Honeymooners and romantic travelers greatly enjoyed their stay at the Royalton Resort. They appreciated the variety of food options at the resort's restaurants, with a particular mention of hibachi being a favorite. The resort's multiple clean pools and the entertainment by the Martini Bar were also highly rated. Guests praised the resort's staff for their friendliness and attentiveness, especially Brennan at the Hideaway pool, and the Vibe team for their entertaining performances. Excursions such as mud baths, waterfall visits, catamaran rides, and snorkeling, organized through Nexus, were also enjoyed. The Hideaway section of the resort, which is adults-only, was appreciated for its tranquility. Some guests also took advantage of water sports and boat trips offered at the resort. Several guests recommended booking a helicopter transfer back to the airport due to the long distance. The Royalton was highly recommended for honeymoon and romantic getaways.

We had a fabulous time! My GF had never been out of the USA before this trip! It is about a 2-hour taxi ride to the resort from the international airport, so be prepared. We heard about the mud baths but that excursion through Nexus is an all-day affair including a waterfall, lunch, catamaran ride, and snorkeling. All we wanted was the first 3, which was arranged through Nexus to use "Tour for the Day." Every restaurant and bar we ate at was fabulous. We ate several times at the buffet for convenience's sake. The resort is shaped like a horseshoe with the Hideaway being a few buildings on one end and The diamond club on the other tip. Multiple pools to choose from. The only hiccup we had was the final dinner. We signed up for the Chef’s Table and nothing was ever said about having to choose a menu before the dinner. They said they left a message on the room phone but we were not checking that, they could have called or texted us. Bottom line they had to cancel but offered the Candle Light Dinner on the shore for a reduced price and it was actually better. The entertainment by the Martini Bar was also very good. Sometimes a small live ensemble and sometimes a full stage experience. Highly recommend! BTW, book Tenason as your driver and guide at Tour For the Day if you get a chance!

Save yourself the heartache; there are lots more better options out there. Staff don’t care for a reason

The Royalton at St.Lucia was most definitely not what we expected. Instead of receiving the suite with soaking tub, we ended up in a disabled room with tired, chipped furniture and an adjoining room and noisy people. Staff in reception weren't interested in the slightest. The staff on the ground were overall delightful, but management require a kick up the backside. Overall, if you're looking for an all-inclusive, noisy vacation with obnoxious loud, ill-mannered people who drink from morning to night with kids all over the place - we were in the adults-only section, but you'd never know it, then this is for you. Sadly, not for us. Our foray into the world of the Caribbean all-inclusive will be our last. A very disappointing and expensive mistake.

The Royalton was a great hotel and we had a fabulous time. The food options were all so good and we loved how many choices there were to choose from. The hibachi was our favorite! The pools were clean and we appreciated how many pools there were since sometimes we wanted a party vibe and sometimes we wanted to nap and read. Drinks at all the pools were also great! Shoutout to Brennan at the hideaway pool cause he was THE BEST! Our room was always clean when we came back and we had a swim out pool that was cool! The only note we had on this was that our water wasn’t filled each day and we really needed it! The white party was so fun and the performers were awesome to watch! The thing however that made us knock a point on the review was that we contacted the hotel prior to ask about day parties and themes and those didn’t align. We ended up having to book our excursion on our last day because we thought the day before was a pool party and that never happened so that was disappointing. The excursion to the pitons and hot springs was great but we wished we had a day at the resort after to relax but we had to go home. Also BOOK YOUR EXCURSIONS EARLY if you can. They were all booked up and there were really only 2 days for us to choose from when we got there and we wish we booked online before we got there. But overall this resort and the staff were great and we had the best honeymoon. Would go back again!

We have just returned from a week stay at the hideaway at Royalton. After reading some of the reviews I was a little worried but I had nothing to be worried about. The whole holiday was 10/10. We had no issues at all, the food options with all the restaurants were all great, great options for drinks, cocktails were amazing. Our room was beautiful, cleaned every day with new towels. Apart from one lady who worked in the hideaway reception who told us off with the coffee machine for no reason… every single member of staff were honestly the most loveliest, upbeat, friendliest people. So so helpful, smiley, couldn’t do enough for you. The bar staff, restaurant staff in all restaurants, in the hotel shop, buffet, the house keeping. The Vibe team were great, so entertaining and so talented too. I couldn’t believe some of their dance moves and singing. These girls and guys were brilliant. Couldn’t fault anything. We had a dinner on the beach for our last night which was the most perfect ending to our holiday, again the most amazing food and service. We really liked the beach and also the hideaway pool. The use of water sports were brill, we took a kayak out for half an hour which was free and also hired a jet ski for $80 for 30 mins which was great fun. Some of the people trying to sell you boat trips on the beach can become annoying however they do leave you alone quickly and politely. We booked a boat trip with Typhoon boat tours from a guy on the beach - these guys were AMAZING!!!! It was the best day, mud baths, waterfalls, snorkelling, tour of the island… our guide Alkaline was the best guide, made the day so fun couldn’t do enough to help and was with us all every day part of the day. Would defo recommend! We ended up going the helicopter transfer back to the airport due to the long distance- 2 hours on bus! Which was the perfect ending to the most perfect honeymoon. Thank you so much, 10/10 perfect!! We will be back!!

Second time here, but won’t come again. Hideaway reception staff rude and unhelpful. I asked for a room on a higher floor and was told to come back the next day so didn’t unpack. Went back and was told it would have to be the next day. Went back and a very stand offish receptionist said no. No sorry or anything, was told we got what we paid for. I know that we were on second floor last year for the same category room. Hotel rooms in need of a refurbishment. Maid was lovely and generally the staff are friendly, but especially the bar staff at Pisces are genuinely a nice bunch of people. Food wasn’t as good as last year. We ate in the buffet and breakfast is probably the best. The hotel seems to cater for the American market and I’m sorry, but I didn’t come to the St Lucia to listen to ear splitting Country and Western music in the evening. You can blank out the music from the hideaway pool and main pool if you’re on the Hideaway beach area or up at the pool by Dips bar, which plays nice low key chill, Latin American jazz etc. They were playing some good tunes at the main pool foam party, the dj was playing some proper jump up style. I’ll come to St Lucia again, just not to Royalton. Will not be going to Rodney Bay either as the best part of Reduit Beach is being developed as a massive resort and it is criminal that such a beautiful spot is being ruined. Air BnB next time, like so many friends are doing.

