Eddie (butler) made our sand table dinner a really awesome / memorable event. The set up is incredible & alot of time & effort goes into it. Definitely recommend - we loved it. We also had a fire show on the beach after the sunset, really worth while.
Lastly, laundry service. Very well priced for a same day service. Returned to my door beautifully pressed hung / folded & presented in protective wrap.

We could actually see Berjaya as we flew in..a short taxi ride ( 40 MYR) via the taxi office outside and we were there. As we arrived about 11.00am there was a wait while a room was allocated, the breeze and fans in the lobby doing their best to cool us off. The initial impression was "Wow!" with the high wooden vaulted ceiling and views out across lush gardens to the beach and The Andaman Sea. We had booked a Rainforest room( green view) and pre-requested ,if possible, a room with few access steps. We were aware of the unique settings of chalets, studios and villas throughout the site ,up a hillside, in wooded areas. Also that movement about the site is conducted on buggys which can be requested from your room phone. We were delighted to be told we had been upgraded to a sea view villa on stilts although as we were transported to it we realised the experience of Berjaya was going to be different to what we expected. The journey to our villa was about four minutes in the buggy and the villa, on the second row behind the Premium ones, fulfilled and exceeded expectations. Bright, clean, comfortable,a daily restocked mini bar, great shower ,toiletries, ample clothing storage, massive bed. It's position on the sea front access road, facing out to sea meant no overhanging trees and ,probably no visits from the monkeys but we appreciated the step up in quality of accommodation.
As it was we saw macaques everywhere, hornbill round the pool, monitor lizards ambling along the road and ultimately the Dusky Leaf monkeys, black squirrels and even barracuda under the pier when we ate at Pahn Thai restaurant.
The whole site is beautifully landscaped, lots of inclined paths, numerous steps,a pool, jacuzzi pool, and kids paddling pool, a good pool bar, great Lobby bar, reception, spa and shop. It's so lush and tropical ,lots of exotic bushes and plants...shout out to the gardening team!
The beach bar provides food and drink to those who may choose to use the beach and its shady rush parasols, the beach Brasserie, our favourite, for fabulous sunset dinners and occasional sunrise breakfast. Oriental Pearl for great Chinese food,Dayang cafe for buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Finally,Pahn Thai restaurant for sunset dinners, great food, some live music and only two minutes walk to our swish villa! Do you guess that we loved this place?!..we are back home only two days and I've already booked flights back to Langkawi for next year!..we encountered zero problems, only lovely people, doing a great job, making our dreams come true.
It does get busy for breakfast about 9.00am and the pool sunbeds will soon fill up...you need to manage your timings to enjoy this place to the full.
We booked a MANGROVE river tour via the hotel ( 180 Myr per person)...it was absolutely the best hotel provided tour we've been on...yes,you can do it yourself, get a taxi, book a boat, get short changed on time and experiences, don't have a meal but to have a Geopark ranger with us and be fast tracked through some of the hold ups was worth it.
We thought it was great value...I don't know what price doing it yourself is but everything was literally done to make the tour go great.
Well done Berjaya, a great experience, I'll be booking for next year real soon!

my husband and i been to this beautiful place in november '24. It was our 3the time in this hotel. And we are in love with the area. There is a lot of wildlife witch we love. The staff is amazing, really friendly and kind. Every day we went to the poolbar for a nice cold coctail. The members of the pool are great. Sheighffrey/louis Kamal, dimmy and kaghendra are the best and made it a unforgettable time! Sheighffrey/louis even got my husband to drink one of there coctails witch is quite a hard thing to do 🤣
Also Anil from the beach cafe was really sweet. The food is amazing at every restaurant but our favoriete is the Dayang Cafe! Again all the staff from berjaya are so nice that its to many to name all of them. We are looking forward to come back this year!

