We loved every minute and will most certainly be booking again sometime in the hopefully not too distant future. This is truly a place to come and feel relaxed and at home the second you arrive.

The attention to detail is excellent and nothing is too much trouble with some lovely touches. The general atmosphere is calm, elegant and efficient and the staff are professional and friendly. We will definitely return and another plus is the close proximity to the shops, restaurants etc although set back two streets so lovely and quiet too.

The welcome by arriving, all the details and the comfort in the beautiful Suite, the extraordinary breakfast in the garden, everything made you frelon at Home. The most important though is the kindness and professionality of the staff ! Always ready to help ! Not to forget the pre-Dinner/Night with live-Musical in the Orangerie! All those Things made made our holiday a very special stay. We highly recommend this Boutique Hotel in Franschhoek.

It has taken me a few weeks to think about writing an amazing review for Akademie and all the amazing staff, and of course the super amazing Declan. Finally I came to the conclusion that I can’t top what has already been written, and express just how fantastic this place...

It has taken me a few weeks to think about writing an amazing review for Akademie and all the amazing staff, and of course the super amazing Declan. Finally I came to the conclusion that I can’t top what has already been written, and express just how fantastic this place is any better than those who have gone before me. All I can say is that it is without doubt the best hotel I have ever stayed in, the attention to detail is off the charts. The staff can’t do enough for you, super friendly, attentive, kind and polite. Declan is well, just a top bloke and as both ardent Man Utd fans we shared in each others sorrow….. If you are thinking about going to Franschhoek, don’t think about it too hard, just book it and make sure you book into Akademie, you won’t be disappointed. And if you go, just marvel at this place and be kind to Declan, us Man Utd supporters need all the kindness we can get…….. Enjoy!!!!!

Nothing is too much trouble and Declan is more than happy to arrange and advise on things to do and restaurants to visit etc. Gorgeous swimming pool with very comfy loungers - we spent two days just chilling around the pool - absolutely perfect. Would highly recommend.

Our second visit to Franschhoek and what an establishment to find. the visit was short notice and after not being able to find suitable dates elsewhere Akademie Street came up trumps. The hotel is situated in some of the old historic buildings of Franschhoek and during your stay you take a walk through the history with the antique decor. Our suite was simply out of this world, all one could ask for. Complimentary wine and snacks. Daily stocked mini bar. There was even a hot tub. We were looking for a relaxing few days and this was certainly the right place. Declan and his team were simply excellent and the service is personal. We were made to feel at home from the minute we arrive until we left. They really go out of their way to make you feel part of the family at every turn. Breakfasts are well thought out with a wide choice on the menu, from fruits and yoghurts to a full english. The egg benedict is also superb. The staff are really friendly and very attentive. Although the hotel does not have an evening restaurant. there is an absolute gem provided in terms of wine and snacks accompanied by a pianist so you can have a per dinner drink, before heading off to the culinary delites of Franschhoek. Would definitely recommend the Akademie StreeT Boutique Hotel if you are thinking of staying in Franschhoek. The awards as you enter have really been earned and they live up to everyone of them. Here hoping they go from strength to strength in the future. We will certainly want to return.

Another fantastic experience. 2 aspects makes this a special place to stay: the incredible attentional to detail in every aspect of the experience, from the original furniture, antiques art, hot tub etc in the room, to the pool side, to evening drinks with the pianist playing in the conservatory; and the extremely high levels of service delivered by Declan and the team, alway enquiring how to help in any aspect of the trip both in the hotel and outside, including when things go wrong. A very special place.

We stayed in this lovely hotel for 2 nights. It is small , very cosy place. It exceeded our expectation , even we did not spend much time hire. Very nice personal , cocktails, small pool, great breakfast - all that helps you really feel great and relax. Just in 15 minutes by unhurried walk and you can jump in vine-train and have nice trip on several wineries , where you can taste very delicious wine.
