We stayed on Gold and had the best time ever! We always knew that Fairmont had high standards and great customer service, but Royal York team really set the bar. From the warm welcome at the Gold Lounge by Temo. Who accommodated all our needs with our luggages early check-in to Gold attendants, Agnes, Karla, Elaine, that anticipated and gave amazing service every time we were in the lounge. On our first breakfast, I got us apple juice and asked the attendants for cappuccino. On our next return, they asked on how our exploring of downtown went and remembered our drinks from the previous day and had them ready on our table! All in all, the hotel is beautiful, the room was stellar, and the service was excellent! Thank you everyone!

From start to finish this is the place to treat yourself. At every turn the staff provide outstanding customer service. The lounge is very relaxing and has great food and drink. The food offerings are very yummy. The rooms are pristine with every amenity you can think of and housekeeping staff maintain them perfectly. There are lots restaurants and museums within walking distance or a short public transit ride. The hotel is connect directly to a subway stop and the underground PATH system meaning you never have to go outside in bad weather. Highly recommended.

We stayed here in July 2024 and had an absolute fantastic time. The hotel delivered in most areas, not accessibility though as if a wheelchair user you have to use the tradesman lift at the side and I felt from the wheelchair we were seen more as an inconvieniance and not treated as valued or paying guests
This trip though was like chalk and cheese in comparisson
We arrived at the poor man's side enterance and there was no one to assist my wife with our two suitcases (though it was -15 outside IMHO the staff could have been more alert and watchful and ventured from their heated room)
The room configeration we had booked for a wheelchair user was not availible at check in despite checking by phone and email before our arrival. Reception gave no reason for change or offered any compersatory vouchers or anything during our stay.
This was a real deal breaker for our seven night stay and despite talking to the duty manager, nothing was done till the very last day and then only a call to see if we were ok!!!! Nothing more than lip service
I was injured in the 1991 Gulf war and I am a full time wheelchair user, had we had the room we had booked I would not have struggled or experienced the level of fatigue and pain I did. I wanted my wife to have a holiday not having to care for me whilst on her holiday.
We were disappointed to see they had removed the breakfast buffet option. $50.00 each + tax + 18% graturity for a very limited breakfast choice fell well short of our expectations from our previous visit. We were informed it was a cost saving measure.
Due to two days of promotional filming in the hotel I had real trouble getting around the foyer, due to cameras and cabling and it took over the whole hotel enterance. Also it meant we couldnt use the Clock bar etc. Also we had absolutely no priority as guests for the resturant in the evening due to events etc.
I would have liked to have booked a Gold room for our stay this time but was suprised and disapointed to be informed that they dont have one ada accessible gold room in the whole hotel, which in the year 2025 I do find wholly unacceptable. I will gently use the phrase that" i felt discriminated against and denied the same fcilities that was availible to others", no lounge use or other paid for perks because I am disabled.
If we visit Toronto again I would probably not pick the Fairmont despite it's close location to the railway station. I felt as a couple we had become invisible to the staff and the wheelchair a deal breaker when booking a place in the bar and resturant though there were spaces. I found not being able to treat my wife to the Gold experience totally hurtfull and frustrating

A lovely hotel , in a great location .Staff are very friendly we mentioned that it was our Silver Anniversary to Dhawal on reception and he organised for us to have a great view and arranged for dipped chocolate strawberries to be delivered to the room with a note it was a lovely touch.
A couple of downsides , we were unable to get a drink in any of the bars on the Saturday Night due to a hockey game taking place . There was a long wait for a table just for a drink even though we were paying guests and staying in the hotel , it was very disappointing !.
Also a lack of free WiFi easily overcome as there are loads of places around Toronto but didn’t encourage us to stay and spend money in the hotel as we needed the internet for information and booking tickets .
We had a lovely stay , the best thing about the experience was the staff who were magnificent. However don’t book on a game weekend .