This was anniversary trip and we had a nice room with Butler service. Room/common areas clean and maintained. A couple of issues with stained furniture, towels, and a lock that wouldn't work due to a dead battery were resolved in time. Food and drink were average for all-inclusive, but we expected better. We were on the "adult side" which was adequately separated from families/kids. Main complaint from my wife and I, along with several others trying to enjoy the pool, was the music! It totally ruined any time spent in outside areas. Trying to just relax or read was impossible. Excessively loud rap and hip hop. It was readily apparent that this was a choice made by the employees, and not the majority of patrons. When asked if they could change the music to anything different they seemed quite put off, would play one (and only one) Sinatra-esque style song, and then go back to the loud garbage they wanted to hear. I mentioned this concern to a few people who were with the hotel that seemed to be in a supervisory roll, yet they just smiled and acted as though I was speaking in a foreign language. The situation with the music alone will keep us from going back to this property, or any other Royalton resort.

Just back from this fabulous hotel. Stayed in the adults only Hideaway with Butler service. Suite was of a good size with a lovely view of bay. Perfect for watching the beautiful sunsets. Hotel is well planned out with many different pools. As a Diamond Guest (DM) you have access to all areas and some areas including pools and bars are exclusive for Diamond Hideaway guests. The Buffet restaurant has specific tables as well for DG. We experienced fab service generally but just a few occasions service was very slow as mentioned in other reviews. Just relax and be polite. The Martini Mix bar often ran out of glasses and not enough staff to cope with demand. Probably due to so many wanting cocktails. The beach bars and A la Carte restaurants offer great food and everything is cooked fresh. However we didn’t like the Food Truck. The standards fell short generally to all other areas of hotel. On a downside and an important one, after a long journey from Gatwick to St Lucia we were met by a mini bus that was ready for the scrap yard. It almost ceased up several times during the transfer (2 hours). The island is very hilly and it would have been lovely to have taken in the views along the way but we were all anticipating the breakdown. It was also uncomfortable and no water to consume on board. As a 5* resort the mini bus should be able to cope easily with the hills and with Royalton branding and air-con. It wasn’t a good first impression. We booked a private transfer for the return. The staff throughout the hotel are extremely polite Samuel works tirelessly on the beach clearing up after lazy guests who can’t put towels in the bins provided. Don in Grazie was so happy it was a pleasure to see her. Such a lovely natured lady. Shane on the Entertainment Team is an absolute treasure and so so talented. What a lovely guy. Be sure not to miss the Country night with Shevron - the best night! The street party in Gros Eylet is also a must. We went out for lunch at nearby beach restaurant (short taxi ride) The Naked Fisherman Very expensive but it was a special occasion. We visited Rodney Marina and had a local chap Lincoln take us to nearby beach in his boat. Very informative and a great guy. Would recommend. You tell him what time to pick you up and he’s there. Overall a fabulous trip and would recommend it. Thank you Saint Lucia and The Royalton.

After a 2 hour ride from the airport, we arrived to learn they had overbooked reservations then put us in a room we did not ask for and called it an upgrade for ONE night. This was to their convenience NOT ours because after a long day of travel, we couldn't get comfortable and would now have to gather our belongings again be out by noon and wait 2-3 hours to be assigned another room the next day. We got to the so called upgraded room to learn the toilet did not flush and there was no running cold water to cool down the scalding shower. We spoke with manager Mervin the following day. He was of course apologetic and nice but had little power to do anything to accommodate without approval from the general manager which we never saw. We felt they should have automatically offered to comp or discount the first night as a start then offer something for our inconvenience. Nevertheless, we got through that rough night starting our holiday. The remainder of the stay was just ok. The overall customer service throughout the resort was subpar. There were of course a few exceptions that made the experience positive. The food and service was excellence at the chef's table. Also Kernisha at the excursion desk was one of the kindest people on the entire property. She gave great customer service with a big smile everyday. St Lucia is great but we would definately stay at Sandals next time we visit.

On our last day here and I have some do’s and don’ts Don’t accept an upgrade at the hotel unless you want to be forced to change rooms when they sell your upgraded room. We spent an entire day with a room change after unpacking our bags and settling in. At 11am on our 3rd day, we got a call saying that we needed to pack up and change rooms. After many many phone calls, I literally had to refuse to leave our room until the next room was ready. I sat in the room for 5 hours waiting for a room that was going to be ready in 45 mins. Otherwise, we would have had no room in the middle of our stay for hours. Don’t think Marriott will help you once you’re there no matter what level you are. We are Titanium, and contacted Marriott beforehand to make sure we would have no problems, trying to make sure we set up everything correctly. Oh, yes, everything will be great, we were assured. When they told us we had to pack up and move, we called and called and were finally told that Marriott has no ability to help you once you’re there. But they are happy to file a complaint and give you some points. Super. Don’t believe anything the hotel tells you before you arrive. I sent emails to several people at the hotel-including many who are the ones replying to bad reviews here with apologies. Once we got here, no one at the hotel would help us with anything and they denied having said what they had written back to us. I’m sure that when Serrgeo or Christian or Keisha respond to this review they will tell me how sorry they are. They do seem to be great at apologizing as they certainly have lots of experience doing that. Don’t believe anyone when they tell you that the next person, who comes on at 2pm, 9am or sometime on the second Tuesday of the week, will be able to resolve your problem. They either never arrive or they have no idea why the last person told you they could help. Don’t plan to sleep later than 6:30am because you have to race out and secure a place by the pool or you’re out of luck. Also, you have to make reservations for dinner on the app when it clicks on at 7am. But don’t count on the app. We never once were able to make a reservation. Don’t believe what anyone tells you about room service or housekeeping. If you need anything, and you will because the rooms are poorly stocked, you will wait hours and will have to call multiple times. Also, you have to wait in your room because they can’t come in without you there. Don’t expect a 5 star experience with the room. The rooms are definitely run down. We didn’t see any mold like others have mentioned, but they are shabby. Do expect that the staff will either be lovely and gracious or look at you like they want to kill you. They seemed to be very short staffed. Most of the staff just looked tired and angry. Do expect that the beach front, the pools and the common areas are very nice. It’s a beautiful spot. Have a few drinks or an edible by the ocean and you may forget what a sh*tshow the hotel is. Do go to the gelato spot. They have fabulous coffee drinks. Do order multiple items from room service. One serving of bacon is one piece of bacon. One cheesecake is literally a tiny one bite piece. And do expect to wait. Do expect to spend much of your vacation trying to figure out the app. Even the front desk has no idea how the app works. If you’re lucky that one person who can figure it out for you will show up at some point, but count on eating at the international default buffet more than you wanted because the app doesn’t work and you can’t make reservations. Do count on a two hour drive from the airport. Do yourself a favor and book a nice car, otherwise it will be miserable. If after this, you still plan to book here, do give yourself credit for your boundless sense of adventure and your apparently admirable optimism that things might work out better for you. That’s why we booked inspite of the bad reviews and now we just want to go back home.

