My husband and I recently stayed at the Farnham Estate Hotel. We had the most amazing time. Everything was perfect. The spa facilities are top class and the outdoor pool is truly wonderful. We ate in the Cedar Steak House and the meal and service was outstanding. Breakfast the following morning was delicious. There was so much choice. Overall we had a most fantastic time. Everything was brilliant and we look forward to visiting again. Highly recommend the Farnham Estate Hotel to anyone looking for a top class break away.

We were lucky with the weather so enjoyed some lovely walks in the forest. The hotel was busy but at all times, staff were helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel for a relaxing break.

Booked here for my husbands 50th birthday, the house was nice although warm but we did figure out how to turn the heating off . The food was unfortunately awful very bland and very cold for the price ! Also I got a prosecco based cocktail for 14.50 and it was flat! They did take mine off the bill but none of us really enjoyed the food and it was €180. The spa was nice treatment was good although afterwards my friend who I went in with was taken to a relaxation room and given ice cream.. where my therapist left and disappeared ?? and I didn't no where to go so I just wondered back to the waiting room whilst my friend was unbeknown waiting on me? I thought as we arrived together we may have been given the same level of treatment....the pool was nice.. and we hadn't booked breakfast so when I asked about coming they said yes no problem but once we where told it was €25 per head I thought €100 for 4 of us for breakfast was far too much and judging by dinner absolutely wouldn't pay that , lucky enough there where some lovely restaurants and cafes in cavan where we had dinner and breakfast while we where there. Looks lovely but it's definitely not worth the money for me.

We had a wonderful stay at Farnham estate over the February half- term break. We’re currently getting building work done in the house and we knew from previous experience that Farnham is the place to go for relaxation and it didn’t disappoint. We stayed for the first time in one of the junior suites in the original wing of the estate house and thoroughly enjoyed the characterful room with large sash windows and stylish decor. We have previously always stayed, and been very happy, in the modern rooms in the new wing of the hotel enjoying the views over the parkland. We have stayed at the hotel a couple of times a year since it originally opened and both my husband and myself felt the hotel is at the top of its game at the moment, demonstrated by the refresh of the spa area, quality and variety on offer at breakfast and dinner, attention to detail and a focus on customer enjoyment and feedback. Special mention goes to Nathan on reception, Mary at breakfast and young Leo, the very young and enthusiastic Italian exchange student who was doing a short work placement. Mary did a wonderful job mothering him and keeping him right as well as making sure breakfast ran smoothly in this busy hotel. Our focus was on relaxation so we enjoyed leisurely breakfasts, forest walks, unwinding in the lobby and drawing rooms, long afternoons in the spa, followed by stress free dinners in the bar. Just what the doctor ordered. Thank you for the wonderful stay - we’re already planning our next visit.

I can't recommend this hotel enough. From the forest and lake walks to the warm welcome you recieve the staff when you arrive and staff can't do enough for you but what stands out the most from other hotels is the heated infinity pool out door and Spa facilities are amazing. It's also just a short drive to Stairway to Heaven mountain climb.

Fantastic overnight stay with my husband. There is more of a variety of food on the dinner menu now and the buffet breakfast is great, as always. Complements to the chefs in Maxwells- the sirloin steak was so flavoursome. Staff in the restaurant were very friendly. Loved the touches of new decor around, particularly the mini lamps in Maxwells. A very enjoyable night away. We will definitely continue to return.

Farnham estate officially become one of ours favourite hotel. My boyfriend had arranged a surprise birthday trip for myself here . We stayed on the 4th of march to the 6th and let me tell you , we did not want to leave this place at all. From the minute we walked in to checking out , everything is perfect, from the drive in to the hotel to the interior of the hotel and to the room , we had no idea how amazing the room was going to be , there were cake and Prosecco left in the room for us . The view from our room was fabulous, looking out to the land of Farnham estate. The pool and spa and sauna is a must , we really enjoyed using the facilities and also there is a trail walk within the hotel ground . We had a lovely walk there , if you are staying here, is a must ! We had food at two restaurants while we were there! I highly recommend the cedar steaks house ! We were blown away the minute to step into the restaurant interior and oh the food ! Food was absolutely top notch, we really enjoyed the food , the presentation of the food is very eye catching and the taste does really match with the presentation! The server in the restaurant ( we didn’t get her name) but her service was excellent, attentive and professional. On the 5th of march , we went for our afternoon tea and was looked after by Gabrielle . Gabrielle was very easy to approach and was friendly and professional and even got my boyfriend ice coffee when was asked for it even it wasn’t on their menu. Over all our stay was very pleasant from everything but huge part that made our stay wonderful was staff. We want to say thank you to Angela one of the managers that we had interacted with since we got there , she was the most genuine loviest and professional and fun person we had met with and she was making sure we had everything we need to booking our dinner reservations and knowing it’s my birthday she made me feel very special.( happy early birthday to her also as her birthday is on the 8th of march) But without a say we want to say a big thank you to the executive head chef Django thank you for sorting out everything for us from the cake in our room to an amazing dinner in the restaurant and special treat to afternoon. Thank you very much ! We’ll definitely will be back here again 🤍