The Berjaya Hotel Langkawi is a 30-minute drive from the airport. Instead of ordering a taxi from the taxi rank inside the airport, it is best to use the GRAB app to order a Grab taxi for around 25 ringgit (€6 - varies depending on demand and time of day). Alternatively, you can approach the Grab drivers waiting outside on the way out.
The hotel is a well-oiled tourism machine without being impersonal. It was impressive to see the number of guests arriving and departing at the same time in the large lobby, as well as the confident handling of the reception and the very organised hotel-owned buddy service, which brings guests and luggage to the widely distributed rooms.
The same applies during the holiday: whether at breakfast or at the loungers by the pool/beach, the guests of the always well-booked hotel somehow spread out so that you can always feel like you are on ‘your’ holiday.
Everything is well thought out, the selection of snacks/meals at the Beach Café, the bar in the pool and the pizza oven between the two locations, as well as sufficient toilets and showers. The hotel's souvenir shop sells drinks and things you might have forgotten (sun cream, beach shoes, clothes – in addition to the usual knick-knacks).
As a rule, you don't see your hotel room during the day, which helps to hide the fact that you can't really use the inviting balconies, for example. As soon as you sit down there, the monkeys nearby are on the lookout to see if you want to enjoy the chips or nuts from the included minibar, which is restocked daily. A British woman told us that she was surrounded by 10 monkeys within seconds when she wanted to make herself comfortable with her husband.
Otherwise, the Berjaya is perfect, even for a short break. There is no need to leave the hotel, and a short walk (about 7 minutes) away is the Sky Cab with Sky Bridge. An impressive gondola system (Austrian ski lift technology) that takes you up to a height of 650m and to the Sky Bridge, a truly impressive construction on which you can walk between two hills and enjoy the view.
When travelling to this hotel, you should pack sun cream (the pleasant wind makes the heat seem cooler and can lead to severe sunburn going unnoticed), flat shoes (depending on the room, you may have to walk up many steep steps without a handrail) and a sun hat, so you can fully enjoy the long beach days.
Meals are all resonable priced, of good quality and offer a wide choice - both à la carte or at the breakfast /dinner buffets.
If you want to go somewhere else for a change , you can order a grab taxi and go to Centang but we found it difficult to find a real varity of proper restaurants there, but were very pleased with Yasmin, a syrian restaurant.

We booked a Rainforest Suite for MYR 1,100 per night for a 3-day, 2-night stay at Berjaya Resort Langkawi, but unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations for a resort of this price range.
Upon arrival, we noticed a lack of attention to detail. There was no one to assist with our luggage, despite seeing a foreign couple being helped with theirs. This double standard left us feeling overlooked as locals. The check-in process at the front desk was smooth, but things went downhill from there.
The room itself was disappointing. It felt outdated, with creaky floors that made noise with every step. The furniture was broken, and we were surprised to find no face towels provided. The balcony was unsafe due to rotten wood, and the TV was a relic from the early 2000s, far from the expected standard for a 5-star resort. To make matters worse, the information in the room was printed on recycled templates and had visible stains.
Breakfast on the first day was lackluster. The variety was minimal, and to our disgust, the juice bottle had mold growing inside it. We were also disappointed by the lack of any managerial presence—no one asked about our stay or made an effort to address our concerns. The second day’s breakfast at Dayang Café was much better, with a wider selection and more enjoyable experience. However, when we saw a foreign guest taking pastries back to their room, we requested the same but were declined without explanation. Again, we were left wondering if this was due to us being locals.
On the positive side, the beach was lovely, and the Thai restaurant and spa were quite nice. However, given the high price we paid, the lack of attention to service and the poor condition of the room were completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, during check-out, no one inquired about the satisfaction of our stay—another sign that the resort just didn’t care about guest feedback.
All in all, this was far from the 5-star experience we had hoped for.