Now that my trip is over. And my stay at this hotel is over I just want to say this is the rudest, Non accommodating resort ever. From the start we were quoted a price to upgrade into diamond club(Courtney)they automatically ungraded us with the price we were not quoted! Then we get there and the two women(Sara Lee &Naz) at the desk will not change it to what was said. (Eye rolls and rushing us to hurry up and check in so she can get back to gossiping &laughing.(Sara Lee&Nas) Being rude to my husband! No welcome drinks that they give to you! Just get up go to the bar yourself! The hideaway lobby staff is one big joke because they give information without thinking first! Made us go to the main lobby & almost missed our transfer saying we did not book with them but everyone knows the car services name. Naz asked me to take a survey& I gave a 3 and advised on the sheet no one said anything. She continued to laugh with her co workers & do no real work to fix any problem. We brought our own bags down& had to ask for a cart to the main lobby. Every time yeah go to the main lobby. All these things made me glad I decided not to stay with diamond club. A honeymoon couple described that they were having more problems than us. A waste of money. Sheryl was suppose to be at her station to meet with us never was there. Let’s move on to the food&service! The hostess were there extremely rude at the hibachi restaurant Zen. No hats at the habachi guessing because the fire show! No fire! She said she does not allow hats not the hotel but she.Very rude woman. Called the hotel& said it’s no such policy! Food was over cooked and over seasoned. I get my steak medium and they were always medium well or well done! If you want steak you might as well say rare you might get it cooked right! Not good at any restaurant. Drinks were subpar. Just throwing things together. No one is at the swim up bar for hideaway you have to look for the bar staff at the top! Extremely annoying. The adults only side is very quiet accept for the foam party! Only has one adult restaurant the rest is shared! Pool is close to the family pool. Rooms were clean but the smell is nose piercing! You can tell they are masking mold or mildew smells. All in all the only thing I enjoyed was going on the island but who ever owns this hotel should do a staff sweep of the people who are making you miss out on money, sales, accommodation, &good reviews. If you want to feel like your money was worth it stay somewhere else. They are ruining it. My room was 3111! We go on two overseas trips a year & this has not been a good one.

Overall upkeep of the property was fantastic, bartenders and butlers were phenomenal they attended to every need or request with a smile. Brendan was exceptional in his bartending duties as well as all bartenders in the hideaway bar. The vibe team was excellent, especially Samantha and Travis, as far as the rest of the restaurant staff we were met with rolling eyes as we asked to have plates cleared or bring more coffee, it’s like we asked for their first born or something, maybe it’s the culture but if you spend that amount of money you expect to be pampered. Elevators are a joke, there’s no upkeep with them, control panels left wide open, numerous stalls on elevator, myself was stuck in elevator for 40 minutes, it was a nice place to see but I would never go back and I would not recommend it to anyone!

First impressions count and on arrival at the hotel we were treated with total disrespect, in fact I would go as far as to say it must be like this when you are processed in going to a secure prison. The staff were rude and condescending and grabbed hold of our arms to put on the bracelets like we were being security tagged. No offer of a welcome drink at all. It was a horrible experience. Our room was in the Diamond Club Hideway Section. On entering the room the smell of damp and mould was overpowering. Having just gone through the awful check in experience, I really didn’t like to make a fuss about the room just in case we were thrown out of the hotel. We put up with the smell for about 5 days and then due to the concern of mould spores in the air conditioning unit we requested a room move and Carla our butler sorted this out for us. She agreed that the smell was concerning. Unfortunately on checking out the reception staff wanted to charge us for a room move!! The bed was extremly confortable and pillows good. Our butlers were Merkel and Carla. All our dinner reservations were made via the butler service and they were very responsive via WhatsApp, as well as finding us throughout the day at the resort just to check in to say hello and if we needed anything. As to the staff (except in the Diamond Club Hideaway Building 1 staff), all the staff were lovely, always a smile and a greeting and very responsive if you asked them in return how they were. I really think as a 1st contact the attitude of staff in Block 1 needs to be addressed. We spent most of our days on the beach by the Pisces bar which was friendly and efficient, shout out to Brian and Leandy. Unfortunately there was the usual people who reserved sunbeds and never came back tot hem until middle of the afternoon and nothing is done about it. Also families with young children came up to the Hideaway part of the beach for adult only to feed the fish, we feel that we pay a premium for no families and yet again no staff kept this under control; We spent most of our evenings at the Aquarius Bar as the entertainment was not to our liking and was repetitive and noisy, the Vibe team feeling the need to ‘shout’ down the microphones. The atmosphere around the Aquarius bar was more to our liking. Restaurants, we only used the Buffet for lunch, the speciality restaurants, the Dorado was our favourite for dinner and Grazie trattoria for breakfast. We loved the Zen Teppanyaki and Hunters Steak House, but were not keen on Calypso and Armadillo so only went one to those last 2. The minuses part of the holiday: Check in – rude customer service in Block 1 Room are lovely and big but need a little TLC - mould on some of the walls, wardrobe doors not sliding very well, need repairing. Mini fridge, had missing door shelf, door to cupboard fridge housing would not close flush Beach towels are awful, threadbare and bleach stains on them, I would definitely recommend taking your own. Sunbeds are awful, stained and fabric so when it rains they get soaked and people just tend to leave their towels there for the staff to clear up instead of returning to the towel cabin booth. I think they should have a towel card so you only get 1 towel at a time. They ran out of towels numerous times when there was a downpour as well! I cant say we had a bad experience as you have to make your holiday your own and if you are constantly finding fault with everything you wont enjoy yourself. Its definitely not a 5 star hotel and needs a little work. Would I return, probably not but wouldn’t put anyone off going .

