We stayed five nights at the hotel prior to a cruise in February. On the day we left, I (an Honors Diamond member) booked a room for the day our cruise was over and requested an early check-in. I was told they couldn’t promise, but they would do there best to honor our request. On the morning we returned, we were told we probably wouldn’t get a room until the regular 3 pm check-in time. I explained that we were only staying until 6 pm and they didn’t seem to care. It’s not possible that no rooms would cleaned and ready until 3 pm. I saw many people checking out from the minute we got there. As a Diamond member, I’ve never been treated this way at any other Hilton property. I’d like to know the reason this hotel refuses to give up a room before 3 pm. It ended up that we paid for a whole night and got to use our room for three hours. Very disappointing.

This hotel is very good. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast area is crowded but the food is good and it has a nice selection of items from many different ethnicities. As many people stay here before cruises that depart a few times a week, it can be hectic upon check-in or departure. Overall, this is a good hotel and a great value.

This was our 2nd visit. Beautiful public spaces and pool area. Great breakfast buffet. Large comfortable rooms though there is a translucent glass wall between the shower in the bathroom and the bedroom. Would be awkward if traveling with my adult sons. And if you have to go to the bathroom at night and turn on the light, it lights both rooms up. That is poor design.

If you’re here in Tahiti and looking for only a one night stay this is fine. I wouldn’t recommend more than one night but the location to the airport and walkable to town and across the street from a shopping mall made it perfect for a brief transit stay.
Great place to use HHonors points as rates can be pricey, but would return again one day.

Reviews seem to differ on whether this property is a good transit stop (night or two) , or could be a vacation destination in and of itself. Close call, though may depend on whether one wants to spend one's entire time on the island....Our experience was clearly "yes" on the transit question; "maybe" on the "stay longer" question for our 5 nights post-cruise. Positives: ambience (reminded us of a high-end Puerto Rico vibe); nice rooms/views; generally friendly/good service -- bell desk service in particular; wonderful Diamond transit lounge; decent Hilton bed and sheets; fitness room small but updated/clean; large resort pool. Negatives: no beach; drinks expensive -- watch out for the $25 beer at the sushi bar!; easy to both over-tip and under tip in local currency; pool attendants seem to be bothered by anyone asking for something (stood-out as exception to otherwise very good service rest of property).

This is our 3 rd time staying here. Usually just a layover on way to Bora. This year we decided to stay 3 nights and celebrate our anniversary. I am a gold member and in past have had lovely room. We notified hotel it was a special occasion. Our room is in a mildew smelling hallway with terrible view. Door will only close if slammed with force. No acknowledgment of our anniversary or gold member upgrade. Dinner in French restaurant- food took 60 minutes but we noticed everyone else getting their food quickly. We ordered a steak well done which came rare with the wrong sides. Regret not staying at intercontinental.

My experience at Hilton Tahiti was absolutely unacceptable, and the behavior of the manager and front desk staff made it even worse. I expected at least a basic level of professionalism, but instead, I encountered rudeness, indifference, and a complete lack of problem-solving skills.
The receptionist demanded full payment immediately upon arrival—without even checking if our room was available. Only after we paid were we told that no room was ready. When we asked for a solution, the staff, including the manager, showed zero willingness to help. Instead of offering alternatives or at least showing some concern, they acted as if this was completely normal. No apology, no effort to make the situation better—just a cold, unhelpful attitude.
This level of incompetence and disregard for guests is unacceptable, especially for a luxury hotel. It’s clear that the management here has no interest in hospitality—only in taking your money. Hilton should seriously reconsider who they put in charge of their hotels if they want to maintain any kind of reputation. Avoid this place if you expect even basic customer service.

Beautiful hotel in Tahiti, connected to Carrefour shopping. Minor issues: no electrical adapter for American electronics, Executive Lounge does not provide breakfast or happy hour in the afternoon. Breakfast buffet is 3-star. Other than that, it is a wonderful hotel with spacious room, gorgeous surroundings, and great service.

I always rate a hotel on what worked for us. It was a good stopover hotel for us before we continued our trip to the rest of French Polynesia, however expensive. But that is Tahiti for you and we are not complaining, only blaming the Aussie Dollar. We arrived VERY late at night and pre organised an arrival transfer to make things easier. Our check in was reasonable quick and smooth - even in time for a quick beer before the bar closed at midnight.
We stayed for two nights and was in an Ocean View Grand Room which mean we had a massive outside balcony, including sun beds overlooking the pool and ocean. Rooms was what you expect from the Hilton. We used the pool, bar and terrace restaurant from which everything was fine. Two nights was enough for us, can’t see ourselves spending a week there (only because we are more beach people). Staff at reception and the pool bar were great, not so much the restaurant (but maybe a little training will help). Overall I would stay again if we needed two nights in Papeete.