What a wonderful beautiful hotel. The entrance is magical. The staff are really lovely. We received an upgrade to a suite it was fantastic. Then I want to make everyone aware of the leisure area. Oh my god I fell in love. Please come visit this spot

Went here in February 2025 for a night stay with my girlfriend. Although the grounds are well maintained and the place looks great it just distracts you from the fact that the stay was a below average experience for a premium price. To add to the disappointment the two resteraunts were booked up all day so you could either eat the bar food (which we were told wasn't guaranteed availability) or drive 20 minutes into Caven for a feed. Which would be grand if you weren't paying in excess of 300 euro a night for the stay. Paying this amount of money you would think the hotel would be able to accommodate all it's guests for dinner in my eyes it's not a big ask. Check In at 4 check out at 12 and drive into Caven to eat. We were better off staying at home.

I stayed here on 22nd February 2025, at 2:40am on the Sunday morning I was awoken to my room being opened twice. I had the chain lock on the door so it was unable to be opened fully. My partner called reception, DJ the guy on reception told us it was him that tried to open the door but had the wrong room. When we questioned why he didn’t answer when we called out who was at the door, he said oh actually it was my manager not me. We requested the manager to call us with an explanation, that call never happened. The next morning I went down to reception and spoke with deputy manager Laura, who was very apologetic and professional and offered us a 50% refund. At checkout, I expressed the seriousness of this to Laura and how 50% refund wasn’t sufficient, Nathan the rooms manager then took over and gave the 50% refund in €10 & €5 & €2 notes and coins, he basically said he can’t prove anyone tried to enter and it was our word against DJ’s who had told management he got confused and does not know why he told us it was him. Nathan told us the footage would be reviewed and Bridie from guest relations would be in touch. Nathan also told us we could see the footage to assure us no one was trying to enter the room. Bridie & Nathan then told us it was the wind that opened our door and not a person, but we couldn’t see the footage regardless. I contacted Tracy the general manager about the incident, who fobbed us off and told us we already had an explanation and it was the wind from Bridie & Nathan, she only took my concerns seriously when I said I felt I’ve no option but to post a review to make people aware. After this she offered us a 100% refund which I refused as it is not about the money. Someone tried to enter our hotel room twice that night and ran when we woke up and 4 people in management dismissed us and wouldn’t take the concerns seriously.

We have just enjoyed a wonderful two night stay at Farnham Estate. Everything about this hotel was excellent. We were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff both around the hotel, in the Spa area and restaurants. Our meals were very good too. We ate in Maxwells and the Cedar Rooms . Both meals were of a very high standard and the attention by staff was excellent too. We enjoyed a great game of golf there and were so impressed with the quality of the greens considering the time of year! Our room was outstanding in every way. We felt truly spoiled and enjoyed every moment of it. We loved the Spa too and particularly loved the outdoor infinity pool. We have already recommended Farnham to others and are looking forward to returning ourselves in the future.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here twice in the last two months, both times it was amazing. The beds are so comfortable and the room so clean. All the food tastes amazing, Emma and Kevin in the dining area are very nice and always willing to help. The cellar bar is very comfortable and cozy, Daniel and Luke who were working in there are great to talk to and very willing to help. All in all both stays Ive had there were incredible, the drinks are slightly pricy but aside from that I’d gladly go back and will be recommending it to everyone