This is NOT an "adults only" resort. The Hideway is simply a section of the Royalton resort that is for adults only. It has 1 pool, a beach area, a pool bar, an evening bar and a small restaurant. All other restaurants, pools, bars, beach, entertainment is shared with the Royalton family resort. So if you think you're booking an adult only resort like we thought, you are not. So most meals had kids running around. Not the vacay we were looking for. When you are at the Hideway pool, you overlook the large Royalton family pool, so of course the family noise carries as well. The resort is very nice and has many food options. It just wasn't what we thought we were going to. The restaurants were not horrible like so many reviews I read before. It is resort food, so it's not fine dining, but it was good. The buffet just needs to keep their food warmer. We thought the best restaurant was the Dorado in the Hideway, but it does have a small menu that doesn't change throughout the week. The rooms were fine. We had an ocean view jr suite in Bldg 2. The room was clean, we did have an ocean view and our housekeeper Maxilina did a great job taking care of us. They do include shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion in the room as well as a hairdryer. The bed was very comfortable. No compaints on our room. I read alot of reviews about rude employees. We found that to be completely untrue. The staff was top notch, from check in, to bartenders to waiters. They were so friendly and did a great job. Shout out to Sam and Travis from the Vibe team, bartenders Brenden, Stephen, Johnny, Reena, and Coconut Sam. They kept the drinks and conversation flowing! The one issue we noticed is that we are "rule followers", and they do not enforce most of their rules. Dress code, smoking in the pool and at the bar and most irritating, we pay extra to be at the adult only Hideaway section and yet there were Royalton people constantly coming into that section to drink, lay out, etc and they were not told to leave. The space is limited, not enough lounges at the beach or pool so when you see Royalton people taking up that space, it's irritating. Now all the complaints about the drive, yes it takes 2 hours by car on a 27 mile long island to get to the resort. It's narrow windy roads. The resort can't help that. But it's nice to know in advance. You can take a helicoper for $200 per person or a ferry (not sure of that cost). All in all, it is a beautiful resort, the staff is great and many dining options. I won't return only because I prefer an adult only resort when I am on vacation.

The hotel was amazing, the staff was incredible and the food was outstanding. We stayed at the hideaway diamond club with the most mazing view of the cove. We fell asleep listening to the waves crashing and woke up to the same wonderful sound each morning. The restaurants we all amazing with their choices and portions. At check in we were greeted with a smile and there was smiles throughout the entire resort. one hiccup and that was they gave me the wrong room and took them a couple of days to fix it, but they did and we were happy. On some of the reviews people were saying the hotel is outdated but we did not experience this and our rooms were perfect. The ride from the airport is a rollercoaster that is for sure but well worth it once you get to the hotel. You do have a choice to book a helicopter from the airport to take you north which you would land at an airport about 20 minutes from the resort at $220 USD person or take the shuttle for an 1.5 to 2 hour ride free with your package. While we were there we did the street party held on Friday nights in the local town and it was awesome and I would highly suggest doing it. the party doesn't really start till late but so much fun. We also got tattoo's while there and this guy was incredible 758 Limitless Tattoo Bonne Terre gap, St Lucia. Chris is amazing. 758-722-3509 I would highly suggest this resort.

This was our 3rd stay at this resort (2017 + 2022 + 2025) The staff are the nicest people you could wish for, all of the staff are super friendly making sure you have a great time. The land transfer from the airport is around 1hr 45mins depending on traffic There are 2 other options, Sea/boat Transfer and Air/helicopter We took the mini-bus direct to the hideaway lobby, check-in took about 15mins We stayed in room 1110 (Building 1, Floor 1, Room 10) Building 1 is for Hideaway & Diamond Club guests only There are 5 floors in building 1, Ground floor is all swim out rooms Room 10 is 1st floor at the far end facing out to the ocean We could not have wished for a better room, the balcony was a perfect size with a stunning ocean/cove view (see my photos). Our room was kept spotlessly clean with fresh towels and mini-fridge restocked daily. We tried every restaurant (except the Culinary Experience) they were all excellent however, our favorite meal was always the midday Diamond Club Beach Bar & Grill. There are plenty of beach towels and sun beds around the resort, all the swimming pools and Jacuzzi were kept crystal clean. We hired a private cabana with pool on Sunday which was on the foam party day, so had a perfect location for all the fun and music. The beach is a cove with soft sand (no rocks) the ocean is warm with a few rocks each side, we took the kayaks out a few times which is free and fun. The resort grounds are clean and perfectly kept. Evening entertainment was great from a spectacular fire show to an amazing country singer. We enjoyed 2 excursions, Soufriere Adventure Cruise & Party Sunset Cruise both booked via Nexus Tours and both were excellent. My wife and I have travelled extensively, particularly around the Caribbean (check my TripAdvisor profile) and we both agree that the staff at this resort are both exceptionally friendly, professional & went above and beyond, so we made a list of some of these stand out staff members and hope that the management read this review and congratulate the staff members listed below: Petra John – Very professional, helping us with a special request Sylvanie & Dell our 2 amazing butlers, best butlers we have ever had 10/10 Dwayne our cabana butler, very attentive and efficient Diamond Club area: Alma, Kerry, Marlon, Inga, Garie, Helon, Hanner, Lakisha, Kimani, Nicole & Naveed Pool Guy: Jefferson and his team kept the pools spotless clean plus they tested the water conditions continually Hideaway Area: Kurdisha, Antionio and Jonny Overall we have an amazing time and will be returning for sure.

