You will find wallabies on the lawn, assertive cockatoos in the trees, clear warm water, beach chairs under thatched umbrellas, a comfortable room, an excellent breakfast, and great service at the Beach Club on Hamilton Island. A tropical vacation doesn't get much better than this.
The Beach Club is located on a private island just off the mainland and is a popular destination for Australian tourists. The island has a local reputation for being 'posh", but we found the Beach Club to be friendly with diverse visitors. Most of the business here are owned by a single company and cash is not accepted at most places. Bring your credit card or charge items (including meals) to your room.
Many visitors rent an electric 'buggy" to explore the island independently, but you will quickly run out of new places to see in about 3 days. We found the hotel's shuttle transport to be a much better option at night and in the rain. Everything on the island is less than 10 minutes away.
Breakfast is excellent. You have the choice between seven hot items plus fruit, pastries, and tea and espresso-based drinks from the barista. Tip for Americans: order the flat white if you crave brewed coffee with cream. We ate dinner in the restaurant on our first night, and thought the chef was trying too hard to pack multiple flavors into simple dishes such as grilled fish.
I really appreciate the Beach transport and luggage service to/from the airport. Be sure to keep your airplane luggage tags when you arrive so the staff can identify your items without you.
Hamilton Island is a welcome retreat from the rat-race and a great place to relax. Highly recommended.

I had booked our Honeymoon stay at Beach Club months in advance and my wife and I were so excited upon arrival to Hamilton Island - that said we were consistently shocked by the level of service and how all of our expectations were substantially exceeded! Our trip started with a ride from the airport and and welcome drink in the very luxurious lounge. The resort itself is immaculate with incredible views I never tired of looking at - whether it be over our large balcony, at the gorgeous infinity pool, or from a beach chair / hammock. The beach and pool never got too crowded, and there was always plenty of space for us at both. I loved our room - waking up to the sound of crashing waves every day was a treat I’m going to dearly miss. The rooms had substantial amount of space and a large bed, with great lighting options and a bountiful balcony. The Aesop products they had in the bathroom were very nice as well. Overall the resort exudes an air of elegance and sophistication without feeling stuffy at all. I think this is well represented by the cockatoos and wallabies all over the green areas of the property, which were so cute and never felt invasive. Staff were all so, attentive, friendly and communicative - I need to shout out everyone I can remember including Anna, May, Alex, Luke, Josh, Jasmine and Dalton. The team handled all of luggage to and from the hotel, provided free rides to anywhere on the Island we wished to go and back, (honestly glad we didn’t opt for a buggy due to that!) and even assisted with securing us reservations for trips and activities! The staff offered us congratulations at every opportunity including a free bottle of champagne!
A few points I wanted to note, which will not detract from a 5 star review and me saving up to come here again - I feel the need to say as I didn’t see these points crop up and would want to know as a potential customer. I plan to write more individual reviews where possible:
I opted for the “Rose petals, Piper Heidseick Champagne and Chocolate Dipped Strawberries” for my wife to be surprised by when we walked in (she LOVED the roses it!) but the combined platters were laughably small when you consider the whole package was $285 AUD (~$180 USD currently).
Communication could be improved between teams and customers. Being from the US and wanting to plan as much as possible in advance, I used the website to book several tours, experiences etc and received a “confirmation” screen or a “request to book received” screen (???) but never got an email confirmation or had a credit card transaction registered. Nervous, I tried to email all departments that I could and used live chat only to never got a response. It was only when I borrowed a friend’s phone with an international plan and called in SUPER late EST that I uncovered my transactions failed (weird because they worked for other things I was prebooking in Australia) or my reservation was never secured. No trouble as it was sorted when we arrived, although I wonder if that could be addressed if we visited during a busy time.
Again, none of this can detract from my over the moon love of this resort - I mean that, and very much hope to come back one day!

We spent four happy days and five nights at Beach Club where we greatly enjoyed the views, the excellent staff (Paris was particularly outstanding as was her Irish colleague, who forgive me I have forgotten her name) and the good food. The infinity pool is delightful and Hamilton Island itself is a wonderful place to ‘chill’.
One point I would make that prevented me giving five stars is that of our five evenings we ate on four occasions in the hotel restaurant, it was very surprising to find that on every occasion the menu was identical. We were also surprised to have to twice request that our room was made up when at 2.00 it hadn’t been. That said if you are going to visit HI and you are a couple then it is well worth considering The Beach Club. We’d return if it wasn’t 11K miles away.

My husband and I enjoyed our 5 night stay! We loved the luxurious and pampering experience from the time we arrived at the airport to check out. The view from our room (second floor) was spectacular. Every room has an ocean view. The restaurant had good options for cuisines.
Best Place on Hamilton Island
We had such an amazing experience at the beach club. The service and hospitality was unmatched. The food was also very good and the location is great. We never had to wait for a ride anywhere and when we would ask to be picked up they arrived swiftly. Highly recommend.
A lovely, relaxing and enjoyable stay!

