After 20 years of staying at Carmel Country Inn, we hope to stay many more. It’s important to note that the same wonderful woman , Amy, is still the innkeeper. How many inns, hotels, b &b’s can say that? And then there’s Jackie who takes the reservations and helps us with anything we need. Where to begin? First of all, the location is quiet and beautiful. From the moment we check in, the caring experience begins. Maps and an offer to help us place bags in the room are always part of the scene. Everything is spotless. Let’s talk about breakfast and day long snacks and treats. You’ll be pleased by the variety of foods offered, and, after a day of roaming around Carmel, you can head to the office for some fruit, cookies, or treats. We bring our dog every time we go, and he loves the Inn. And then there are the people we’ve met over the years. Many are long time clients like we are. Won’t stay anywhere else. Nice people. The room is cozy with a fireplace a small refrigerator and a coffee bar. Great bed. It really is like home

Location is very good. Dangerous sidewalks to town but just walk in street. Rooms are old and tired. Paint peeling in bathroom and floors are desperately in need of replacement. Bed was nice. My husband wanted to visit Carmel by sea. We were both very unhappy with Carmel Country Inn. We were located in bottom floor extremely loud and the footsteps were loud. After two days they moved us. Nothing different the place is old.The breakfast was boring Same food everyday. Next time...

Wonderful two night stay. Part of our SF to LA road trip and decided to stay here on the way through and so glad we did. Excellent location, 10 min stroll into town or to the beach. Lovely and quiet with excellent parking. Very comfortable bedroom and lovely bathroom. Superb...

Wonderful two night stay. Part of our SF to LA road trip and decided to stay here on the way through and so glad we did. Excellent location, 10 min stroll into town or to the beach. Lovely and quiet with excellent parking. Very comfortable bedroom and lovely bathroom. Superb breakfast and added bonus of home made cake and biscuits (cookies) available throughout the day. We would definitely recommend this venue.

We loved this inn so much! The room was incredible, with a fireplace and double soaking tub. We were able to walk everywhere--coffee shops, restaurants, and even the beach. We went for our anniversary and will definitely be coming back next year.

Quiet, clean, extremely well-maintained inn close to lots of dining, ten minutes to beach; and on a less busy street. Staff are superior, breakfasts notches above what others offer, pet-friendly (Mr. Big!). We’ve stayed at >10 properties in Carmel through the years and this is right at the top.

Staff are exceptionally pet friendly and accommodating. My partner and I originally had reservations in March, just when the heavy rains, floods and road closures impacted the area. We live locally (Watsonville) so were also impacted at home. I called to modify the reservations just days before arrival and inn...

Staff are exceptionally pet friendly and accommodating. My partner and I originally had reservations in March, just when the heavy rains, floods and road closures impacted the area. We live locally (Watsonville) so were also impacted at home. I called to modify the reservations just days before arrival and inn keeper Amy was 100% understanding: she offered a cancellation with full refund, rescheduling, or modifying the reservation. I couldn't have been more satisfied with her response. We rescheduled for May, it was a wonderful 3-night stay. We stayed in an upstairs Luxury King Studio, having the balcony was an extra treat. Being within walking distance of downtown was so convenient. Room was very clean with a generous supply of towels. The morning buffet is very good, I loved their mini quiches. I highly recommend. We definitely plan to return.

We stayed in the Treehouse luxury king studio for a three night stay in Carmel and loved our room! Spacious with comfy bed, extremely quiet, large fireplace that quickly warmed the room. So light and airy with so many windows and nice patio to sit and enjoy our coffee or wine in the evening. All employees were so pleasant and helpful! Breakfast was very good with fresh fruit and variety of hot and cold choices. On Easter we opened our door to a basket filled with treats! Lots of pretty flowers and plants on the property. Bring a small car as parking is a little tight. Short walk to beach and downtown. A great experience overall!

Whenever we go to Carmel, the Carmel Country Inn is our go to place! Clean rooms, close walk to town with restaurants and shops and an easy walk to the beach. We also love that we can bring our dog and they have a very reasonable dog fee.

Great time at the Carmel Country Inn! 3rd time there with our dogs. Very quaint, clean and the staff are wonderful! Cookies for us and our furry friends! Fun in the summer time! Fun in the winter time! Carmel beach is the best off leash beach!

The location was excellent and within walking distance to most of the art galleries and many superb restaurants. The suite was perfect, and the staff was beyond friendly. The included breakfast was great as well!

We visited this inn for our annual Carmel Bach Festival trip. We’d never stayed at this spot, but recommend it highly. For me, the standout impression was that the entire staff were upbeat and happy…the sign of a well managed inn. Our room was quiet and nicely appointed, with its own private deck, fireplace, and jacuzzi tub. In lieu of wine and cheese, this inn has a seemingly endless supply of delicious cookies, and the breakfast fare includes the most delicious little quiches I’ve ever tasted…as well as fresh fruit, granola, oatmeal and lovely pastries. The dining area is open all day, so we had access to the microwave to reheat our takeout food for lunch. There’s an outdoor dining area surrounded by flowers, as well as an indoor location with fireplace. The location is near the heart of Carmel, so we were able to walk to the Sunset Center for the Bach festival. It’s also an easy walk to Carmel Beach, and the inn provides beach towels and sand buckets for the kids. Of course, it’s set in a delightful garden. All in all it’s a special place with some very thoughtful touches.

Outstanding hospitality, especially for families with dogs. The Inn is walking distance to shops, restaurants and the beach. The Tree Top Suite was perfect. We loved that the Inn is dog friendly in every way, inclusive of the amazing staff. They provided treats, a sheet to cover the bed for dogs, dog strollers, and also have a dedicated “potty” area on premise. Lucero on the team was especially kind and helped to make our stay memorable. Breakfast is good, and the Inn also provides snacks and treats throughout the day. Will definitely come back when visiting Carmel!