My fiancé and I had an incredible time at the Hideaway at Royalton in St. Lucia. We were especially impressed with Travis from the Vibe Team, who went above and beyond every day to make our trip unforgettable. His energy was unmatched, always inviting us to join in on entertainment activities and ensuring we were comfortable. The Hideaway bar was another highlight of our stay. Kurdisha, Liana, Jonny, Samuel, and Reena provided outstanding service, consistently going out of their way to ensure we had an exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived until the end of our trip, they looked after us with care and enthusiasm. We genuinely recommend asking for any of these amazing individuals during your visit. Their dedication and service made our trip unforgettable, and we will definitely be returning because of them.

The service was terrible. Definitely NOT worth the money. Going to breakfast, you’d think they would serve coffee right away… not so, usually 20 minutes. One breakfast we were leaving as the staff brought us our requested napkins. The attitude of the staff was horrible. Not sure why the managers don’t fire these people, I’m sure there’s plenty of people on the island who would love a job. Coffee in our room the day we arrived, but that was it for the rest of the week. Towels often missing from the room and had to call to get them replaced. Coffee in the lobby was available AFTER the staff person felt like turning on the machine… once the line was long enough. Heaven forbid you ask for cream… you might get 2. The food was so so, but definitely not a 5 star resort. You had to share menus because there weren’t enough to go around. The fish restaurant was missing the 2 main fish choices on the menu, not to mention the specials were out of season but still on the menu. The steak house doesn’t give you a steak knife, until you place your order ( probably because they don’t have enough). The ZEN restaurant was the best food, but hurry up, because they ask you to leave for the next seating. The bars are not fully stocked at all. Certain spirits are only available at certain bars. There is no grapefruit juice, no limes, no margarita glasses, sometimes no ice ~ as you wait for them to retrieve some. Poolside there were plenty of towels ( a plus there ) and the pools were clean… but you may or may not have the hot tub running. After asking for 2 days, it was finally on for a day, with intermittent operation. Kayaking, looked like new equipment and new life PFD’s but was limited to the 100 yards the staff could see you. We noticed most people were only out about 10 minutes… boring. Sailing ~ the boats are down for repairs, ALL 3 of them! but no worries, the staff were busy on their phones ~ U Tube must know how to fix them, I’m sure it’s a multi week repair. Listening to other folks, the only way to get service at all was to tip the staff on day one… but isn’t that just rewarding poor behavior! So if you want a cup of coffee or a napkin, be prepared to tip the staff to get anything. Not worth the money we spent. Will definitely never go back.

What a great experience my husband & I had at the hideaway. Our room was in building one, the room itself was good. The maid service was on point. Cleaning done & the fridge restocked daily. Our room faced the beach, the view was absolutely stunning! We opted for the Diamond Club upgrade for our stay. What a good choice this was! The diamond service comes with a butler service as part of the package . Our butler Raymond was spot on from day one . From organising our bookings for the onsite restaurants , to supplying our lunch at the poolside , we did not have to move a muscle. Any issues we encountered , he quickly resloved .The site itself is well maintained with ample bars that are walk up & swim up. The food in the restaurants was really good with the steak house (Hunters) as the stand out one for me . We visited this one three times durng our 14 night stay. Raymond booked into the restaurants for our first 8 nights stay, so we never experienced the buffet the first week. The buffet itself was adequate & I have no complaints on the quality of the food on offer, but the restaurants are another level. The bulter service really did enhance our experience on holiday , with Raymond & Janin going above & beyond on some of our requests. I would definately recommend when booking, you upgrade to the Diamond Club option. Many thanks Royalton

The evening entertainment was consistently loud and terrible. On the plus side, the room was very nice and spacious, the layout of gardens and pools was good and the beach was nice.

My Husband and I had the most amazing time at the Royalton Hideaway, St Lucia from the moment we arrived and throughout our two week stay. The hotel location was beautiful and everyone was so friendly and staff always spoke and said 'hello' when passing even when they were just walking about the resort in transit from one area to another. I have mentioned this because it really annoyed us that other reviews have commented about how rude staff can be and we wanted to clarify we did not find this the case under any circumstances! Also we note a number of comments about the hotel not being Adult only and we will say that if only people would read things properly they would see the Adult only section is only a bit of the complex which by the way, was absolutely fine with us as the main complex was as excellent as the rest. The restaurant, bar, housekeeping staff were always courteous and helpful throughout our stay. We would like to give a special mention to out Butlers Raymond and Kurtney, who always gave us friendly courteous attention right up to making sure we sure the private transfer service to the airport we booked all went smoothly. Also a big thank you to Sari in the Pisces bar and Carcashe in the Aquarius bar for their chats and great service. The hotel itself was clean, and the rooms very comfortable. The grounds beautifully looked after. We booked a private transfer to and from the airports which worked well and was very informative and scenic so athough the journey was 1.5 hours, it didn't seem that long. The only negative point was the 'packs' of noisy Americans of which most of them had no respect for other residents or staff! We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone wanting that 'special' holiday and we would certainly like to return in the future. It was the wonderful staff that made our holiday so special and memories we will treasure forever.

I could not have been more disappointed with this resort. The biggest issue is that it is advertised as "Adults only" and It is NOT. There are in fact actually 2 sections to this resort. The section that is considered, "Adults Only" applies only to the building you are staying in, one pool with a small pool bar, one outdoor bar with a small entertainment area, and one subpar restaurant. All of the other restaurants are a 5 minute walk to the area that includes families with lots of children. The majority of the entertainment is also on family side. The limited gift shops are also only on the other side. The beach, although nice, has a roped section that is supposed to divide the adults only section from family side. This was not honored or enforced. Even if it had been, there were lots of screaming kids nearby. There were lots of vendors on the beach that pestered you every single day. I don't mind once or even twice but they won't stop. I love kids but when you are paying for Adults Only Resort, I expect it to be just that. The resort also feels rundown and not well maintained. As an example, the only elevator in our building was not in service for an entire day. We were not greeted in a "resort way" with a welcoming drink and warm personality. The person who checked us in was lackluster in personality. The vibe and service in the resort is SLOW and Relaxed which can be nice at times but uncomfortable at others. Overall, the weather was excellent as were the drinks but only on the Adults Only side. The liquor selection at the other bars were low-end only. The entertainment was very good in the evening. When comparing to other resorts, the best I can give it is a 2 and I would not return because it is NOT Adults ONLY!