We stayed at the Beach Club following an absolutely amazing night on the Reef Pontoon so we were prepared to be a little disappointed with our stay at the Beach Club, but we were pleasantly surprised. I had put in the booking notes that it was my husband's 60th birthday celebration and when we arrived in our room we found a bottle of sparkling wine on ice, which was a lovely surprise.
We were arriving by boat at the Marina and had arranged to be picked up by the Beach Club's shuttle bus. We were expecting to be met by a Beach Club representative holding a Beach Club sign but couldn't see anyone and it was only when I realised that the numberplate of a minibus that had arrived had BC on it that we found our bus. Note to hotel: it would have been helpful for your driver to have held up a sign so we could immediately locate it.
Our bedroom and bathroom were lovely - very spacious and tastefully furnished. Our room was on the ground floor with its own private patio looking out onto the gardens with their own resident wallabies. The beach and sea were just the other side of the hedge separating the gardens from the beach so we did not quite get a beach view but we could see the sea beyond, which was lovely, and the hedge did keep everything private. We enjoyed sitting out on our patio, but the experience was slightly marred by the music coming from the pool and activity centre next door, although this only happened on one day and we were there for three days.
One other reviewer has noted that the rooms were not cleaned until late in the afternoon, which was our experience too. I appreciate that the rooms where there is a turnaround need to be done first, but it is a little frustrating not to have one's room cleaned until 3/4pm.
The infinity pool was absolutely beautiful with a stunning view out to sea and was perfectly heated. There were a few cases of people putting towels on the sunbeds at dawn but no-one using them for quite a while. We noted two where no-one appeared for at least two hours. This is incredibly frustrating and unfair for those who want to use the pool but can't find anywhere to sit. We feel hotels should have a policy of removing people's towels after a specific period of time if they are not being used.
All that said, the staff at the Beach Club were all wonderful so it's difficult to single any one person out - they were all so friendly, welcoming and helpful and really contributed to making our stay memorable and so enjoyable. They were on hand to take us into town and pick us up whenever we wanted, which was very handy as all the buggys had been booked. We were glad we had not booked a buggy as the resort was very busy and it looked difficult to find parking spaces anyway.
The breakfasts were excellent. We ate in the restaurant twice for dinner and had a lovely meal each time, including a special dessert on our last evening for my husband's birthday, compliments of the hotel - another lovely, personal touch. The restaurant is by the pool and so makes a very relaxing place to eat looking out over the sea. The hotel is considerate in that no-one is allowed in the pool after 5.30pm so as not to splash the guests in the restaurant, which we appreciated.
All-in-all, we had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at the Beach Club (our thanks to all the staff who made it so!) and would definitely recommend it.

A so named 5 stars but way under the standard, more a better 3-4 star
The hotel minutes away from the airport, offers a shuttle service from and to the airport. Well located in front line to the ocean, with 57 rooms should be a gem, spacious, with views and balcony offers a peaceful stay, rooms and service is very good attentive and friendly. Reception was very helpful to book an attraction. But the venue turns out to be small for the quantity of clients, in fact the small restaurant prioritizes for Christmas day more priority to walking guest than to the in-house living guests, it turns out that it was very difficult to have a table for this dinner, beside that the menu offered was overcharged, too expensive for the place. In fact, by a good management and with the knowledge that all venues in the Island are fully booked for Christmas should have offered at the room reservation the possibility to reserve a table for the dinner. A night before we had a degustation 4 course menu for a price of 150$ each and the 25th menu was just a 3-course menu for over 800$, nothing overwhelming at all.

Lovely serene setup with excellent hardworking and smiling staff. We loved our upper floor room for the views and privacy, and also the Club's high quality dining we experienced during a very busy festive season.
There were letdowns which need to be addressed by management -- housekeeping each day didn't visit until 3.30 - 4pm, and then bizarrely on our last evening evening housekeeping turndown arrived for the first time which was a surprise and declined because it was only after about an hour after the first clean of the day. Our balcony was never swept throughout our stay so prons we could have addressed that.
Irking when we were paying thousands overall. The pool area is so dated in style but we appreciated the private beach zone each day.
Overall, mixed impressions but it is a lovely spot.

