Incredible stay for a weekend without our young children- turns out, a lot of families stay here and it would be fun to bring them for a visit. The hotel is upscale with a family friendly vibe, there was a wedding on site when we stayed, so high energy. The guests and staff were friendly. The services at the spa surpassed our expectations- each provider took excellent care of my husband and me (highly recommend Untamed Maine and hydrafacial). Tiller served delicious dinner, room service breakfast was fresh and delicious, Nubb's drinks were perfect for happy hour hot tubbing. The hot tub was a fun scene, even in the frigid temps, everyone was polite and having a great time- like an apres ski party! We did the candle-making activity and brought candles home for our kids.

We spent a great weekend here. Everything was first class, staff friendly. Decor very esthetically pleasing. I wasn't sure what to expect in winter, but we were very satisfied. The hotel is immaculate. Outdoor hot tub was nice as was the firepit. We will be back.

Very, very laid back vibe for such a nice place. Jeans & sneakers and people in hotel provided robes everywhere including the "Nubb's" pub/restaurant.

I’ll preface my review by mentioning that I am a supervisor at a 2 Michelin Key, AAA Four Diamond, Forbes Four Star luxury hotel in New England. Cliff House is an exceptional property. Starting from the beginning, the website is clean, alluring, & easy to navigate. The photos of the rooms and the property, as well as the descriptions of amenities & offerings was inviting & exciting. I can add now that they are true to life as well. The idyllic, picturesque location in Ogunquit sets the tone for your stay as you cruise along the shoreline past beautiful homes, lush mature woods, and adorable shops, galleries, cafes & eateries—exactly how one imagines a New England getaway. Arriving to property feels luxurious in an understated way. Meticulously maintained grounds, stonework, thoughtful layout. The valet team was polished while being warm & welcoming. Great first impression. Throughout the stay they were friendly & so efficient. There is conveniently located complimentary self-parking if you prefer that, however. The front desk team is eager to greet you and welcome you in. They make check-in a breeze, and use the time to familiarize you with additional amenities & offerings unique to their property as well as making sure you’re well-oriented to their layout before you head off on your own. Someone was always ready to assist—and with a genuine smile—throughout our stay. Our room was an Ocean View King in the main building. The room was playfully decorated in a tasteful nautical theme and color scheme, not to mention absolutely immaculate. Paint, flooring, fixtures, linens, furniture — all spotless and without wear. This hotel looks brand new. The bed was a coil mattress, medium-firmness with pillow top. We slept very well. There were feather pillows on the bed and two extra poly-fil pillows in the closet (I love extra pillows). The HVAC is easy to find & use, the system is quiet. The TV is Netflix-ready which is always appreciated. There was a loveseat sofa, ottoman, and bistro table with seating in the room, as well as a wooden outdoor bistro set on our balcony. There are outlets and usb ports on each side of the bed. A unique & thoughtful feature we liked was the wave-sensor path lighting on the base of the tv/storage console. Perfect for lighting your way to the bathroom in the middle of the night without fumbling for a switch or blinding yourself or your partner with a bright lamp. It’s floor level so it’s also the perfect night light if you’re traveling with little ones. The bathroom had a large shower—no tub. I typically like to have a separate tub, however this property offers a year-round outdoor hot tub so I did not miss having a bathtub during this stay. There are rooms on property with tubs, however but our priority was having the view instead. Shampoo, conditioner, & body wash are generously provided in prefilled wall-mounted dispensers. I love how many hotels have moved towards this—you don’t run out or have to fiddle with tiny caps. There is additional personal care items on the sink (makeup remover wipes, nail file, qtips, cotton swabs), excellent vanity lighting, a small makeup mirror on the counter (much appreciated) and a high-quality hair-dryer. We dined at Nubb’s for a casual dinner, drinks at Tiller’s bar as well as breakfast there one of our mornings, and had several lattes from Bald Head Coffee shop on property—so good!! Nubbs has fcfs seating and counter service. Make sure there’s a table first then order your food. You can also take to go. Nubbs has a small bar which is great for getting a drink to bring to the hot tub! Tiller is fine dining in an approachable way—dress up or dress down it works for every occasion or for none at all. Tiller will book up and you will be relegated to the fcfs seating in the bar area or foyer without a reservation—at least on weekends and during peak season. This is important to understand to keep one’s expectations managed. It’s a small dining room for a large hotel (& the public) offering exceptional food & ocean views. Expecting to walk-in and get a table is simply not reasonable. If you can’t tell, I observed more than a few parties become upset with the host, who handled each interaction with masterful poise. We dined for breakfast (reservations less important for this meal period). My fiance and I both remarked that our meals were some of the best we’d ever had! He had the chorizo breakfast burrito and I had the cinnamon vanilla overnight oats with blueberry compote. One of the small touches I loved at this hotel was each wing has a coffee & water station. The guest rooms have a glass carafe you can refill at these stations with flat or sparkling water. You can fill your ice bucket and make a coffee or tea from their pro-series Keurig & a selection of local dairy milks. There’s even a fruit basket. These touches remind me of the homey thoughtfulness you see at B&B’s and boutique properties. So cute! One of the Maine (haha) draws of this property for me was not only the sweeping ocean views but also the outdoor pool & hot tub in the winter season. As a New Englander, I love our winters for what they are and appreciate when properties find ways to embrace that and offer amenities that lean into our climate. It’s easy to just shut things down for the season but the whimsy that this offers is so special & fun! Each room has a plush signature navy blue & white gingham hooded robe. Your Cliff House members jacket, dare I say—that knowing nod you give to a fellow guest who is also in their robe heading out for a post-dinner dip in the hot tub. All in all a relaxing, luxurious & fun stay! We definitely have plans to return during different seasons to experience & explore more of what Cliff House and Ogunquit have to offer!