When we landed in St Lucia I was quickly grateful to all those reviews who suggested that you get a private transfer. The buses we saw for other holiday makers quite frankly looked scary and we were grateful to get in an air conditioned taxi. The transfer by taxi was an hour and 40 mins to the hotel. At first glance the hotel and grounds are stunning and the planting is beautiful but at closer inspection the hotel does needs some TLC. We went to the adults only Hideaway part of the resort which has it's own reception, pool area and bars as well as one adults only restaurant. On our second week we struggled to get a sun lounger round the adults pool as people would put out towels at 7 am to get the best spots! The rest of the facilities including restaurants, bars and pools are family friendly so if you are looking for a true adults only experience this may not be the hotel for you. The staff were usually friendly but some did come across as having no interest in their jobs at all! The room was huge with a whirlpool bath and twin showers. Our room had a shower leak and it took two complaints and lots of towels catching the drips before we were moved rooms. The mini fridge was stacked with branded soft drinks and water but there was only coffee making facilities with no kettle for beloved tea! There is an amazing coffee shop on the complex as part of the all inclusive and we spent a lot of time there getting teas, coffees and ice creams from the lovely staff. There were 6 restaurants to choose from and you had to download their app and could only book two days in advance unless you had the butler service as they managed to book another couple's dining for the whole week. As the hotel got busier we could only book two restaurants for the second week and were at the mercy of the buffet for the rest of the time. As a gluten allergy sufferer I did find eating a bit of a battle at first but Yazz from F & B notified all of the restaurants who could then include something on the menu for me with the Italian restaurant being our favourite by far! The buffet restaurant which anyone could go to was more of an issue as they had labels stating gluten free and when i checked was told the labels were wrong and after this happened for a second time i only ever ate salad and fruit from the buffet as i could not trust the food not to make me ill! The entertainment was either amazing or truly terrible with the Michael Jackson night being a low point which had us howling with laughter for all the wrong reasons! This went on a rolling weekly basis so by our second week we knew what to avoid! The hotel has nothing in walking distance so it is taxis for all journeys and being at the top of the island meant some expensive taxi rides. My tip would be to take US dollars and not Eastern Caribbean as we were told to get as the hotel and taxi drivers prefer it. Tipping the bar staff to get served a drink so that you don't end up waiting for ages for a refill. Overall we had an amazing time but felt the hotel could do more to earn it's status as a five star hotel as I believe in the UK it would only have been a 4 star.

