I cannot express our thanks to all the staff at this stunning hotel! The moment we arrived for our 20th wedding anniversary Joana at front desk made us feel so special and welcome! The restaurant meal was spectacular and the setting and views overlooked Cascais with elegant service - a perfect anniversary meal, and the service was lovely thanks to Phillip our waiter! Love the time and thought spent on recommending wines and local oils - Also Joana couldn’t do enough to make our stay even more special and personal with a photo of us in our room and gifts. Thank you again for a magical time. Spa was out of this world too - a real surprise and very romantic! We cannot wait to return next year! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, David and Sandy Potter xx

We booked this hotel for the indoor pool which looks lovely in videos - sadly we never gained access. The pool was shut for ‘maintenance’ which was a huge disappointment. Outdoors was not warm and the Holmes Place alternative next door is a regular club which was absolutely mobbed with people, families with children on the Saturday morning and yet sold as a viable equivalent alternative to the serenity of the hotel pool.
We spent more than 2 hours with the duty manager to receive a 15% discount on our stay - honestly our main exercise is in the pool so the whole purpose of being at this hotel was diminished. Be careful of this bait and switch - the serenity and cleanliness of a dedicated hotel pool cannot be matched by a club open to the local population. The receptionist told me I had been informed 6 days before my arrival which was not so as evidenced by the date of the e mail I did receive once already working in Portugal - too late to change my reservation. The duty manager clearly had limited powers of negotiation and resolution and said if we spent money on food in the hotel we could do so with a 10% discount.
At over £1000 for three night B&B and being deprived of the main ‘in hotel’ draw for us we would not spend more money.
Pluses - room was nice as were the staff - but for us with no indoor pool such a disappointment. A spoiled getaway for us despite being in beautiful Caiscais.

We just loved this hotel. Such a good choice. We had a premium room on the 6th floor across from the spa which was very convenient. The water circuit in the spa was probably the best we have ever seen in a hotel. The high salinity floating room is a sublime experience, especially after the sauna or steam. The indoor pool is huge, and they even have a shower that alternates between soft warm water and cold water. The staff were so nice, especially Mayara! It is a beautiful hotel all around; great amenities and great service. And Cascais was so beautiful. We loved Lisbon but if we are back in this area we will stay in this hotel again.

Beautiful location about a 10 minute walk from the older part of Cascais where there are tons of restaurants and shopping. Great view of the ocean! You're not right on the beach but just a short walk to reach it. The amenities are fantastic! The outdoor pool is great. They have a water lounge inside the hotel for guests (no extra charge) where they have an indoor pool with hydrotherapy, sauna, salt room, and Turkish bath. It's fantastic. There is a gym that you can access next to the hotel.
The rooms are big with hardwood floors. The downsides are not any plugs in the bathroom, and an old wall mounted blow dryer. It's hard not to get the whole bathroom wet when you take a shower.
And the best part is they have a toaster in the restaurant that actually toasts bread!

I will start with the good. The lobby was impressive as we checked in. The pool overlooking the water is beautiful. The service was impeccable. Any time we had to call, which unfortunately was a lot, they were there to provide service in under 5 minutes. The staff is very kind and attentive. Also, we were there for our honeymoon, and they welcomed us with a lovely gift that was very much appreciated.
Now for the issues we had with this hotel. I was shocked upon checking into the room. We were looking for a 5 star hotel to celebrate our honeymoon. I’m not sure who determines the number of stars given, but this was absolutely not a 5 star hotel. Although our room was spacious, the carpet was covered in stains. The outdoor patio overlooking the beautiful sea had torn up greens and 2 stained lounge chairs (no towels or pads to cover them) and no seats to enjoy the view. We arrived on a warm day and noticed that although the bedroom was cooled nicely, the bathroom was extremely warm and did not have any ventilation. We called to ask if we were missing something. They came right away and explained that because the building is very old, it was not well ventilated. They did bring us a fan, which was kind but presented a whole other issue with trying to find additional plugs (there was only one) to plug in the fan and the hair dryer. The shower was our biggest disappointment. It was so tiny, It felt like I was in a coffin. The worst part was the water didn’t drain so we were standing in a full basin of water as we showered. It was quite gross.
5 Star hotels usually offer turn down service. I’m not sure if they have it, but if so, we did not get it. They only give you 2 hand towels and 2 shower towels. Without turndown, you are unable to have fresh towels the next morning (although when we called and asked, they brought us more right away.)
Lastly, we were able to enjoy sitting by the pool although it was too cold to get in. We only saw a few people brave enough to get in. For the price we paid per night, you would think they would spend the money and heat the pool a bit.
I do not recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a 5 star experience.

This hotel is quite old and tired. We had a big stain on the carpet in our room and the tiling around the pool and hotel is discoloured and old looking. There’s letters missing off signs that have never been replaced. The breakfast buffet is dreadful. They need at least one other breakfast area, it’s so busy and stressful. Pool service was very poor indeed. There’s no hotel bar either. Very expensive for what it is, we wouldn’t go back.

This is an excellent hotel. The staff are helpful, efficient and friendly. Our large and comfortable room on the tenth floor overlooked the pool and ocean and had a large terrace. The bed was huge. Buffet breakfast was extensive and fresh. The pool/bar food was also very good. The sun loungers would benefit from mattresses. The spa is excellent with an indoor pool. It is a short walk into town and there is a long promenade. We very much enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay here again.
If you are going to visit Sintra make sure you take extra layers as it is a great deal cooler than the coast.
