Property:
The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, featuring multiple pools, a variety of restaurants, and a breathtaking garden. Every corner of the property is thoughtfully designed to showcase the beauty of Lake Como. (Maybe make the hot tub a little bit warmer :) )
Breakfast: 11/10
Breakfast here was a standout experience. From the spectacular views to the incredible buffet spread, it was unlike any breakfast I’ve ever had. Truly a feast for both the eyes and the palate!
Hospitality:
The staff provided excellent service throughout our stay. We also booked a boat tour on the lake through the hotel, and it was a memorable experience. The captain was friendly, and the tour offered stunning views of the lake.
Room:
Our room was extremely comfortable and even included a Dyson hair dryer—a luxurious touch that didn’t go unnoticed.
Overall, I have nothing but praise for this extraordinary hotel. The Grand Hotel Tremezzo perfectly blends luxury, comfort, and the charm of Lake Como.

Incredible classic hotel on Lake Como. We had a room overlooking the rear of the property’s pool and grounds but also had a side view of the lake. The staff was very helpful in making reservations for restaurants and with general questions. The breakfast is incredible with a huge buffet as well as made to order items. Definitely spend an afternoon having a drink or two on the front terrace bar watching the lake. We ate at all of the restaurants at the hotel and really loved the outdoor pool patio pizza/pasta restaurant in the rear. Also loved the free candy station in the lobby!!

We returned to the Tremezzo after a stay there a few years ago, because it was so fantastic. First, you should know that a Lakefront room is WELL WORTH IT!! We loved that mesmerizing view overlooking Lake Como. The entire facility is "crazy"!! From the floating front pool on the lake, to the indoor pool and spa (which are unusual and incredible), to the property garden at the rear, the Hotel Tremezzo has everything you could want. Even their daily brunch, extending throughout an entire ballroom just for the food, with a seating area overlooking the lake, are incredible. They arranged for a sedan to take us roundrip to Tirano to experience the World Heritage Bernina Express, up to the Swiss Alps. The driver was waiting at our destination to take us home to the hotel. Just can't say enough about this wonderful hotel. It's certainly at the top tier of hotels in Italy, and should be ranked a top hotel in the world. Thanks for a great return experience!!

My husband and stayed three nights at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo to celebrate my 65th birthday. We have travelled quite a bit and have stayed in some beautiful hotels but this hotel was truly exceptional. A special and sincere thank you to Carolina at reception who made us feel so welcomed and made our visit so memorable. We stayed in the Lake View Prestige Room which was simply stunning and with a charming balcony where you could stand/sit to take in the views of beautiful Lake Como. We had lunch at the T Pizza and indulged in Aperol Spritz's at the T-Bar . The dinner at La Terrazza was one of our most memorable highlights. The opulent buffet breakfast each morning was beyond exceptional! From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the very friendly valet staff, housekeeping was awesome and the sales associate at the hotel gift shop and ladies at the hair salon.spa were all so very nice. Admittedly, I even shed a few tears when we were leaving. The Grand Hotel Tremezzo is indeed a very beautiful hotel and our stay here has left an indelible place in our hearts.

Just returned from Grand Hotel Tremezzo a few days ago. While the opulence of the decor seeks to impress, the customer service is NOT impressive. At 1300 euros/ night and being a 5 star hotel, we thought thus would be an impeccable experience but was the opposite. We were told on numerous occasions that there was no availability at 3 of their restaurants (930pm) while there was abundant available seating. Also told we could not order food in restaurant adjacent to bar—only drinks while others were dining and placing food orders. We accepted the “drinks only” mandate, yet the waitress proceeded to provide a menu. Big disconnect between multiple hosts and waiters. A basic cocktail ( gin & tonic) was 31 euros.
We asked if there were other restaurants/shops nearby and was told that visiting Villa Carlotta was only option. We discovered on our own that there were restaurants/shops within 3 min. walking distance.
There was no orientation to the hotel, room, etc. Discovered on our own the meaning of adding red or green tassel to doorknob to signify housekeeping services. Had to figure out restaurant locations ourselves. Breakfast buffet was delightful and one of their mire positive amenities,
Concierge obtained a taxi for us for a 10 min. drive to a restaurant costing 90 euros. We asked to cancel the taxi after 4 min. and were charged 90 euros anyway through hotel
The bathroom shower is smaller than a cruise ship shower—- must turn off shower in order to lather. Long rectangular drain is under shower head and uncomfortable to stand on. Commode is crammed in beside shower— can’t open small, narrow door to shower without hitting commode.
Pizza cooking class was most positive experience.