Like many comments I was also puzzled by the conflicting reviews for this side of the resort and for the Royalton side. Everyone has their own experiences and can voice them. For us this trip was an amazing experience. I’m going to be long and detailed as I feel the place deserves it. I’ll give lots of goods, a couple not so goods, and a bunch of tips that may help some people have a good trip. First off Saint Lucia is a unique island so that was worth the extra couple hours on the plane from Toronto. Bit of background have not travelled a lot but been to the main places (mexico gulf resorts, Punta Cana, jamacia, Cuba), and more specific to this review this was our 4th Hideaway (Negril is remaining) and 1st time since the app was launched (many resorts are starting to use an app which we like). Of the 4 Hideaways this one was our favourite (the app pushed it over the top) even though this was the first time we didn’t choose a swim out room. We upgraded to Diamond so there are only 10 of that type of room and they go many months in advance. I feel doing a bit of preplanning helps our trips and I feel if others did so as well they might have had a better time. Example is whether you upgrade to Diamond (in a nutshell on the Hideaway side that means you stay in Building 1 which is facing the ocean, closest to the beach, and mostly closer to the amenities. Plus you get to go to Grazie for breakfast/lunch, the Diamond area beach, pool, lounge [all located over by Buildings 7, 8 which is Royalton Diamond area [family side], you get an extra day to book al a cartes in advance, upgraded room service, you get butlers that help you with almost anything, plus a few other perks). Whether you upgrade or not however once you book I recommend you budget in doing the $60US Online Room Selection off the main website. Doing this you get a map of the resort and you get to pick the exact room you want. Depending on the room category this can mean picking different floors or ends of buildings, king or 2 queen beds, etc. We’ve always done this but now there is a new perk. Since you know your room number a week out from arrival you can do the Online Check In and you’ll be able to log into the app. Not much you can do yet but for Diamond 3 days out and Hideaway 2 days out you can book your al a carte for your first night. For Diamond your butlers used to be the only way to book and Hideaway you had to walk up day of. Now you can book online. For Diamond you get the additional day head start to pick, get more options, plus you can always wait and let your butlers book them. I booked our first 3 al a cartes before I arriving then talked with the butlers when we got there and I just kept booking my own. But you can let them take over if you wish but for everyone having the chance to pick your first day(s) meals really takes the stress off trying to arrive first and wondering if you will end up at the buffet. Some people love that but we have at 4 Hideaways never ate at the buffet there is always a sit down place. The resort lay out in the horseshoe shape is such a good idea. The place is beautiful as almost everyone has said. Rooms are huge. Where I differ from people giving lower stars is I didn’t see much of anything wrong. If you look for it is there some humidity damage to some things, yes. Is it any worse then other Caribbean resorts or even hotels in North America, no. Our walk in double rain shower (which all rooms get with a separate jetted tub) was slow to drain a couple days if someone had to force me to make a complaint. Are some cushions stained, yes. My new cream coloured patio cushions at my house that I got last year that I sprayed 2 cans of fabric protector on are also already stained. The resort has a million towels they put them out multiple times a day take 2 and cover the lounger. Onto the staff, of the 100+ staff I’d say we met there 99% had a smile, made eye contact and greeted you. If it was even 1% they were still nice just maybe were having a hard moment. It’s a balancing act the guests paid a lot of money to go there and they want to relax and be pampered. The staff they work in the service industry so they have to be on stage when around guests. But I’ve travelled enough and witnessed it enough that some people cannot be pleased and they hurt the morale for everyone else. I’ll give a example what I saw at our last al a carte at the Dorado. 2 couples (Diamond) that must have recently arrived as I didn’t see them during the past week. I hope she and her husband read this even though a personality like hers it won’t change anything. They sit down and the wife first thing says she wants shrimp with her pasta (no shrimp on the menu that evening) and the server goes back and confirms the chef can do that. The 2 wives then proceed to speed write on what’s app to their butlers who knows what tasks, then the 1 calls the butler. Then they start looking on the app at the next nights menu. The appetizers came and using her fingers she pushed the husbands food around like he was a child. Then when the food comes she complained to the server about the special meal she got as “something” was not to her liking. Then when she was done she literally snapped her fingers and said something about a ticket and being done? Whatever that meant. They got up and walked out, no tip, no thank you. There is no way they enjoyed that meal and they negatively effected everyone around them. The husband who was a spitting image for Morris from that old show Storage Wars Texas never spoke a word and just stared at her the whole time. The other couple just sat there as well and let her treat all the staff like that. If not for my wife asking me not to make a scene on our last night there would have been one. Giving this example to say in my opinion 99% of the staff are great and 95% of the guests are great but that 5% of Karen/Darren’s are what effect peoples perceptions. I’m not letting those people lower my rating since there is always going to be a few of them when you concentrate people together at the airport, travel to resort, dining out for 20 meals in a row. They do effect a vacation however don’t take it out on the resort they are the ones that have to deal with them all day long. Another complaint you see is getting to the resort from the airport. I fail to see how that is the resorts fault? The airport is in the south and the resort in the north west. If you don’t want to have to travel the last 27 miles after travelling the thousands then pick a different place. You also have 4 options, the mini buses that are for the most part free with packages, a private transfer (we picked this option), by boat, or by helicopter. All have good things and bad things depending how much you want to spend and how you want to get there. I get motion sickness easily but the drive was wonderful. On a scale of 1 to 10 it was maybe a 2. I felt the windy road but the views were beautiful and it was a nice way to see the island. We used HotSpeedTours and they were amazing. Thank you to Nigel and Zinfandel. Highly recommend them and you can find them on FB and on the web. Pre-booking excursions, booking with Nexus or Royalton at the resort, or using one of the groups that advertise on the beach (we chose this with Julian’s Tours and JJs Tours), you have so many options it’s all about what you want. Do you want to go that day or do you like to book a few days out, do you want to pay in cash, do you want a small group or do you want to go on a large boat, do you want to go by water or car, etc. We wanted a speedboat and to do the classics such as mud bath, waterfall, Piton pics. Our excursion was A+ and all the people involved top notch. Thank you to Cap’t Jack and Lion. The food, once again we had no complaints. We went to every restaurant (other then buffet as I mentioned above and the food truck by the kids splash pool). The food was amazing as it always is at Royalton. Only complaint is that it’s too good and you get to pick so many things (starter, soup, main, side, dessert) that again this trip I was actually having to say no to food even though I wanted it. For big eaters at an al a carte. They will help you choose let’s say an extra side or even an extra main if you want it. Plus you have the option of buffet or room service. Drinks, there was a couple times at one bar they might be out of a certain item but the next would have it. Sometimes the top shelf bottles were gone even in Diamond but again if that’s going to ruin your vacation chances are something else was going to anyways. There are bars all over this resort and they made good drinks and the staff were all nice. Pools were all nice. Beach like others say is nice but small, water is nice but not a big area to swim and there are rocks and sea grass. The cove it sits in sets a nice tone for the resort and it matched it nicely. Because of the rocks and sea grass there are thousands of fish swimming around. I brought my snorkel but only took it out near the end of the trip. Big mistake as I would have used it everyday there was so many fish to look at. Bring fish food or grab an extra piece of bread they will eat from your hand. Speaking of that there are a few cute cats at the resort. We brought cat treats and treated them each day. If you choose please toss a bag in your luggage and treat them they are so sweet. We also brought dog treats that we dropped off at the beach at Pigeon Island (a public beach and a $10 park where you can climb 2 hills a short trail from the resort or a quick taxi ride, we made a 1/2 day of it and walked the trail). Lots of stray dogs there they don’t allow them on the resort. Again if you want you can bring treats for them over there. A special shout out needs to go to Sephra at the Hideaway check in. She checked us in and checked us out and was so nice both times. She even went around at check out and found my wife’s travel hoodie that she had left at check in a week earlier. They had kept it waiting for someone to come and claim it. Onto tipping, lots of questions about how much and when. I budget in tipping when I travel, even more so when going to Cuba as they need it more. It’s not required but I like to and I tip pretty much every interaction. I didn’t feel anyone treated me better because I did and the next person didn’t. The staff all had a nice attitude if you gave they appreciated it but didn’t expect it. Another complaint you see. People complain that there are kids that you can see and hear at the resort. Hideaway is a resort within a resort that like Sanctuaries in Cuba (all under the same Blue Diamond umbrella of hotels) has it listed on travel websites under separate hotels. Some other resorts the “adults only” section is an upgrade to choose. At Royalton this can confuse some people into thinking Hideaway is on its own. You can stay only in the Hideaway section never venturing to the Royalton family section if you choose to but then you miss out on all that section has to offer. You will see kids since it’s a shared space on the Royalton side so if that’s an issue I’d suggest choosing the Royalton CHIC resorts (there are 3) as these so not have a family side. That being said a suggestion to the resort would be the signage and transition between Hideaway, Diamond, and Royalton sections could be better marked and monitored. There was not many instances where there was crossover but there was some (mostly in the water and beach where kids were coming to Hideaway side following the fish). Resorts never want to have to tell a guest no so marking a bit better would help. The room key card being on a wrist band is the best thing ever. They have been doing this at Royalton for years and not having to worry about a key card is refreshing. Once you try it then have to go back to needing one at other resorts you will miss it. Only thing is they warn you if you lose it it’s $150US so check on the metal clasp and knot from time to time and have them redo it if loose. We only saw the up side of the escalator not working once the whole week. We were on second floor and used the stairs but the couple we used the elevator it worked fine. They were constantly renovating spots around the resort so they are doing their best to fix any issues. We never saw any management walking around the resort but when I think about it that’s something I see more at Cuban resorts. I did see staff with checklists at bars and restaurants checking what was needed for the next day so that they’d be stocked up. In conclusion The Hideaway at Royalton Saint Lucia was our favourite resort we have stayed at so far. I’ve never repeated a resort as there are many more we want to visit (as mentioned above Hideaway Negril, the Royalton CHICs, etc). But I’ve already been looking at dates and prices for this resort and am seriously considering going back to back here which is showing how great it was.