Our reservation was on the Gold floor and it did not disappoint. Our room was nicely appointed, well maintained, and clean. Our king bed was very comfortable. The Gold lounge was exceptional, with live entertainment, very good appetizers. Their breakfast offerings were good as well.

We were privileged guests in Fairmont Gold, giving us access to their spectacular lounge with food and beverage services. Everything was perfect. The wait staff were extremely attentive and kept the place spotless, never allowing any used dishes or glasses to linger on the tables. The food on the buffet was delicious, imaginative and fresh. To our very pleasant surprise, there were singer/guitar players at the Tuesday and Wednesday happy hour services we attended. They were so good, I sincerely would have payed to see them perform! The Fairmont Gold front desk staff were friendly and made us feel very welcomed. A special shout out to Stella our room attendant, who went above and beyond to let us know she was thinking of us. From thoughtful folding of facecloths and placement of our toiletries, to a special handwritten note requesting we let her know if we need anything, you could just tell she is someone who aims to please. Thank you to all of the wonderful staff at Fairmont Gold for making our stay so special!

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Fairmont Royal York for my bachelorette and wedding. The Royal York is a beautiful and historic hotel but what made the stay so wonderful was the staff.
Revna from the client services team is the most incredible and dedicated employee I have ever encountered during a hotel stay. When she found out it was my bachelorette, she ensured my friends and I were put in an amazing suite with complimentary bubbly and snacks, which made the entire experience!!
My husband and I also stayed at the Fairmont the night before our wedding and several nights after. Revna made sure we were in a beautiful room with some great snacks - this made getting ready for our wedding and our honeymoon we spent at the Fairmont even more special. We also want to thank Carmen S. on the 11th floor who warmly took care of us and our room.
Every single member of the staff we interacted with went out of their way to make sure we had an amazing stay during this very special time in our lives. We truly cannot thank the staff of the Fairmont more - the Royal York will always be a special place for us after our wonderful stay.

The hotel is overpriced for what it offers. I arrived at 11 pm, and there were no porters to help with luggage, which was tough to manage on my own, especially with 13 steps to climb. Check-in took about 30 minutes due to long lines and one receptionist being occupied for too long. By the time I got to my room, it was 12:30 am.
The lobby had loud disco music, which felt unnecessary. The so-called "business center" was poorly marked and had no working photocopier or computers. Breakfast in the Gold area was disappointing with limited service and a basic selection of food.
On the plus side, the room was beautiful, the bed comfortable, and housekeeping was great. However, the minibar system was inconvenient. Overall, not worth the high price.

As a 5* hotel it was a real let down. On arrival there was no help with luggage and the checkin process was slow. The room was tired and the bathroom was terrible (chipped tiles, yellowing decor, broken bath, very poor shower). The air conditioning was ineffective. The lobby area was incredibly noisy every evening and the Library bar seemed always to be closed for private events. There was no response to my feedback on checkout. Way over priced for a poor experience.
The only good aspects of this hotel were the Reign restaurant and Reign bar where the food, drink and service were at the level you would want. It was also well located in the city.

First time in Toronto. Came for a baseball game. The hotel was great, perfect size, beautiful and clean rooms. My only complaint was the first room we were given had a city view but the keycard didn’t work so instead of reprogramming the card, they immediately put us in a different room. The room we ended up in did not have a view of anything. I would have liked to see the city lit up and the CN tower. But overall, great stay!! Will be back.

It's those personal touches and eye to detail that make the stay amazing! The staff are incredible and the rooms are lovely. The beds are so nice that we may have slept in a bit longer than usual.
The architecture of the building is a true testament to hard work and brilliance in designing such a prestigious hotel.
The proximity to restaurants and attractions are amazing too! Right across from Union Station and surrounded by incredible restaurants for the frugal or big budgeted restaurants.
My significant other and I will DEFINITELY be back! 10/10! What a way to celebrate a special occasion!
