
Our third stay at the Hotel David. Comfortable, friendly, considerate staff and a wonderful breakfast and happy hour with wine, beer, and warm hors d’oeuvres.
We don’t consider going to Florence unless we are able to get a reservation here.
Great hotel a bit out of the way

Ok, this place is absolutely charming and they attend to all the details. The lobby is welcoming and large. They have an open bar with soft drinks or beer (up to three a day) available, as well as an espresso machine. The rooms are, as you might expect, traditional in style, with lots of period detail. Ours faced the street and had a balcony. The breakfast was good and again, in a charming room on the first floor. All the staff were excellent. Unfortunately, the hotel is a good 30 minute walk to the destinations you will want to see in Florence. It just means you have to plan our your day carefully, as it wasn't always worth it to walk back to the hotel, only to have to leave again and walk back to the center of the city. The other negative was the street noise. For our second night we turned on a noise machine to help block out the road noise, but the motorcycles and trucks still woke us several times.

We visited Hotel David two weeks ago and I wish I could give more than five stars!! Everything was perfect - from the kind staff, to the beautiful decor, the delicious daily breakfast, the hearty and cozy nightly happy hours, this has to be one of the best hotels I have visited to date! The location was perfect, just a short 15 minute walk to the Florence city centre, lovely outdoor patio area, cute and delicious nearby restaurants, and located in a quaint neighborhood that made us feel like locals. Highly recommend this most perfect spot! 😊

David was a suprisingly warm and good hotel. Hints of good humor here and there (drawn ants climing the stairs, look at their web etc. ) This hotel is at the good walking distance (30-40 min) from the center of the old town - easy to collect your daily 10,000 steps :). But if you are too tired to walk, there is a bus stop just next to the hotel and bus tickets sold at the reception. And we liked the possibility to tell "No need to clean the room today" by hanging the lable on the door. And their three free drinks principle, their "happy hour" with free wine, their good breakfast etc. You have to try it!

from the brightly tiled bathroom with heated floor, to the comfortable bed and tasteful furniture of random periods. The staff was super warm and the daily happy hour in the lobby a fun mellow opportunity to compare travel 'notes'. We loved our first stay at Hotel David so much that we returned a few days later to another great stay. The honor system of the snacks/bar was an appreciated added touch. We'll return. Thanks SO much.