Good things:
This is probably the best located hotel on the island, practically in the rainforest. If you want the feeling of being in a jungle, surrounded by special animals and able to eat all day at a good price-value ratio, then this is the perfect choice :)
We requested a rainforest studio, it is a very spacious room type, we really liked it. If you prefer walking, it is worth noting this in advance to the hotel and they will give you a room that is not at the very end of the resort. We were in 4123, about 5-10 minutes walk from the lobby and pool. (down 5, up 10 :D).
The minibar is refilled daily, which is also a plus. The bed was very comfortable. The pool and beach are beautiful, maybe even more beautiful than in the pictures.
The breakfast has a huge selection of food.
I would like to highlight the kindness of Nasrullah at the pool bar and Amerul at the Thai restaurant. They were the two nicest people in the whole hotel.
The prices of food and drinks are very reasonable. We had dinner 3 times in the main restaurant and 3 times in the Thai restaurant, I think the Thai is far the best. There are vegetarian and gluten free options at every meal.
Negatives:
We expected the hotel and the furniture to be old-fashioned, but sometimes we were really surprised about the conditions of some of the facilities. Furthermore sometimes we felt like they were stuck in the 2000's (breakfast vouchers, hand-writing list at the restaurant, at the pool, thus generating longer queues everywhere).
There could be plenty of sunbeds on the beach and then there wouldn't be a problem that there aren't any free sunbeds for those who don't arrive in the morning.
The staff at Danyan Café is not the best and they are not very friendly. So we went to the Thai restaurant instead, where the service was years better.
Not everyone speaks English well, which makes communication sometimes difficult.
They don't serve any kind of plant-based milk ANYWHERE in the entire hotel, which I think is unacceptable in today's world and especially in a 5-star hotel. After 3 days of craving an iced coffee, I went to all the restaurants, cafes in the hotel and finally at the lobby bar a lady told me that if I buy a plant-based milk in the hotel's souvenir shop (which was 2 steps from the lobby bar), they would make it for me. I don't think that this is the right way to serve a customer in a 5-star hotel.
They often ran out of food and drinks in the pool bar.

Berjaya Langkawi is a very well maintained and picturesque resort with lots of activities. It has a very well maintained, clean and picturesque beach and pool too. We had a great stay at the resort. We stayed in a Green-view cottages that was an independent cottage providing a great tree-house experience. However, commuting from/to Green-view cottages were impossible without cart (That way Beach-view cottages are better, though they do not provide tree-house experience).
The breakfast was nice and very elaborate, with good veg food options. It also had a decent veg food options in meal menu.

this is my third time to this hotel over the bast 7 years, it has not been changed since then, very old furniture and full of stains, full of bugs and ants (do not think because of jungle I have been in another two hotels inside the jungle with Zero bugs inside the rooms), need serious renovation for everything, toilets ceramics are old and brokens, shower not working properly, AC is very noisy, bad guest relationship, bad check in and check out experience, we have been requested 2 hours to check in waiting in the lobby and guess what once it become 3 pm and we check in the room was not ready the bed sheet was full of stains and the minibar was not filled, we communicated the same to the hotel but no action been taken, second day room cleaning was so bad again a new bedsheet with stains, forgot to empty the trash and forgot to refill the mini bar the worst service ever, there are much much better choices in same range or even cheaper, I will never go there again until serious renovation done. do not waste your money.
by the way this is the suite room, but my review applies also to family room, and chalet which i stayed earlier.

To wake up with noise from monkey in the morning was so much feeling. The service from the staff was excellent, they was so friendly all the time.
I think that the meeting with the friendly monkey Dusty Leaf make so strong impact on us. 14 Dusty Lefs monkey at the same time was beat memory of the whole week. The breakfasts 10 meter from the sea at the restaurant, that was amazing. I can really give you my recommendation if you like nature, beach, monkey and good food

Location of the hotel is picture perfect, set into the edge of the forest and with its own beech. The views are spectacular and it’s only 20 minutes from the airport (£4 in a taxi if you download the Grab App).
The hotel itself is pleasant but pretty much everywhere we went (apart from the Thai restaurant and the Beach restaurant) is worn and in desperate need of investment.
This place has just been neglected and not moved with times. There was also generally a lack of an atmosphere and music was limited to someone singing melancholily songs on a piano in the evening.
On a positive we saw some amazing wildlife during our stay in the resort and there was lots of information about wildlife and how to protect it during your stay.
There’s also a great shuttle service on an electric buggy to travel around the resort.
The staff were a mixed bag. Some went above and beyond and were some of the most lovely and friendly people I’ve ever met. The others seemed robotic and disinterested and board, which wouldn’t have annoyed me as much if it wasn’t for the 10% service charge slapped on absolutely everything.
Overall nice enough but wouldn’t stay again.

