Resort fee includes everything from parking to golf, tennis, pickleball, basketball, bikes, table tennis, drop off and pick up within a two mile radius…. I usually hate resort fees (just include it in the room rate!!) but I honestly didn’t mind paying here. Yes the rooms could do with a bit of an update, but they are super comfy and clean. Would highly recommend!

Awful service, overpriced, bad food, rooms are not nice and very outdated. We had a horrible experience with extremely loud and violent sounding neighbors fighting throughout both nights we stayed. Cheeca management has done nothing to fix this experience and did not seem to care that guests completely ruined our stay with them. We were very excited to stay here but left extremely disappointed and will never come back. This hotel does not care about its guests and lacks some serious customer service for the prices it’s charging.

The property is gorgeous and so was our room. We stayed in a king suite. The bathroom had a large 2 person tub, plus a very nice shower with body jets. There were two vanities in our room, and a separate toilet room. Very nice. The balcony was screened in, which in warmer weather would have been nice, except for the sound of the air handlers that constantly run.
There are plenty of amenities: beach, tiki bar, multiple restaurants, tennis and pickle ball courts, spa, and a very nice hot tub. Most of the amenities we did not get to use because we unfortunately ended up there when Florida, even the Keys, were colder than normal. That of course is beyond the resorts control. However, I was unhappy with their tendency to keep the doors open despite the cold. Our first night there, we arrived in 50 degree weather and doors into the reception area were wide open. We didn't bring heavy coats. It had to be in the low 60s in that area, which is also the bar and one of the restaurants. The next day, I came back to our room while housekeeping was cleaning the room, and the staff person had the door to our balcony open. It was already 63 degrees in the room when we woke up and that did not help. I will give them this, they did have nice warm comforters on the bed. In case you are not aware, most hotels in lower Florida do not install heat because it is so rarely needed that it is not worth installing. So, the only way to keep the rooms warmer is to keep the doors and windows closed!
We ate in the Italian restaurant, pizza, and the Main restaurant, which was out on the back deck. Both were mediocre but really expensive. If you stay there, eat elsewhere. There are lots of good choices close by.
BUT, what really brought down the rating on this place was the numerous things in our room that did not function properly or some at all: the bathroom fans did not work, the toilet tank slowly leaked into the bowl causing the toilet to refill periodically, the kitchen counter outlets did not work, the sitting room fan light turned on and off randomly, the kitchen sink had some sort of leak that resulted in water all over the counter (which spoiled some snacks I had there), and the phone in the room did not work. Apparently, it was the only phone on the premises that did not work. So, if you want to order room service or contact housekeeping, you have to use your cell phone.
I gave the place a rating of 3 overall, mostly because the resort is gorgeous and there are lots of amenities.