Imagine the hotel would not light fireplaces in large reception area until 4:00 PM!!! We booked because we were expecting a Christmas getaway, but the halls were hardly decked—very skimpy!! And my excitement about being told that there would be a Feast of Seven Fishes vanished when we were seated at our table and were told no Feast this year. This was poor staff communication, and other guests had their misinformation stories to share too. Tiller restaurant very good. Other food concessions were less than good including horrible baked goods at coffee shop (but great coffee) HVAC could be a deal breaker for anyone wanting quiet. System sounded like a basement furnace going on and off next to my bed. Pity because rooms are lovely. Oh and during our stay WiFi not working and no communication about it The staff were all very friendly and helpful! I complained about WiFi and also low temperatures of hot tub and outdoor pool. I asked to have resort fee taken off bill and staff happily obliged.

My husband and I stayed at the Cliff House for a quick get-away at the end of October. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and this was truly a treat. The room was well appointed, the view overlooked the ocean with the Nubble Lighthouse in the distance. The room was clean and had a beachy elegant design. Everything from the beautiful drinking glasses to the comfy robes were well thought out. Although it was technically off season there were still many activities to choose from such as morning yoga, crafting, a spa, entertainment and simply enjoying the view. We enjoyed a lovely anniversary dinner at the Tiller restaurant. Our stay was truly wonderful due exceptional staff and beautiful facility.

I didn't want to leave this property! It was beautiful--so cozy, like home (well I wish LOL). The rooms are lovely--the property (literally on a Cliff) is truly breathtaking--the views from the guestrooms and the lobby of the Atlantic Ocean--can't be beat. Easily accessible like within 10 min of Ogunquit --small, quaint town for dining and shopping off property-- walk the Marginal Way-- it is gorgeous. We will be back one day-- I hope!

We came in late October at the start of the “off season” in southern Maine. The views from the premium room were incredible, but we paid for a room with a fireplace and the one in our room was not functional. On arrival we checked with the spa and with the Tiller restaurant to make reservations during our 3 night 4 day stay. Only to find that both were completely booked until mid week (after we leave). The only openings the Tiller had were for 3-3:30 on Saturday and Sunday. The onsite coffee shop also closes at 2pm, even though there is a steady flow of people attempting to get in after 2. On Sunday we sat by the fire pit while our room was being serviced and saw at least 20 guests attempting to get coffee around 3pm only to find that it was closed. It’s disappointing that there is not capacity for these establishments to cater to guests that are spending nearly a grand per night to stay at this resort. We did however get to go out and explore several of the nearby towns thanks to suggestions given to us by the concierge.

Our stay at Cliff House was amazing! Our room -- #466 -- was very impressive. It was a corner room, with views in almost all directions. The room was spacious, clean, well decorated and just .... perfect! We enjoyed our strolls around the property -- the infinity pool was gorgeous....

Our stay at Cliff House was amazing! Our room -- #466 -- was very impressive. It was a corner room, with views in almost all directions. The room was spacious, clean, well decorated and just .... perfect! We enjoyed our strolls around the property -- the infinity pool was gorgeous. We dined in the main dining room a couple of times, and the staff there were excellent. We booked through a travel agent that was a Virtuoso agency, which gave us many additional amenities -- highly recommend Virtuoso!

The resort is simply incredible in every way! Staff, facility, restaurants (especially The Tiller) are all awesome! The amazing attention to every detail is on display. I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for exceptional, you will find it at Cliff House!

I loved one cliff house it was our first visit but won’t be the last. We stayed for two nights and did not have a reason to leave. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the beautiful views. So happy there is an adults only option. We loved the live music in the lounge. The only recommendation would be to not have the same menu at the two restaurants to offer more variety.

The pool and hot tub are situated with views of the ocean, and Nubs restaurant is nearby with poolside service. Dinner at Tiller was delicious and the service was great. Lastly, we enjoyed the Spa for a massage to top off our 4 days. And it's only a short drive or trolly to Ogunquit beach! We plan on returning again soon.