We never had to wait more than 5 mibutes for the shuttle. Very convenient to all the 'Sky' activities and Oriental Village. Lovely dinner and breakfast. The only negatives would be seeing some guests feeding the busy leaf monkeys, even though there were signs asking not to, and people putting towels etc on lounges and not using them for most of the day.

We deliberated over booking this hotel. It was fine. To be honest it has seen better days and need a bit of maintenance.
Our room on stilts was a tree house overlooking the car park. The hotel did offer to move us into a more pleasantly located tree house but as this was offered on day 3 of a 4 night say, we politely declined. The resort is quite extensive and does have everything you need but it lacks charisma and heritage. Some staff seemed to be going through the motions and not that happy. It was a busy place and I’m sure they are tired but others do hospitality better. Conveniently located for the sky cab and cable car only 15 mins walk away

Wow this hotel is absolutely beautiful. Truly a magical place. Never have I encountered so much nature in such a beautiful environment. The warm hospitality of all the staff was also superb, everything and everyone was just perfect. We booked a premier sea view chalet and the view was fantastic. It was lovely to arrive and find they had decorated our room for my birthday, and even included a small cake. Such a nice welcome. Pool area is picturesque, laying on a sunlounger and seeing brightly coloured hornbills on the palm trees. Relaxing to enjoy a swim and pool towels are provided which is a nice touch. Then walking back to our chalet and seeing monkeys, flying lemurs and geckos. The dusky leaf monkeys are great to see, with their golden babies, swinging in the trees and eating the leaves right in front of you, it's just so lovely.
Beach is clean and spacious, the sea is clear and calm and we enjoyed having an afternoon swim. The Dayang cafe offers a large extensive breakfast buffet, so much choice. Cocktails were good, a large selection too. We booked a mangrove tour through the hotel, an absolute must, you get to see eagles, bats, macaque monkeys and coral fish.
The hotel has a good gift shop and a welcoming reception area- on check-in we were warmly welcomed and given a purple sweet pea welcome drink.
This place is truly amazing and we stayed for 6 nights, our only wish is that we could have stayed longer. Thank you Berjaya for such a great relaxing stay.

Well what a fantastic place, you are properly in a rain forest but with amenities we expect. We stayed in a rainforest room and it was all wooden floors and a beautiful clean and modern sanaitaryware including a fabulous rain shower. The bed was massive and extremely comfortable. We also had a lounge, desk and mini bar - which is replenished daily. It contains a couple of snacks, beers and soft drinks.
The restaurants for breakfast there were two. The main one the Berjaya cafe probably does one of the best breakfast options we have had. The roti stations were amazing, multiple egg stations and lots of fresh pastries and juices. Sets you up for the day. We also ate in the Chinese, the beach brassiere, the Thai and spent time at the beach bar too. All the staff and service was brilliant and such friendly staff. Too many to name.
The resort itself is build into the rain forest and we often would wander around to spot the wildlife and you realise how sprawling the resort is. Many places are tucked away. What is brilliant and runs 24 hours a day is the shuttle bus that will pick you up from your door and drop you to somewhere else in the hotel. You wait let than 2 mins.
The pool and swim up bar are lovely and clean and easy to use, we spent lots of time on the beach and again the water sport team are friendly and offer a wide ranging activities. The “umbrellas” on the beach are basically massive wooden structures so are superb for the searing heat!
The hotel shop is brilliant it has a jewelers within it - with some fabulous stones and jewelry. Many hotel shops I ignore as they are a bit nasty and full of “tut”. Well worth a visit lots of nice gifts as well as some food and drink!
What I find really hard to understand is if I just read these reviews I wouldn’t have gone to this resort, some of these reviews appear to either been written by someone who is a bit grumpy or has an issue with the hotel.
It is a hotel built of wood and has a massive team of ground staff and maintenance teams and they seem to be constantly repairing and updating areas/rooms - which I think is a good thing. So the points about it being dated and tired and don’t think are accurate based on our experience. If you are looking for gleaming glass and marble this is not the hotel for you. But you must know that when you book it.
Finally the wildlife around is superb the horn bills are amazing and bob about from one tree to the other. Also there are two types of monkeys long tailed macaque and dusky langur (spectacle leaf monkey) and we saw a couple of monitor lizards too.
Fab place to stay and its location to the sky walk and sky car is a 5 min walk (or you can get the hotel shuttle) is brilliant.
If you are reading this and considering going, go you won’t be disappointed.
We stayed for 7 nights and was a great relaxing place.