I went to Hotel Tremezzo in June, and it was an amazing experience and I wrote an amazing review, however I did write to the staff on e-mail stating that the service was really not of an exclusive hotel. No greeting when walking in, but much more importantly people did not seem to want to help you. The front desk was very confusing, which was concierge and which was guest services. When we'd ask people they'd act like they were "doing us a favor" - which was upsetting at such a beautiful hotel. I had heard subsequent that they are paid very poorly (which is not right), however I would like to return with my daughter if only we knew that the actual service would be better. I had complained while e-mailing with concierge becasue we alway sgot a different person. I would really like to understand why the service cannot be more professional in general (without begging). I do concur with the other reviews on the inadequacy and attitude of many of the service people.

Grand Hotel Tremezzo was an unforgettable and nearly indescribable property. My husband and I just returned from a 2 week Italy trip where Lake Como was our last stop. We spent 5 nights at GHT and it was magical. The breakfast (included in our rate) was delicious with so many different options. Aside from dinner at the wine bar we had 1 evening which was just OK, the drinks at T bar and the lunch/cocktails at T Pizza were great! This hotel has thought of everything - there’s a little candy bar right at the bottom of the stairs so you can indulge in a few pieces before heading up to your room or out for the day. The massages we had at the spa were great. I loved all of the GHT branded items in the room and around the property. During turn down service, a pamphlet of activities and next day weather was left on the bed along with some little candies. The day it rained briefly, there were umbrellas at every door to borrow while going outside. Every nook and cranny of this place had something beautiful to look at. We never had any issues getting space by the pool or at any restaurant/bar on property and we didn’t have reservations except for our 2 dinners. Get the beef Wellington at La Terrazza Gualtiero Marchesi!!! Outstanding. The rooms were on the smaller side but certainly doable. Such a great location on the lake because of the views and ease of getting around. We took the ferry to Bellagio and it was only steps from the hotel to get on. Pro tip - skip Bellagio. Super touristy and the food options are subpar. Our boat guide has lived in Lake Como all his life and says he purposefully never goes there or takes his customers there. Make sure you get on a boat one day. You can either take the hotel boat or reserve through a third-party and they will still come pick you right up from the hotel dock! It’s amazing seeing the hotel from the water!! Such a statement property.
While the property and staff were amazing and I will definitely return, it is worth noting a few things … first, it’s very expensive - both the room rate (we were in a lake front King room - I would argue that I would have been just as happy with a garden/pool view to save a bit) and also all the food/drinks around the property. Cocktails were 25-30 euros each. Dinner on property was 400-500 euros both at the flagship fancy restaurant and at the wine bar. I was expecting the wine bar to be a bit more reasonable than the fine dining restaurant but that was not the case. Second, I wish it was common practice for someone to be taking drink/food orders at the garden pool. Most of the time we had to walk up to the restaurant and place orders or catch an attendant who was delivering food/drinks to others close by. Just a small change that would make a big difference while guests are trying to relax by the pool.
Overall, I can see why this hotel has 2 Michelin keys. It’s a fantastic property. I will definitely return to Lake Como again someday and would be lucky to stay at GHT again!

Great hotel! Amazing views and definitely a most wonderful atmosphere.
Lobby and staff are wonderful and kind. Great area to access the rest of the towns on the lake.
Few things brought it down a notch though.
1. The rooms facing the lake are new, the ones facing the back gardens remind me of a stay at grandmas.
2. They won’t upgrade based on FHR although upgradable rooms are available.
3. Not sure why, but the concierge just gave us container bad advice of where to go. Very odd, considering they “know the area”. Best to use TripAdvisor!
4. They charged us for someone else’s pool bill. Realized after we got home.
Would go back in a heartbeat. But manage your expectations and make sure to get a newer water facing room.

A very special thank you to Vincenzo at the T Bar for making each evening magical for us. He truly went above and beyond. And I cannot recommend enough the private wine tasting in the wine cellar. Rosario provided an in-depth and informative wine tasting that was really special.
Overall the entire experience was wonderful.
