I’ve been going up to Lake Placid for over a decade now, but this was my first stay at the Golden Arrow. It was awesome. My wife and I stayed in one of the suites and we loved the view of the lake! We were there during the Can-Am pond hockey tournament so we woke up to the view of people skating around the lake each morning. We also loved all of the personal touches, especially the stories of how the hotel was started and the family that still runs it. I think our favorite spot was the bar made out of ice on the lake side of the hotel where you could grab a drink and admire the view. The location was great, as soon as you walk out you’re greeted by shopping, cafes, restaurants, and bars. Definitely check out Generations, the hotel restaurant, while you’re there for food or drinks. The staff were all super nice. Parking was easy and there was always an open space. Would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to spend a little time in Lake Placid and the surrounding areas.

It was our first time at the Golden Arrow and already planning our next trip back! My husband and I enjoyed everything from the beautiful views of the lake, to the friendly staff, to the unique rooms. Also, the location is perfect! Walkable to activities, bars, restaurants and shops. It was a perfect get away for us as couple, but would be a great for groups of friends looking for relaxation and adventure! Also, as we were checking out, the couple in front of us were already booking their summer trip back as well. I can’t wait to see what it’s like in the summer!

We had the pleasure of staying at the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort last week during the winter festivities in Lake Placid and it was an amazing experience! You can’t beat the location of the hotel, nestled in the downtown area close to all the bars, restaurants and other fun activities like the Olympic Oval! We stayed in a lakeside room with an amazing view of Mirror Lake - covered in a blanket of snow with rinks carved out for a pond hockey tournament. The room was spacious, clean and well-equipped with a cozy fireplace that made the chilly evenings very enjoyable. The beds were very comfortable and the rustic decor added to the winter lodge charm. Our stay at the hotel was everything we could have hoped for during a winter getaway - cozy, scenic and filled with rustic charm. We can’t wait to return next year!

Golden Arrow never fails to impress us. Our 3rd time coming here...we're treated like family. Looking forward to many more years of visits. Everyone greets with a smile. Shout out to Vinny for all the hard work he puts into keeping the hotel running smooth and looking good!

Great location in lake placid. Middle of all bars and restaurants and easy parking. Our room (two double bed lake view) had the most amazing view over mirror lake. The restaurant was good, decent bar. Only minor complaint was cobwebs on windows leading to balcony and bathroom had a couple hairs in shower/bath. Would definitely stay here again, even just to sit with a coffee looking over the lake

Conveniently and centrally located by shops, restaurants and Olympic sites. Rooms spacious and comfortable, windfall suite offered small kitchen and perfect for us. Fitness center substantial, pool area impressive with hot tub, sauna and steam room. On site restaurant with all day happy hour for guests. Impressive lobby views, fresh baked cookies at night, warm welcoming staff. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

We stayed at the Golden Arrow the week after Labor Day and our stay was simply divine. We’ve been going for years, summer and winter, with our children and dog, but to celebrate being empty nesters, booked a stay in a suite for the first time (as pet rooms are on 3rd floor). The excellent, caring manager suggested the Skylight suite, and it was amazing. This huge space is on the fifth floor with gorgeous views of Mirror Lake and Whiteface Mountain, has a gas fireplace and a jacuzzi tub in the spacious bathroom, a dining nook, and a complete separate room with twin bed and trundle (perfect for a family ski vacation)! True to it’s name, the skylight is in the roomy entrance hallway and bathes the kitchen area in natural light. We enjoyed the fluffy spa robes provided, especially in the morning having coffee on our balcony, gazing at the mist and low clouds covering neighboring Lake Placid. The king bed was as comfortable as our bed at home, if not more, and the pillows, as always with the Golden Arrow, were fluffy and plentiful. The spare micro plush blanket was so welcome at night as the cool breeze wafted in, I ordered the exact same one when I got home. The staff are always kind and accommodating, the hotel is quiet and peaceful and every morning, we kayaked around Mirror Lake as the mist rose. We always eat at Generations one night and as always, food is great and service impeccable. I cannot wait to book this suite again, maybe with my kids as there’s an extra room - this time for a winter vacation. Plenty of room for ski gear in the foyer. I can just see myself sitting by the fire pit watching my daughter ice skate on the rink on Mirror Lake as the crew cleans it every morning when the lake is frozen over. My absolute favorite vacation destination in the whole world. PS the rooms have been recently renovated and it shows…brand new fixtures, furniture and everything is sparkling!!

The Golden Arrow is a pleasant hotel with a perfect location in the Lake Placid area. The front of the hotel is on 86, right in the heart of the downtown with endless restaurants and shops within a few minutes’ walk. (We did not try the hotel’s own restaurant, but it has one, too.) The back of the hotel has a gorgeous view of Mirror Lake and some of the Adirondack Mountains. Unlike the other local hotels we could see as we canoed and kayaked around the lake, The Golden Arrow has a sandy beach with a swimming area. It also has numerous life jackets, kayaks, canoes, rowboats, stand-up paddle boards, paddle boats, and even a bicycle contraption for rowing (I don’t know what it is called). No lifeguard, though. The hotel also offers some events; when we were there, there were fire dancers performing on the hotel’s dock. The room had a nice king-sized bed and a balcony overlooking the lake. The bathroom lighting was poor- it was dark. Otherwise, the room was fine. I definitely recommend a lake view room in this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is self-parking in garages with doors into the hotel with key card access. It is a great location for access to local attractions such as hiking and/or viewing waterfalls and mountains, or visiting Olympic sites.

Comfortable, clean, cozy accommodations. Great location and loved the white sand beach. Front desk staff were helpful and kind, especially check in with Kayla. We booked a haystack specialty room which had a balcony and superb view of the lake

My fiance and I decided to spend the night in Lake aplacid and came across this resort. The hotel was beautiful with a large window overlooking Mirror Lake in the lobby. The staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. We had a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the lake. Free parking was included with our stay and the hotel is right in the heart of town. There's a small beach out back and included paddle boards, kayaks, row boats, and pedal boards. There's a wonderful restaurant connected to the hotel where we had breakfast. In the evening, we sat by the bonfires and took in the beauty of the lake and surrounding mountains. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for somewhere to stay in Lake Placid!