We were upgraded to a “bungalow” – more of a suite, with a kitchen, dining area, living room, and two balconies. The large closet had plenty of drawers and storage. The in-room safe was large enough for a 15-inch laptop.
It was a great room, but I struggled to keep the shower water from flooding the bathroom floor. In addition, the suite had two glazed windows (without curtains). This allowed the outside hallway lights to shine into our room and the light made it difficult to sleep.
Loved the “overwater” restaurant: in the morning, it was used for breakfast and was converted to an Italian restaurant at night.
If our travel brings us back to Papeete, I plan to stay at the Hilton Hotel Tahiti.

Beautiful location. Most of the staff very friendly and welcoming… except the Maitre d in the Brasserie , Jean -Michel who was unwelcoming. The service was extremely slow; half an hour to be asked what drinks we wanted. When ordering I specifically asked for a meal without onions! If I’m paying Hilton prices I want to eat what I want! My meal arrived and the mixed vegetables ( which looked unappetising) was covered in onions. My husband was served the incorrect meal. When I asked the maitre d to come to our table so I could explain this was not what I ordered he completely ignored me and served other tables. Wrong man in the job. Shockingly rude. A pity as the rest of the experience was pleasant.

We ended up staying at this hotel twice on the same trip (the second time due to a flight cancellation requiring an overnight stay). We were in an upgraded grand balcony room with large chaise loungers. Our second stay was a standard garden view room. Both room interiors were pretty similar.
We ended up really liking this property for a few reasons. The location worked out so well for us - walking distance to town, connected to the shopping mall and Carrefour, and easy airport access. The location for us is better than the Intercontinental, which is south of the airport.
We had breakfast included on both stays in the buffet, and ate dinner at the hotel one night too. The breakfast was honestly quite impressive. We happened to be there Christmas Day on our first stay and they had an extensive Christmas brunch with live music. It was a fantastic meal with fresh sashimi, poisson cru, huge shrimp and much more. They also had a wide selection of delicious fresh fruit.
We had dinner at the Taitea restaurant and also really enjoyed the ambiance. I don't know if they have it nightly, but they had live music that night as well. The menu is extensive. It's not inexpensive, but to be honest it was on par with other restaurant prices. Tahiti is not an inexpensive destination.
You can also wander over to Carrefour which has a hot bar, fresh salads and lots of French charcuterie/fromage and baguettes. So you have plenty of options here.
I would definitely stay at this property again. We had good sleep, thought the service was great and enjoyed the location a lot.

We booked a two-night stay here as our gateway to French Polynesia, as we were continuing on to Moorea. Overall, we had an outstanding stay, and I hope to return sometime soon. A few points to note for your consideration:
The location is outstanding - basically halfway between the airport and the main tawn. We arrived late at night, so it was a short cab ride to the hotel. And, the next day, it was a roughly 20 minute walk into town.
Service at the front desk and the restaurants was excellent. Friendly, responsive, and cheerful - what more could you ask?
Breakfast was a buffet with an outstanding variety of foods and beverages. One of the better breakfasts I’ve seen in awhile.
Around the hotel, take note of the Carrefour supermarket in the mall across the street. For anyone continuing on to smaller islands, know that your supermarket options will be much more limited. We used this opportunity to stock up on a few things, and would strongly encourage you to do so also. That includes getting local currency from the ATM, which will be more difficult on the smaller islands.
Overall, we found the Hilton Tahiti to be excellent. Great service, great views, great location, and we are already looking forward to our next stay.

The hotel is safe and clean and just 10 minutes from the Airport. Ask the driver to take the highway and not the local road, it's three times the cost going local. ($30 vs $10). The resort staff speak english, but please learn a few words of Tahitian before you go. They charge a resort fee but it's in the port (No beach, no bikes, no water sports) and there isn't much to do at the resort besides the pool, so it's a silly money grab. The breakfast buffet is $50 plus but very good. There is no option for food after 10pm except chips. There is mall across the street connected by sky bridge but there are no options for food or entertainment close by. The city center is $15 by cab. There are better value places around the airport, read the reviews around if on a budget.