Fantastic stay didn't want to leave. Booked for my wife's 40th originally in January but storm eoywan but a halt to that so we had to reschedule. Was great and very easy to reschedule. When we arrived you parked In the car park and walked to a little hut and rang a bell for the shuttle transfer to the hotel. check in was fast and very easy. Our room was on ground floor and was large bright and very spacious and the added bonus of a mini patio was lovely. I had ordered a happy birthday dessert plate which they promptly brought after we had arrived in our room . A proper smart tv in room which was a lil temperamental with WiFi but was no biggie. The hotel grounds we fab and so nicely kept , there were walking trails and running trails all round which were lovely . Then the best part the spa .what a great place with indoor and outdoor heated pools we loved the outdoor pools .was subtlety lit at night and was so relaxing , never been to a pool with so much emphasis on relaxing ,so many wicker beds all round the pool and the thermal suite area to just relax , it was busy but still got to use everything 2 steam rooms both different and 2 saunas again both different an ice fountain and foot baths .an amazing place and uo stairs had a gym never got to use it , and another 2 relaxation rooms .. we Ate in the bar area for lunch and then the maxwell table dote 3 course In the eve . Food was really nice. Very varried. I had the cod with boula base and herb crust cockles n muscles . The dish was over saucy and could have done with a scoop of mash under to help soak up some of the sauce had to ask for a soup spoon there was so much sauce .wife had the beef stew which was so flavoursome, and beef was just falling apart . Desserts were fab as well .cocktails a lil pricy and too much ice in the winter themed cocktail but they were nice. Breakfats was super and so well presented , felt as if the pastries weren't fresh that morning or were baked v v early they were almost kind of chewy by 10 am both mornings . Found the muffins to be hard and dry almost stale but that didn't put us off ,Mary the breakfast hostess was lovely and friendly and so chatty to every one . When it came to leaving we wished we could have stayed one more night pr more , already thinking of coming back for a winter break later in the year .it's such a friendly relaxed hotel. Easily one of the most relaxing hotels we've ever stayed in . We will be back

Myself and my husband went on a short break, we had a most relaxing time just what we both needed.our experience was amazing from start to finish starting with the warm welcome and smile on our arrival from receptionist and porter.We dined in both restaurant's, food was delicious, and again staff welcoming and friendly asked did you enjoy your meal, all staff so interested in the customers as I could over hear simulator question asked of diners.So relaxing,lovely walks around the estate, and to top it all off a visited to the espa where I had a Swedish massage.Day two was another day of pure indulgence of swimming pool along with the sauna, steem room and foot massaging pool.We had amazing time and it was all happening within the hotel.We are so looking forward to a return trip, and hats off to all the wonderful hard working staff in the Farnham Easte Hotel.

We had a lovely relaxing stay in Farnham for our wedding anniversary, the staff are very helpful and nothing is a problem to them. The spa is always a highlight of the trip for us, and is lovely and peaceful - perfect for a couple of hours relaxation!

Just stayed at Farnham Estates for a two day spa special. From check in and throughout our stay staff have been exceptional, their customer service and attention is second to none. We booked dinner which was included in the special offer this was 3 courses and there was a small supplement for the steak which would be normal on special deals . Our courses came out without any delays and a staff member did check if everything was ok without being overzealous which can happen. Myself and my husband had an Inner calm massage in the fabulous spa and again staff were so pleasant and attentive in the Spa , 60 min massage was excellent . Our room was a patio king room nos 135 , lovely room and all amenities available. I will hopefully be booking later in the year with my girlfriend’s for a spa weekend. One area that stood out for me was a lot of the younger staff are so professional either a natural talent for customer service or just good training , good on all you guys. First class experience. We couldn't fault one thing during our stay. We stayed in a beautiful room and ate in the bar area the first night and Cedars the second night, with great food, service and outstanding friendly staff. Breakfast in Maxwells was a treat. Mary the host was great craic, friendly and very welcoming. Food and service excellent at breakfast. The spa was a lovely relaxing experience especially the outdoor infinity pool and it wasnt too busy. An outdoor walk in the hotel woodland is a must. The local bus collects you at the hotel door to go to Cavan town, €2 each way. Overall 10 out of 10, we will be back!! This hotel in my opinion outshines many others who can be twice as expensive.

When checking in, reception staff were so kind and friendly. Having not stayed here before we were advised on where everything was and if there was any questions there was always a staff member on hand. Our room was spotless. The bed was extremely comfy. The spa and pool is a must when visiting. We had dinner in Maxwells which was exceptional. The staff, Bernie in particular, went above and beyond for us. Breakfast the next morning was lovely. We will definitely be returning in the near future and we can't recommend it enough.

Amazing experience from start to finish. We were greeted in the carpark by a courtesy car that brought us and our luggage up to the hotel! The staff throughout the entire hotel were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Our room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and you couldn’t hear any other guests in their rooms. The spa and pool is a must if you’re going. The outdoor pool is heated which was my favourite part. Such a relaxing experience. The breakfast had loads to chose from between hot food and continental on the buffet and you could also order some items from the kitchen. We ate in the Cedar Rooms for dinner which was a lovely formal dining experience and the staff went above and beyond for you.