We booked a stand alone Jungle Chalet for over a week for the last leg of our holiday as an add on.
Check in - very underwhelming, nothing special, no proper or personal welcome just going through the motions, just another face to check in probably because it is such a large hotel.Reception was very busy, the receptionist was difficult to understand, she demanded a deposit of €900 or $900 for the stay, I was flabbergasted at the amount she either wanted cash or credit card hold, when we questioned this further it turned out to be 900 ringetts not dollars or euros, a big difference. We were told that we could go to our room or go to the bar and ask for a welcome drink, you usually receive these when you arrive.
When we arrived at the chalet, the room was very dark, even though it was still daylight you actually couldn't tell because of the thick undergrowth around the chalet, not rainforest trees but more like a hedge or a green wall, making it impossible to sit on the balcony ( we had come from the Borneo rainforest and it was nothing like this). The room smelt damp and was very dated. We didn't unpack but went back to reception to request a change. An upgrade to an over water villa they wanted an extra £2000.00 or for a sea view room with connecting door they wanted an extra £986.00. we actually considered cancelling our booking and finding another hotel. In the end the manager said that he could move us the next day to a different jungle chalet, this one had jungle and sea view which we agreed to it took around 2 hours to get to this point. The first night in that first chalet was the worst night sleep ever in a hotel. The Aircon was old and very noisy and the WiFi router shone a green glow into the room around every 3 seconds making it impossible to sleep.
We moved the next morning to the new chalet which was exactly the same but had been refreshed, the Aircon was acceptable and no green glow from the WiFi router in the room it was much more comfortable and less claustrophobic. On looking around the resort any of the other chalets looked much better than the one we were given originally, I pity the next person who is given this room.
The resort is very large many guests and staff.
Room - mini bar restocked daily, quality toiletries and comfortable bed, clean. Also a magnifying mirror in the bathroom which was useful although the bathroom lighting was pretty dim. Water provided although only 2 small bottles which isn't enough but you can request up to 8 small bottles a day, they just don't let you know and there isn't anywhere in the resort that you can top up water unless you buy from the bar or shop.
Shop- well stocked and you can buy wine, beers, gin, whiskey, soft drinks and snacks quite reasonably.
Food - the Chinese was awful. Pan Thai was by far the best restaurant for Thai food and the lovely lady from Kota Kinabalu. Dayang Cafe, ok, bit like a canteen, busy and noisy but would have liked more local food on the menu, a rendang maybe instead of 'international', some of the dishes were over salted. Overall the food was just ok not the best of the trip.
Beach - lovely white sandy clean beach and corded swimming area, enough sunbeds but they could have more. The beach staff were very friendly and pleasant. Lovely view across the bay and beach around the corner ( if you ignore the bulldozers)
Beach.pool towels - not available until 9am, very odd. Because it is cooler around 8am people were wanting the towels then, you signed them in and out which wasn't a problem.
When we booked the hotel didn't inform us of the construction of a new hotel next door, had we been aware of this we never would have booked this hotel, the construction noise was intrusive at the beach, big machinery could be seen and heard even at the sunbeds furthest away and taking place all day every day but 1 out of our 9 night trip. So it really spoiled the peace of the beach.
To summarise, this is a resort not a hotel, you are just another face in the crowd, might be ok for a few days but not the length of time we stayed, not particularly our bag we were pleased that this was an add on to the main part of our trip for a rest and relaxation otherwise we would have been disappointed and in hindsight we should not have booked this. It is not a 5 star by any means. It is a bit of a chore not being able to get to and from your room under your own steam because it is so large, you have to use a buggy and you can't just hop on one you have to order it either from your room or the lobby, both of which are quite far from the beach, you can't just nip back to your room if you forget something.
Note - this is our opinion and experience and may differ from others.

