We very much enjoyed our recent getaway staying at The Carriage Inn B&B! The Charles Town location worked well for our plans to explore Harper’s Ferry and we were surprised with how much we enjoyed the Charles Town area as well, including a very cute Main Street area with shops and dining. Jonathan and Yvonne were excellent hosts and clearly love their work and the Inn! The house itself is in impeccable condition and the extra touches provided by the innkeepers made the stay extra special- from the fresh cookies and coffee/tea/beverages available all day, to the attentive service. We also loved that breakfast each morning had both a savory and a sweet portion. We will absolutely recommend the Carriage Inn to friends and family interested in visiting this area, and hope to return one day ourselves. Thanks for a great stay!

Probably one of the best B&Bs my husband and I have stayed at. The room is very clean, cozy and comfortable. It is also very quiet even though our room is on the ground level. The hosts Yvonne and Jonathan are extremely friendly and helpful. They are great cooks too! Breakfast is plentiful and delicious! We stayed for 3 nights and breakfast was different every day. We’ll definitely stay at this B&B again if we return to this area.

This was our first time in Charles Town, and our stay at The Carriage Inn could not have been a better introduction to the city. It was built in 1836 as a family home, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The home played a role in the Civil War as the local headquarters for General Sheridan, and also was visited by General Grant. It is conveniently located to downtown Charles Town and an easy walk to local restaurants and other attractions. The owners/innkeepers, Jonathan & Yvonne Lewis, are welcoming and gracious hosts. They are enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the history of the building, the Civil War, and Charles Town. Breakfasts are individually prepared and delicious. Yvonne goes out of her way to accommodate guests’ food allergies. Coffee, tea, and homemade cookies are available throughout the day. We enjoyed our stay at The Carriage Inn, and would love to stay there again.

Carriage Inn is a delightful, historic home built in 1736. The innkeepers, Yvonne and Jonathan have worked hard to showcase the significant Civil War history that took place here such as the meeting between Generals Sheridan and Grant. We stayed in a room where a flag carried by Stonewall Jackson was stashed under bricks in a hearth to hide it from Union generals. Charles Town is an amazing town surveyed by a young George Washington and named for his youngest brother. Delicious, full breakfasts carefully served.

Absolutely the best B&B I’ve ever stayed in! The inn is beautiful inside and out, and is a significant Civil War site itself in Charles Town, WV, a town of historic significance. Breakfasts were scrumptious, and the innkeeper very charming. Intend to stay there again.

This is our 5th visit and we can't recommend it enough to our friends! Yvonne and Johnathan are so inviting and accommodating to our every needs. The breakfasts are extraordinary and the afternoon freshly baked cookies or treats are not to be passed up! We stay in the Robin's Nest but the other rooms also look designer decorated, clean, spacious and quiet. Sitting on the porch any time of the day is just what we need to relax in this busy world. It's centrally located to several fine restaurants and Harper's Ferry NP. Definitely stay once and you'll return again and again!

Well kept historic home with wonderful hosts. We enjoyed our 2nd stay as much as our 1st! Delicious and plentfiful breakfasts, indulgent cookies, brownies, and bars to snack on after touring the town or sitting on the front porch swing. We will be back!

Great history and comfort blended into one. The hospitality and care provided by the owners is second to none! The breakfast was delicious. They take good care of you here. Having a personal porch was an excellent touch. Close to Harper's Ferry.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit. The house itself is lovely and Jonathan and Yvonne were the perfect hosts. Breakfast was excellent and we found the location to be very convenient both to Harper’s Ferry and some of the northern Virginia wineries.

My wife and I had wonderful stay at the Carriage Inn. It is a charming property that is meticulously maintained, yet comfortable and welcoming. Yvonne and Jonathan are outstanding hosts, and we even had the pleasure of meeting Walker Texas Ranger (at our request!), their personable Maine Coon. We also enjoyed the other guests at breakfast, which is delicious! The location is perfect for accessing Harpers Ferry, Shepherdstown, and Antietam. The recommendations were spot on. Hospitality at its best!

Our Copper Beach Suite Room was huge and equipped with everything we would need including a personal screened in porch and Jacuzzi bathtub as well as our own coffee/tea set up. The common facilities were wonderful - living room, dining room, porch, yard, etc. The breakfasts were delicious and unique. Plus each afternoon featured a different little treat. At our request, we met Walker, the cat who responds to dog like commands - "sit", "give me your paw" Oh, we came Arlington for a weekend away to visit Antietam and Harper's Ferry.

My wife and I stayed at the Carriage Inn in June while visiting nearby Antietam National Battlefield and Harper's Ferry. It's very conveniently located for these two spots. We had a great stay. We booked the Copper Beech Suite, and it was really nice. It has a comfortable bed, good shower, big whirlpool tub, and a private screened porch off the back where you can have breakfast served if you wish, an offer we took full advantage of. It's very quiet at night. The breakfasts here are really excellent. Our hostess, Yvonne, was wonderful and gave us a nice history of the house and town. Generals Sheridan and Grant met in the parlor to plan the Shenandoah campaign. She also gave some good dinner recommendations. Our favorite was The Press Room in nearby Shepherdstown, WV. The food and service was excellent there. If you are lucky you'll meet the resident cat, Walker, Texas Ranger. If you're looking for a B&B in the area, I don't think you will be disappointed at the Carriage Inn.

We absolutely loved the Sunrise Room--very comfortable and spacious. Yvonne and Jonathon are such gracious hosts. They gave such interesting information about the inn and the surrounding area. AND they spoil you with amazing breakfasts and special treats in the afternoon. Highly recommend!!!!