My wife and I have just had an amazing holiday over the last two weeks at the hideaway Royalton hotel. Firstly I have to say that we never had anything but absolute first class service from every member of staff on the resort. At times you could see the staff incredibly busy especially in the run up to Easter when the hotel is full and it was a credit to them all. We also experienced some really poor guest behaviour through no fault with the staff who kept there wits about them, again a credit to them all. There are so many food options and therefore it will come down to personal preference. We rated each one on the APP after each visit and we definitely had our favorite - the grazie (Italian) and dorado(seafood) were right for us with a special call Out for the dorado-that was included as part of the diamond club but well worth it. Our only single issue here was when the hotel got full, getting shade by the hideaway pool Became nearly impossible unless you got up early. You can just about find some shade elsewhere but having opted for the hideaway and diamond club the thought of getting up at 6:30am to put towels on a sunbed wasn’t what we expected to have to do. The location is spectacular with some of the most amazing sunsets and we did go on several trips that were great fun and got us to see parts of this amazing island. Would recommend this to others and if like us you consider it a privilege to be welcomed onto this beautiful island and want to join in and share experiences, music and fun, incredible scenery, relaxation at its best and you are open to talk to the amazing people on the island then this is a must trip! One point on the diamond club package- we selected this to get access to the dorado a la carte restaurant. As part of this we were provided with the most amazing support from ferna and Neil- thanks to them both for trying so hard to make everything perfect as they could.

I do not have enough words for how helpful Nancy was - she was accessible, kind, knowledgeable, professional and so responsive to my wish to make this a very special holiday. Nancy was wonderful in making sure that from the time of arrival when we came into a beautifully decorated room to when we left with special mementoes of our visit we had a very special time. The Royalton is a beautiful hotel and we would probably come back anyway just because of the service and support provided by Nancy. You can be very proud of of her as a member of staff. I would also like to mark the service provided by Jose who served us for Julie's birthday evening meal at Grazie and who led colleagues in singing the birthday song to Julie. I would also like to thank Veronica of Room Service who made sure we came back each day to a beautifully clean and tidy room.

This was our 12th stay at a Royalton hotel, and our 3rd stay at St Lucia Hideaway. With each stay you think… it can’t get any better? But YES, this stay was our best holiday at a Royalton and we will defiantly be returning next year. We have previously stayed at other Royalton hotels including; Rivera Cancun x3, Dominican Republic x1, Antigua x1 and Jamacia x4. We love the Royalton brand, which is perfect for our age group, Caribbean destinations and budget. I always worry about returning to a hotel, especially when our last holiday had been such a fantastic experience. This 3rd stay at Hideaway St Lucia, exceeded all our expectations and more. We truly didn’t want to return home, as the staff were beyond amazing, kind, friendly and went the extra mile plus. The Staff are an absolute credit to the hotel and to St Lucia, they made our holiday truly magical and we have memories we will treasure for ever. I would like to say a big Thank You to Petra John for ensuring our holiday was absolutely perfect and thank you for your kindness, organisation, which has made us want to return. Diamond Club Hideaway Room - 1110 (Building 1, Floor 1, Room 10) Room 1110 is a beautiful large sea-view room, which we could hear the ocean from our bed. We would wake up each morning to a stunning and breathtaking view. Butlers - Sylvanie and Dell Thank you to our two wonderful Diamond Club Butlers Sylvanie & Dell who made such a fuss of us, and the best Butlers we have ever had at a Royalton. Sylvanie was there to greet us when we arrived and showed us to our DC room, which had a “Welcome Back Banner” on our door. They would WhatsApp us every morning with the daily entertainment schedule, information and restaurant requests. Visit us at the pool to have a chat, catch-up and see if we needed anything. Sylvanie and Dell knew we were on an excursion and when we returned to a lovely surprise of a hot bubble bath, swan towel-art, a bottle of wine and the kindest handwritten note. The list could go on and on of acts of kindness and how they made us feel so special and welcomed. Dell & Sylvanie were so super-efficient, approachable and hardworking that our friends requested them both, as their Butlers too. Entertainment Day & Evening Since our last stay in 2017 & 2023, the entertainment has really expanded. Day time activities at the swim-up bar DJ Quame, who kept us entertained with top tunes and The Question Game, Arts & Crafts, Pool Olympics, Aqua Aerobics & Foam Parties at the main pool. The evening entertainment was a brilliant Country Singer, Live Bands, Vocalists, Themed Nights and one of the best Royalton White parties we have experienced including a must-see Fire show. Hideaway infinity Pool & Bar The pool was meticulously cleaned and tested every day by Jefferson; keeping the pool water crystal clean. Thank you to the brilliant Hideaway bartenders Antionio, Johnny and Kurdisha. Antionio made sure we were always topped up with our favourite Rum Angostrura 1824. Kurdisha brought the party to the pool with shots, bespoke cocktails and really looked after us. Kurdisha was so sweet and kind and came to say goodbye when we were leaving. In fact we had Sylvanie, Kurdisha and Kerry from DC all came to give us a send-off, honestly it really touched my heart to feel the kindness of these wonderful St Lucian people. Diamond Club Pool, Bar and lunch area –They serve the best premium liquors as part of the Diamond Club service. We went over to the Diamond Club pool / bar area every afternoon for lunch. We was always warmly welcomed by Kerry and Alma who took us to our favourite table and made us feel like royalty. In fact the service over at Diamond Club is another level, every member of staff went above and beyond giving a very personal service The Staff at the DC Bar are amazing, Inga made the most amazing cocktails, Marlon and Kerry remembered our favourite drinks and had them ready for us. Its these acts of kindness for all the staff that made this one of our Best holidays. Thank you also to Helon, Dwayne, Kimari, Garie, Naveed at DC and Hanner at the DC Lounge. The DC lunch time menu was amazing and cooked to perfection, thank you to the very talented chief’s Nicole and Lakisha. Thank you once again Hideaway Royalton St Lucia for another amazing holiday.