This is one of the best holidays we have ever had! Absolutely beautiful resort, yes slightly rustic, but part of the charm of being part of something truly special. The, staff, wildlife, setting, food, beach, pool, service, drinks are all outstanding we wanted for nothing.
Cannot wait to return.
Well… Absolutely fantastic! It’s nice and not nice booking a holiday. We all work so hard to play hard and worrying if the holiday you’re about to book is going to be worth the money and all you wish it to be! We have been back a week from an...

We have been back a week from an 8 night stay and my heart is still so full. We have built memories at The Berjaya that will stay with us forever. We saw an abundance of wildlife around the hotel, beach and pool and our beautiful rainforest suite including Dusty and Macaque monkeys, Hornbills, Flying Lemurs, Giant Squirrel and even a visit from a Monitor Lizard around the pool catching his lunch.
Our rainforest suite was great, giving the wow factor when you walk in. The mini bar was topped up everyday and the cleaners made the room feel like the first day you walked in everyday.
Sky Bridge is an easy 10 minute walk and the Seven Wells waterfall about 30.
My Husband and I love our spa days and enjoy a good massage. The Berjaya Spa is out of this world and our massages I have to say were probably the best we’ve ever had.
The staff and all of the restaurants were first class. We booked the half board package which was perfect. The food was amazing, full of flavour and so much variety.
The buggy’s used to transport you from A-B were great and arrived promptly every time we used them.
We did the Mangroves private tour and Sunset cruise, both booked through the hotel and I highly recommend them both.
You will love The Berjaya and I promise you don’t need to look any further.
Thank you to everyone that works so hard to provide a 5* stay in every way.
We will be booking again and can’t wait to see you all.

The resort is a hidden gem. We stayed in a Premier Water Chalet with half board - originally booked for 2 nights but stayed 5. The rooms is situated over the water and has a wonderful view of the bay. The staff are excellent and the service is exceptional. You need to catch a shuttle to get to and from your room as the resort is spread out however the shuttle is at your door within minutes. The beaches are clean and the pool area is nice. There are lots of activities if you want to engage or simply just relax. The food at the resort is good especially the Chinese restaurant. There is a band most nights and we always found it easy to get a day bed on the beach. Beach brasserie is best for breakfast if you want to relax. The nicest feature was the staff filling the spa bath each night in the room and putting in rose petals. Great resort.

We had an enjoyable 2 night stay here .
The room was spacious and comfortable with excellent air conditioning. They offered a shuttle bus on a golf cart to and from your room which was free of charge and well run.
We received an email for a transfer from the airport which came to £50 GBP, however used the app "Grab" which is similar to Uber and it was about £6.
There are friendly staff on the concierge as well as arranging the shuttles and on reception.
The resort itself has a lovely pool and a beautiful beach which was clean.
We had breakfast included and between the hours of 1500 - 1700hrs there was a snack bar for small local bites (not selected by you, it's like a small buffet).
We were dissapointed by the service at dinner, we stood for 8 minutes waiting to be seated and decided to just walk in. We helped ourselves to the buffet and not once were we offered any drinks
We really feel if this could be sorted it would have been the perfect resort.
Location wise we thought this was excellent. They have a shuttle bus at the hours of 10, 12 and 2pm to take you to the Skybridge. However you do have to walk back which was only a 10 minute walk and well worth doing.
My partner had a throat infection during our stay there and they have an onsite clinic which was able to prescribe antibiotics which we are grateful for.
Overall, a truly lovely resort and just a few tweaks and we would have given this a 5.
