My husband and I were very pleased with the Garnet Hill Lodge. It is beautifully situated with a gorgeous view, which we were able to fully appreciate from our room, one of the best, with an outdoor patio on the second floor. Our room was spotless, roomy, and very nicely decorated. We enjoyed the beach, a very short drive from the inn, where we were able to swim and take out kayaks and canoes. If you want a peaceful setting, this is it. Breakfast is included and served daily, and you can enjoy it in the dining room or take it outside to enjoy the fresh mountain air. One really big plus, and a wonderful gesture, is that they set out fixings for lunch which you can pick up after breakfast. Very generous, with a selection of coldcuts and breads, lettuce, granola bars, fruit, really quite a nice selection. They even give you ice to keep it cold. The members of staff we spoke to were very helpful and friendly. We do very much recommend the Garnet Hill Lodge. Just some suggestions and personal thoughts: The dinners are a bit pricey and there is not a very large selection of items to choose from, a larger menu would be great. The pool table could be refurbished/replaced, and most importantly, placed in a room that is large enough to accommodate the pool sticks! It was actually impossible to make a play on two sides of the table. Also, bring in a ping pong table - so much more fun!! That being said, thank you for a wonderful time, we would come back here if in the area.

Very nice lodge in a beautiful location near the top of Garnet Hill, overlooking Fourth Lake. They also have a first-rate restaurant. Room rates include breakfast and a box lunch. The only issue to be aware of is that all the rooms are on the second floor and the stairs are steep, which may be an issue for some older folks.
We enjoyed our stay and hope to go back this summer.

While our stay at The Garnet Hill Lodge was terrific, I'd really like to acknowledge some very special people there. We arrived in the dark and had no idea where our room was. We had dinner and were discussing this when our waitress, Lucy said she'd show us. She put on her coat, got in her car and led us down the hill to our cabin. Next day, we were about to go for a ride when our truck broke down. We thought it was the battery, Kevin came and tried a jump. But no, Jeff came the next day, got under the truck and reconnected a wire. Our time with Patrick was an equally wonderful experience. He had both knowledge and patience to teach us how to Cross Country Ski. All in all, the entire staff, Paula, Kathy, Anna, Nick and Duane went way above and beyond to see that our time at the Lodge was very memorable and great fun. Oh, also the food is wonderful - large, delicious dishes!

Charming lodge in the woods
This is a charming lodge in a beautiful Adirondacks location. The lodge has cute woodsy decor. The rooms are very comfortable with modern bathrooms. The food was delicious. And the staff was very helpful. There are EV charging stations.
Perfect location for hiking trips. We would highly recommend it

The lodge has been upgraded considerably in the last few years and is really lovely.
Staff are friendly and helpful. The cross country skiing is the best on the east coast when the weather cooperates - lots of well groomed beautiful wooded trails mixed with sunny long open stretches with gorgeous mountain views. Lots of gentle rolling hills, but also plenty of more challenging steep ups and downs for the experienced skier.
My only complaint is the breakfast - nice that it's included, but as the inn prices have risen steeply I'd expect a more varied breakfast with healthy options such as plain yogurt, steel cut oats, hard boiled eggs, whole grain toast with jam and fresh fruit such as bananas and oranges. Adding a healthy breakfast would have bumped me up to 5 stars.

We had visited this place back in 2018 for a wedding anniversary dinner and were so impressed with the place and the food that we “swore” we’d come back during the winter season so we could enjoy the snow sports and actually stay at the lodge. Took us five years to make it back but man was it worth the wait and was it everything we had wished for and more! The lodge is gorgeous and comfortable, the food is amazing and the staff is probably the best part… Ana, Paula, Erin, Lucy, Matt… and of course the incredible Patrick who led us on two epic adventures: a fantastic hike through ice and snow to amazing views, and our cross country ski lesson. He is part of the experience for sure, knowledgeable, caring, genuine, friendly, funny and energetic. Such a beautiful and kind human being. We had the time of our lives and cannot wait to be back!!!! Much sooner this time ❤️

