Excellent location, views, food & service. Facilities that, without being pretentious, offer everything you need!

We've been visiting Cozumel 1 - 2 times per year for the past 10 years. We love to swim in the sea and snorkel. This was the first time we stayed at this hotel and we're definitely going back. After a few disastrous experiences at more pretentious (and more expensive) hotels, we decided to try this and loved it. We rented a king bed suite with a balcony. It that had a round table, fridge, stove, microwave, sink and everything we could need. American breakfast included.
The service was really good, from the check in to the restaurant and bar. Waiters remembered what we ordered and liked. Food was really tasty. We snorkeled and saw a family of stingrays - mom dad and 2 "kids" in tow + many different fish. The only thing was that the pool's water was extremely cold, so we couldn't get in, nor did we see any other guests inside during our whole stay. It was the only issue. So we stayed on the bunk beds resting, enjoying the view, our snacks & drinks. We realized the hotel has repeating guests from different places that know each other or had met there years before. Mostly adults. So, our opinion is clearly a common and shared one. I did not give it all the 5 stars due to the pool's water temperature. But it is indeed a place to be recommended!

DO. NOT. STAY. HERE.
I tried really, really hard to like this place. They have good reviews online. Turns out, there is new management as of August 2024, and a lot has gone down hill.
The staff is wonderful, the management is horrific. They advertise a bar, restaurant, gym, spa, dive shop/dive resort. None of those were open the entire time we were there. The pool was full of mosquitos and must of not been cleaned in weeks. The gym was full of umbrellas, outdoor chairs, etc- it was used for storage and not usable. The spa was closed. The swim up bar was only open 4 hours a day, and only provides shots of 3 different types of alcohol. The restaurant and k8 were not open. The “store” only has beer and water. There is no golf course, though it’s advertised. They are not set up for diving, just have a dive shop that stays closed the entire time. The worst part was that due to the spa being closed, I scheduled a massage with a local vendor (whom I have seen many times before) and they would not allow her in the building to provide the massage. Apparently, they do not allow anyone on the property that is not paying for a room- even if you offer to pay for a guest pass. I asked if I could speak to the owner, as they have allowed this masseuse in before. And he refused to come down to talk to us or explain anything. The poor staff had to relay the information.
I come to Cozumel many times a year, and have friends and family that live here and own businesses. The new owner here is a total crook. Do not go here. Instead: stay at Puerto Libre or the Presidente.
DO NOT GO HERE.

Great hotel! We stayed about a week here doing some diving. The dive shop on site at hotel is amazing:) The snorkeling out front of hotel is pretty good too. The room was great, good ac, good showers. We didn’t have a balcony just a Juliet balcony but it was a beautiful view. The hotel is quiet and peaceful, pool and bar is nice. Lots of loungers to sit and relax. Restaurant and bar close at 6pm. It’s a 1/2 hour easy walk to town or $100 MXN pesos taxi to town. You can ask for a mini fridge in your room if they have one available. You have to buy coffee for the machine in room:(

Basic hotel with great food? Best views and great staff. No swimming beach but still beautiful. Nice swim up bar. Good size pool. We stayed 8 nights. Good value for money Would stay here again. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Great stay

The staff here is outstanding. They are all very friendly, hard-working people. Unfortunately, the bad outweighs the good. We have been coming to this hotel since 2006 and always had a wonderful stay, so we were shocked at the lack of services and the overall condition of the hotel. The restaurant closes at 5:00 pm, so you have to go elsewhere for dinner. A very limited menu, food was good, but not really worth the inflated prices. We paid extra for our room to have breakfast included. Considering the extra amount we paid, we thought it would be a full cooked breakfast, but it was only a fruit plate and some bread. Nowhere did it state on the website that it would only be this small breakfast. If it had, we never would have paid the extra amount. The pool bar also closes at 5:00 pm and the karaoke bar never opened during the entire week, so no place to get a drink after 5. The spa was not open. The entire hotel is in dire need of updating, rooms are tired, beds are hard. The elevator kept getting stuck. I don't understand why it went so downhill so fast. I am very sad to say that we will not be coming back unless reviews reflect that it has greatly improved. We will be looking for a different place to stay on future visits.

After 27 trips here in 24 years I wish I could say this place was surviving. What once was award winning acclaimed destination is one step above trailer park in my opinion. Every year it loses more and more. No room service. No food or drink past 5:00 pm. The furniture in the rooms are the same since 1999 when I started going. No longer selling timeshare memberships. No longer affiliated with timeshare trading organizations. The service staff is average at best. K8 sports bar hasn’t been open in last 3 years. No more weekly outdoor barbecues with live bands. The on-site dive shop Pepe’s scuba is the only plus to this place.
