Our stay at the Clarion Hotel the Hub was extraordinary. Wanting to celebrate my husband's birthday I thought of surprising him by requesting one of the services offered by the hotel and when we arrived in the room we found some "happy birthday" decorations, chocolates and a courtesy set as a gift. In the evening we went to the bar on the first floor to have a drink and here we had a few hitches. We sat at the counter and waited at least 15 minutes before someone deigned to take our order, then we waited another 15 minutes to receive our drink. We ordered a gin and tonic (they didn't ask what type of gin we preferred) and a spritz, unfortunately not the best, probably prepared with old prosecco that had run out of bubbles.
for the rest everything of excellent quality, excellent cleanliness, perfect location, good variety of breakfast but the sweet corner was not very well stocked.

Expensive but centrally located
Travel Date: January 31, 2025
Stayed three nights, hotel is very central with easy access from train station. Got train straight from airport and 2 minute walk to hotel. Rooms are nicely laid out but a bit small, breakfast was very good with loads of choice. Only reason not 5 stars was it was very expensive overall.
A wonderful 2 night stop over

We were booked in The Hub for a post cruise 2 night break. The location was superb right in the heart of the city, across the road from the station, close to all the shops, the waterfront.
The kind receptionist gave us a room on the 12th floor away from a party being held on the 2nd floor, we were grateful for this. The room was spacious with some curious art on the walls, had tea/coffee machine, lots of charging points and a massive shower room.
Breakfast was usual buffet but with so much choice of hot and cold foods, different juices, teas, coffees, catering for food allergies well too.
Everything in Oslo is expensive, food, drink, souvenirs etc etc but we were on holiday so had to try some of the local beers, these were great but at £22 for less than a pint didn't have many.
It was very cold -14 and snowy when we were there, cleats were a must on the shoes, we wandered around on food but the local transport appeared very good, a day ticket covered, buses, trams, metro too. We walked to the royal palace and was amazed how close you can get with not much obvious security unlike Buckingham Palace. We would have got the tram out to the sculpture park had it not been so cold on the face, everything else wrapped up warm.
We took a walk along the waterfront from the Opera house and watched the sun set then watched the locals using the saunas then breaking the ice in the fjord to cool off. A strange site for us to see but was very popular.
If we come back to Oslo again we would definitely stay in The Hub.

Excellent check in processes available to suit all types of travellers. Alexander recommended a room facing inwards due to one of us being a light sleeper. If you don’t mind mood lighting we found the room on the 4th floor to be excellent and super quiet. Great furnishings, coffee machine and body products available. Breakfast was next level and there was an overwhelming amount of choice - it’s busy so if you like a more leisurely pace select either opening or toward the later time frame to avoid the conference attendees. Gyms, pool and saunas excellent.
A nice meal and drinks were had at the down stairs bar followed by a drink at the roof top bar.
Excellent location to both the train station and the ferry terminal.

The hotel is gorgeous, great location and the room are very comfortable and large.
Slept really well and enjoyed the whole experience - particularly at Christmas time.
2 things that stopped it being 5 star. Firstly we didn’t get breakfast which we had paid for because they don’t start until 7.30am on a weekend and we had to leave for a flight at 7am. Very poor.
Secondly the hotel is stunning but there’s far too many QR codes and tech. Not good for older people, people with poor eyesight or people who just want to speak to a person and have the personal touch.
Tech should be optional and not compulsory:

As program customers, the staff went out of their way to acknowledge our membership and even surprised us with a complimentary room upgrade. The attention to detail and genuine hospitality made us feel valued and appreciated throughout our stay.
The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, with a modern and fresh ambiance. Our upgraded room was spacious, spotless, and well-equipped with all the amenities we could need. The quality of the furnishings and the overall standard reflected the hotel’s commitment to providing a luxurious experience for its guests.
The breakfast area was a highlight, offering an impressive variety of high-quality options. Despite the morning rush, the staff efficiently managed the flow, ensuring that all items were continuously replenished. The coffee station was well-organized, with multiple machines to accommodate guests, and the food was consistently served hot and fresh.
The Hub truly sets a high standard for service and comfort, and our stay was an absolute pleasure. We look forward to returning to this outstanding hotel on our next visit to Oslo.
