If you want a great Rome experience in a hotel that's not a chain American hotel, this is a wonderful place. The rooms are large and comfortable, service is great, and the people staying there are a blend of nationalities. Sure, plenty of English speaking people, and the staff is pretty much bilingual (at least), but a real international clientele. And it's 3 blocks from the colosseum. The terrace, on the top floor, has a view, so you can eat or have a drink and look at the colosseum. Most sites are within walking distance, and we never took a cab or the metro while we were there.

The hotel itself was lovely. Centrally located, comfortable—breakfast was great. Joseph is amazing. Decent view of Colosseo though I wouldn’t call it panoramic. There are some actual local restaurants, not tourist traps, nearby. In those regards, we were very pleased. Breakfast was great, especially for the price. Based on prices...

There are some actual local restaurants, not tourist traps, nearby. In those regards, we were very pleased. Breakfast was great, especially for the price. Based on prices around the area my wife and I probably would’ve spent more on cappuccinos at a restaurant than we did the whole brekky at the hotel. The rest of the staff, awful. “Missing” shoes, ignoring DND sign on door afterwards. I won’t return. I expected better for the price. Housekeeping times varied wildly and they were frustrated if we need a quick change or to charge our phones before heading back out into the city. The staff was truly awful except for Joseph at breakfast and one of the night shift front desk employees

In addition to being a few blocks away from the colosseum there are a number of basilicas within walking distance. We stayed here mainly for that reason. Walked to 5 basilicas and took the metro (b line) to another over a 2 day stay. Very convenient. Also want to recognize...

Walked to 5 basilicas and took the metro (b line) to another over a 2 day stay. Very convenient. Also want to recognize Katia at the front desk. She was great from the time we arrived after a long flight from the states. She also made some excellent dining recommendations.

Fantastic location, superb service and fantastic breakfasts. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. A central location to enjoy the magical sights that Rome has to offer. The hotel offers a superb view of the collesium from the roof top.

Great visit to Rome, lovely hotel - so handy for seeing this beautiful city. Stayed before 9 years ago and loved it, returned end of August and was not disappointed- lovely staff so helpful and breakfast on the roof terrace overlooking the coliseum- breathtaking.

We occupied room 416 which had a private terrace overlooking the iconic Colosseum. We used that terrace constantly from an orange juice in the morning, afternoon cocktail hour, and a nightcap in the evening. Capo D'Africa Hotel is perfectly situated in the beautiful city of Rome. The front desk personnel were very helpful and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast on their breakfast terrace each and every morning.

A number of things made this a special place to stay to explore ancient Rome. The hotel is located within easy walking distance of the colosseum and the other attractions of ancient Rome. So, we were able to pull up in front of the hotel with our rented car; have the porter take our luggage and the valet park our car in the hotel garage and forget about while we walked around old Rome. The room was ample in size and very attractive. There are many restaurants in the area and the hotel restaurant is also quite good with a view of the Colosseum. Breakfast is served there as well and was a buffet with options for ordering as well. Definitely the place to be for our needs. Highly recommended.

Excellent location by the Coliseum and plenty if restaurants- nearly all of them tourist traps. Eat outside the area. Anyway, I'll stay again.

Hotel is in a nice little neighborhood near the colosseum. Room was lovely. We paid for breakfast included and it met every need. They have a rooftop bar area which was just the thing for a before dinner drink. Staff were attentive and friendly. Restaurants recommended by hotel were terrific....

We walked all over rome and were happy to come back to this hotel,after a long day. Would stay here again.

Rooms were comfortable and close to the coliseum. Breakfast was great. My only complaint is miscommunication with staff regarding making a reservation for dinner at the top deck our last night. He said it wasn’t necessary. When we arrived for dinner, the hostess seemed surprised to see and serve us...

He said it wasn’t necessary. When we arrived for dinner, the hostess seemed surprised to see and serve us . It wasn’t too crowded at the time around 7:30. However we were served in a side outside table and the service and food was great. Would recommend hotel

This out-of-the-way four star hotel is absolutely lovely. The breakfast was very nice, the service was superb, and the staff is incredible. It is conveniently located to the Colosseum and great little neighborhood restaurants. I highly recommend staying here.