My husband & I recently spent a night here in April for his birthday , it was our first time to visit Farnham Estate & Spa . From the minute we arrived we were shown fantastic hospitality , not only were we upgraded but they had left a bottle of Prosecco in the room with a birthday card . The hotel & spa have excellent facilities . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to visit in the summer . Thank you

Absolutely beautiful. We stayed in a quirky split level junior suite in the old building. It was really lovely. Probably could have done with a light freshen up with decors carpet on hallways cleaned more, blinds in room fixed but this was a nice old style feel room. A real insight into the old house. The hotel was really lovely. We ate just at the bar, food was really tasty didn't try steakhouse or Maxwells as we didn't fancy a big fuss. Bar food was divine. Beautiful meaty fish in dry batter, curry was scummy and burger was delicious. Breakfast was perfect a fabulous range of beautiful hot food to select and lovely selection of cold meats, fresh bread, bakery. We WILL be back. Spa was great! Lots of beds to choose from courteous guests always cleared up so spare beds were available. Maybe some of the sensors could be fixed as some of them didn't kick in. Floor was a bit slippy when wet I would bring my own flip flops in future as I am always worried about falling. Maybe the hotel could switch to flip flops over the slippers which offer no support when wet. All in all a great relaxing stay with gorgeous walks, scenery and just a lovely clean feel.

We have just returned from a night in Farnham feeling completely rested and relaxed. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. From the moment you step into the hotel, you are met with the friendliest and most attentive staff. I have stayed in Farnham a number of times over the years but I felt this visit definitely deserved a 5 star review. We were lucky to be upgraded to a beautiful room with stunning views. Every thing from our room, to the pool, staff, food and service was impeccable. I would like to particularly mention Michal on reception and Courtney who was our waitress as we dined in Maxwells, they couldn't have done enough for us. Thank you so much.

This place is a complete gem. We have stayed here numerous times and I keep forgetting to leave a review. The Grounds, walks, foyer, and all surrounding areas is amazing. The food is fantastic and service to replicate this. The spa area and pool is lovely too. please look at adding a few jacuzzis as this would enhance the area even more. No complaints at all about the Farnham and we will definitely be going back this September again.

We stayed in Farnham last Sunday for our 10 yr anniversary. We would have been frequent flyers to this resort prior to getting married but between a baby and Covid we hadn’t been in about 8yrs which we thought it had lost a little charm. Whao that Farnham sparkle is back. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite in the original Manor House and a bottle of Prosecco. It meant so much, but the charm is in the people and the service. George the shuttle bus driver is a gem of Cavan with a passion for the estate and its guests making sure the know all the spots to go to make the most for their stay. He is your 1st and last point of call and no better person he sets the tone. Reception bar restaurant staff could not be more friendly but also respect of space. They are well trained and efficient and informed. Thank you Farnham for a memorable 10yr anniversary it is just what the doctor ordered ❤️

Excellent stay, on all accounts, from checking in and out, customer service, food, facilities! The views are beautiful, lovely forest walks around and a great, relaxing spa and pool to relax and chill! We even went to the gym and honestly, loved doing a bit of a workout with a view. Would definitely recommend to any couples and would visit again!

Overall a magnificent stay in Farnham for 1 night B&B. Standard double room was amazing and the spa along with the cedar room steakhouse was just outstanding. Would highly recommend a stay here. From the setting of the area, quality of the food and service it was a brilliant stay.

This was our second stay at the Farnham estate and it was absolutely magical. We were here to celebrate our engagement and there was a wonderful surprise of presecco on ice waiting on our room for us! We were ecstatic!! We also had an absolutely BEAUTIFUL room with an incredible view. We had been treated to complimentary presecco afternoon tea by the very kind Bridie (thank you again, we are so unbelievably grateful) and it was absolutely gorgeous. It was so fun to get to experience all the different kinds of sandwiches and desserts. The scones were the nicest we've ever had. It was a melody of gorgeous flavours and presented beautifully. We also got to sit in very comfortable surroundings with very friendly attentive staff. We of course made use of the spa areas which are incredible. I still can't believe there is complimentary tea and coffee ready at all times for whenever you want! There are also lots of lovely lounge spaces. We tried a few steam rooms and I got to spend a few heavenly hours reading and drinking tea! We had dinner in Maxwells and it was absolutely fantastic!!!!! The young man serving us was incredible and very kind and I wish I had gotten his name! It was honestly the best dinner I probably have ever had. Even after checking out we still had access to the spa so spent some more time lounging and reading. This was a very badly needed trip and I felt all my stress and worries melt away. The staff made it so memorable for us. The service is just incredible. Everyone is friendly. This place is heaven! We cannot wait to get back as soon as possible. Thank you Farnham for making our engagement celebration so truly special and memorable. We really appreciate the generosity afforded to us. Truly.
