Do not purchase a Holiday Inn Vacation Package from these people. It ended up costing me over $800 for a 3 night stay at a Holiday inn Express. We traveled 600 miles to this destination and they refused to let us take the tour because my wife forgot her identification. This company is a joke.

First and foremost, I am becoming more and more uncomfortable with the number of dogs being allowed to stay in the resort. I understand emotional support animals, but it is excessive, in my opinion. My biggest concern is allergies to the pet dander in my family. I'm worried we will no longer be able to stay at the resort that we paid quite a bit of money for.
The front desk repeatedly assured me that a maintenance issue with the toilet in the primary bathroom would be resolved all week long, and when we checked out, it was still an issue.
Being a Premier Platinum member, we were given wristbands, and we were told that they were reusable at all the resorts, but when I checked out, the front desk said I had to return it. I can tell you I don't want any wristbands in the future because I don't know how you clean something like that.
I was also very disappointed with our room location and assumed that an owner would be given priority over rooms with better views. Our room overlooked the front entry underneath the reception canopy, so disappointing.
The one positive thing I can say about our most recent trip was the treatment we received from Carrie. She remembered us from the previous year by name. The rest of the staff should take a lesson from how friendly she is and how she personalizes each guest to make them feel welcome and appreciated. I can't say enough about Carrie, she's one of the only reasons we overlooked the other issues we had during our most recent stay.

Apart from the initial shock of not having a log cabin when checking in (photos on website)
Oh that’s at our other vacation resort??
It all went well, we were approached only twice about signing up for a timeshare with lots of discounts for various restaurants etc, but when we explained politely that we weren’t interested they left us alone.
So basically our log cabin :-))) is just like a suite in a upmarket hotel.
We had a fully equipped kitchen large fridge & freezer a balcony looking at the mountains, sadly also the car park but better than the other side which just looked out at the road.
We also had a small washer & dryer which I took full advantage of :-)))
There are no restaurants etc on the site but easy enough to walk 10mins into the town, where there’s lots of choices.
What I will say is why oh why can’t people close doors? They just let them slam everywhere in America and sadly here is no different.

Stunningly beautiful location; heavy sales pressure

Fair disclosure--we foolishly bought a timeshare with HIVC several years ago, so now we're caught in the trap of having to manufacture several trips each year which we normally wouldn't take, in order to get at least some value from the yearly maintenance fee we pay. That means that we tend to approach each new HIVC "vacation" with a negative attitude. With that said, the HIVC property in Gatlinburg is in a stunningly beautiful location. My husband and I truly did enjoy sitting on our 10th floor balcony which faced the mountains. But was that view worth the price of admission? Hmm...

From the moment we walked through the door into the lobby we were treated with kindness, smiles and wonderful southern hospitality.
We were a party of 6 adults in a 3 bedroom villa. The rooms were clean, very nicely decorated and large. Ceiling fans in all bedrooms, living room. Gas fireplace and Jacuzzi tubs in the master bedrooms. All amenities in room. The balcony was very nice with rockers and small table. We had a stream below and a beautiful view of the mountains. Had a visitor that we watched 3 mornings from our balcony and got great pictures and videos (
).
The pools/hot tubs and area around them were clean and well maintained .
We had issues with the central air and called front desk at 8 pm. Maintenance was there in less then 10 minutes and tried to fix it but needed an ac person to fix. Brought up a temporary portable ac hooked it up (worked great) and fixed the system next day. Excellent staff and service. Things happen.
Location is close to downtown. Pancake restaurant across the street. They serve a little bit of everything. Lots of great places to eat downtown.
This is one of my favorite HIC resorts. You will not be disappointed.

I actually did not use the 4-day/3-night pkg sold to me in March under false pretenses. I was transferred to HICV while booking a room with IHG with the explanation that it was a special offering for their 40th anniversary. I even asked for clarification when the rep quickly said something about a required survey, asking if that meant we needed to listen to a sales pitch for something, and he said no. There was never any mention that this was a timeshare sales deal. I asked for a refund as soon as I discovered I had been misled about the pkg, as well as other false claims about my rewards, but was told it was nonrefundable. I was also told there was no formal complaint process that I could follow. I am very unhappy with both HICV and IHG for this dishonest sales tactic.

Purchased a tour package per a phone call they made to me, offering a package to several of their locations. We chose New Orleans. Then about 6 weeks before visit I get a phone that we would not receive the full package I had purchased in good faith. They referred to tours I had purchased years before that disqualified us from benefiting for program. They were from years before and were not referred or discussed in initial phone call.
I urge DO NOT buy from Holiday Inn!
