We only had one night here, sadly, but it fit our needs so well. Lisa was a thoughtful host and is happy to chat about the history of the home and the Charleston area. Our room was the perfect size, on the 2nd floor. Nice private parking available in the rear. We had a family home to visit nearby and it was such a gift to be able to walk there from the inn. We also could walk along the river and over to the Capitol, easily. I needed to access the state archives (which Lisa guided us to) and that was also only a short walk away. (There is a nice museum associated with the State Capitol but we didn't have time to visit.) Lisa's breakfasts were delicious and filling. She is a good cook and is also very conscience of healthy eating and accommodating her guests.

The best thing about the Brass Pineapple is the property. It was built in 1907, and it has been restored to something not far off what it would been like when first constructed. The only downside is the A/C, which was insufficient at night for our room. This was the only quibble for a beautiful, perfectly maintained and very comfortable home. It is also superbly situated, just a few metres from the Capitol. Breakfasts are home-made by Lisa, from ingredients that would cause most Americans metabolic shock; her commitment to organic, healthy produce is commendable as well as delicious. Lisa and her husband are delightful, easy-going people - capable of talking about more than themselves, and generous with insight as well as time. There may be better places to stay in Charleston. I cannot imagine where. For those who haven't the time to look, and for anyone seeking considerably more than a hotel, this is the city's golden apple.

We spent two wonderful nights at the Brass Pineapple Inn and enjoyed every minute of it. The Inn is in a lovely historic part of town and we could easily walk to the Capitol and downtown for dinner. Lisa is a tremendous host. She prepares magnificent, organic breakfasts and had delicious treats waiting for us each afternoon when we returned to the house. Our room was comfy, clean and beautifully decorated. We could not have asked for a greater experience. Very pleased with our stay.

Our stay was wonderful. The house is beautiful and located in a nice area. Lisa made us a delicious organic vegan gluten free breakfast both mornings during our stay. We will return the next time we are in Charleston.

Sweet B&B in a super convenient area. Lisa, the inn keeper, attends to every detail. Food is amazingly healthy, most items organic and prepared from scratch. Snacks and teas, etc available throughout the stay. Several GF options always on hand. A stay at this inn is a memory maker.

We stayed in the State King Suite on the third floor and since there isn't an elevator, Lisa offered to help us carry the luggage upstairs, It really wasn't a problem because we only had a couple of small suitcases. It was a large, quiet room with an adjoining bedroom if you needed the extra space. The view of the Capitol Building is right outside the front door, and there is a fabulous West Virginia State Museum that is right down the street. It is free and has so much to see and do, it was nice that we could walk over there a couple of times because we didn't have the time to see it all in one visit. Breakfast was something to look forward to and Lisa always asked in advance if what she had planned to prepare was acceptable. There was something different every day, and it was always delicious. Since I am a huge decaf coffee drinker, she made sure that there was a hot carafe of coffee available at all hours. In the afternoon and evening, there was a special dessert every day - homemade chocolate cake, oatmeal cookies, brown sugar pound cake... She was helpful with suggestions for restaurants, and it was nice to dine with the other visitors and share stories about travels and suggestions of things to do. Good location, wonderful hostess, and an older but comfortable home.

The Brass pineapple is just a few blocks from the Capitol Building. The Inn is a very nice house with a very nice hostess. She had good suggestions for places around town. She is a great cook and offers many gluten-free options. Very nice and very accommodating last-minute reservations

The Brass Pineapple Inn was a great choice. The Innkeeper, Lisa, was a gracious host and her breakfast was superb. Lisa was very attentive to all of our needs. We highly recommend a stay in historic Charleston and the Brass Pineapple Inn.