This was our fourth and by far most disappointing trip to Garnet Hill Lodge. For the second time, we went with our daughter, her husband and their son. This time, we reserved connecting rooms in the Tea House Cottage. The rooms were nicely appointed, the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for a pack-n-play, etc. The option of opening the doors between our rooms was great for both privacy, or those times we wanted our grandson crawling in to visit. Having use of the fire pit outside was really nice on our last night there.
Climate control in the rooms was a real problem. Even though we turned the thermostats to OFF in both rooms, the heat was still running. On a warm fall weekend, with days in the 60s and nights in the 30s, our daughter's room was running at 77 degrees plus and ours ran in the low 70s. For us, that's uncomfortable for sleeping. We were able to open our windows to cool the room off, but our daughter didn't want the draft on the baby, so they had to deal with the room being very warm. When we asked the desk if this could be looked at, their solution was to turn on the separate AC units in both rooms. So now we're heating the rooms and have AC running to cool them off.
The other issue we encountered was the dining room in the lodge. Out first night there, we went to the bar for a cocktail before dinner. One of us ordered something that the bartender wasn't familiar with, so they asked for help. But, both servers thought that the other had taken care of us, so after the one "difficult" drink was made, the rest of us waited 15-20 minutes for someone to show up and take the rest of our orders. That then did not give us enough time for a drink before our dinner reservation. The dinner menu, while limited, was quite flavorful. The breakfasts were a real disappointment. The first morning there were few guests, so we ordered off the menu. After taking our order, the server could be heard, as she entered the kitchen, exclaiming that this order wasn't completely unreasonable (or something to that effect). The second morning, there were enough guests to open up the breakfast buffet. Only about half the normal items were available and those that were, were in short supply. They would bring out 3-4 pancakes at a time for the dozen or so people there for breakfast. There was no sausage and limited bacon. The eggs were okay, but there was no toast unless you wanted the bread in the bottom of the bacon pan to soak up the grease. Our last morning, we were back to ordering from the menu. There were several items unavailable, so I ordered oatmeal, figuring that was hard to mess up. Boy was I wrong. I don't think they added quite enough water to the instant oatmeal to get it all hydrated. The cranberries for the oatmeal came out about 5 minutes after I was done eating the oatmeal. The others in our party either got things they didn't order, or didn't get things they did order. It was all a bit hit or miss.
We do love this place, the setting, the facilities, the trails, etc. but this visit really made us question whether we should start looking for a different Adirondack lodge to spend vacations with our family. We understand the current challenges with staffing, supply chains, etc. but really, if you can't meet the needs of your customers, don't accept their reservations.

We’ve been fans of Garnet Hill for a while now, and most recently had our wedding here. It was absolutely perfect!
We had originally planned to hold our ceremony outside on the lawn and reception in the pavilion, but due to weather concerns made the difficult decision to move the whole affair inside just hours before it was set to start. The staff were above and beyond accommodating every step of the way, and ultimately our wedding inside the lodge was more beautiful and magical than anything we could have hoped for!
Our group was relatively small, 33 guests- all of whom appreciated having both an intimate environment to gather/celebrate in, as well as all the open space to roam around and enjoy nature and the outdoors.
As always, the room was comfortable and clean, staff friendly and attentive, gorgeous scenery (even in bad weather!!), and fantastic food.
We’re so happy that we got to share one of our most favorite places with our closest family and friends. My husband and I look forward to our next chance to escape to this lovely mountain oasis :)

We have been skiing and staying at Garnet for decades and it just keeps getting better. It is our most favorite place and in this near-spring ski trip we so were thrilled to see the improvements at the Log House, addition of the outdoor venue, Sugar Shack enlargement and oh-so-sweet Lean-to on Bob Cat Run. COVID certainly did not hold you all down at Garnet! If you love nature, you must treat yourself to this gem of a location (pun intended). I can’t say enough about all the enchanted and enchanting features. In the winter for us this means: miles of skiing in near solitude on the best groomed trails; downhill cross country skiing with breath taking views of the mountains and 13th lake (among other jaw-dropping scenery); the quaintest quality lodge ever experienced; excellent dining- the best breakfast included with your stay and a very wide range of diner selections; an all-embracing fireplace; fantastic staff; fantastic ski shop and staff; Beekman 1802 bath essentials in the rooms (what?!!!); comfortable, clean and beyond quaint rooms…. so much more. With a light drizzle and temperatures in the 40’s, we had the best ski day thanks to the shop’s maxiglide application and freshly groomed trails.