Writing this in the departure lounge of HI airport so it’s fresh. It’s a review of my Beach Club experience ONLY after a week during the Xmas period. It’s intended for those who are committed to staying there. Overall, I would avoid HI like the plague and wish we had gone to Fiji - see my other review of HI.
What went well:
Pick up / (5 min) transfer in a small capacity VW luxury minivan was smooth with checked baggage being retrieved and taken straight to the room. Similar in reverse on departure.
Our pick up guy took us through some details of the resort and pointed us to the Hamilton Island App - if you DO visit get this as soon as you book & book all u want to do then. See my HI review.
Complementary Piper Heidseck champagne & fruit plate on arrival + we were there for the Monday complementary drinks 4-6pm.
Breakfast was included & had a good choice for 7 days - it’s al la carte.
Quality SPF 50 suncream, water bottles with free refills provided throughout.
Catseye beach / sea view looks amazing & the hotel has an exclusive carve out of it with shade, quality help yourself towels and loungers.
The hotel will take you to anywhere on the island as a 1 way trip.
Little token Xmas presents of a candle & chocolate on Xmas day
What went not so well
Xmas dinner was AUD 315 each (!!) plus drinks - if I had known these type of prices apply throughout when I was convinced to book HI I would have chosen elsewhere
After the hotel cleaning team serviced the room an expensive water bottle top went missing - no admission of fault or offer of compensation. Maybe not a big deal but I was planning to continue using it in Oz, now can’t.
We found out in the last night from a local that turtles congregate c 2.5 hours before low tide in a certain spot. I spent some time snorkelling & if I had this piece of local info from the hotel it would have avoided wasted time - probably.
So some aspects of good and poor customer service.
NB - I raised some points of my experience with the hotel in a survey and the assistant manager left a note (we were out on a trip that day). I emailed back but as yet had no response

We stayed at the Beach Club for 4 nights as part of a three week holiday in Australia.
Our luggage was collected from the airport carousel and whisked away on our behalf to our room which is a really nice touch. We were met at the airport and transported to the hotel along with other guests.
Check in was very slick and we were offered a glass of bubbles upon arrival whilst everything was explained to us. We were also invited to a drinks reception that evening which we enjoyed.
Our room was on the ground floor( 106) and very spacious with a lovely outdoor patio area and a good selection of amenities. All the rooms are facing the beach with good views. When we opened the patio we were absolutely delighted to see wallabies directly outside on the garden and these were ever present throughout our stay along with cockatoos. The breakfast was really good (probably the best we had in Australia) and service at breakfast was excellent. You can also get breakfast served in your room at no extra cost. The hotel has a beautiful infinity pool and whilst there are not many sun loungers we never had a problem getting a seat. The hotel also has a large cordoned off area of the beach, with loungers and pool bar service.
Room servicing/cleaning could have been better. Dead flies between the shutters and outside door were not cleared for the duration of the stay. Neither was the wallaby poo on our patio. March flies were a problem across the whole island for the duration of our stay - not the fault of the hotel but they do give you a nasty bite.
As a resort Hamilton Island is probably not what we expected. It’s commercialised and we were surprised to see a high rise hotel and apartment block on the island. The music and noise from the communal pool was so loud that it could be heard at our pool on our last day. Restaurant Bommies was great but expensive and all seating was inside so not really making the most of the beautiful surroundings. The Beach Club restaurant was good and located near the pool area. You do need to book restaurants well in advance and there is a 24 hour cancellation policy which is strictly enforced/charged. Pub was not to our taste and basically a sports bar. We were disappointed that the sunset drinks at the Marina were not on during one night of our stay due to a private function so we missed out on that. A few nicer places to have drinks and cocktails in the evenings would have been good.

I dispute this but paid to get them to stop calling after two calls. They should have had this information at checkout and not one month later. I will never stay there again. Poor management and poor customer care after the fact. For $42 after spending $15,000 for two weeks accommodation I find this unacceptable.

A wonderful, albeit pretty expensive stay. Its a delightful location so close to the waves/sand with so much to do while on the Island. Sadly the wind was up all three days were were there so not a single watercraft was allowed to be used despite us having booked in all three of the days we were there. Room is delightful as was the breakfast and the staff. Disappointingly they wanted $50 for us to stay on in the room until 10:30 on our last day to adjoin our Ferry ride back which was pretty stingy, and they didn't seem to try too hard to find my sandals I left behind that I lost within the Resort in that last hour we were there and then not bothering to return my calls re them. All in all an amazing 3 days regardless.

From the minute we were met at the airport and transferred to the hotel and welcomed with a glass of bubbles, the staff were just so wonderful. We were very happy with our room on the beach and the Aesop toiletries were divine. Great location, just a short walk over the hill into town (but know that the Beach Club will drop you off and pick you up whenever and wherever you want to go somewhere). We genuinely felt looked after here. Cannot recommend higher.

Excellent service overall during our 6 day stay. A la carte Breakfast was always extremely quick and was delicious. Dinner at the restaurant was amazing. Free instant island transfers were quick and staff courteous - this was well worth the cost of upgrading our room from Reef View hotel and then needing to hire a buggy or use the shuttle bus (which only goes to some destinations once every hour). Housekeeping kept our room very clean every day and left a card for us to write down any requests. We didn’t have any of the issues mentioned in past reviews. Well worth the upgrade.

The biggest draw for us was the location and that it is adults only resort. This meant quiet and relaxing atmosphere for all guests . A rare child free find , ideal for singles , young couples , older couples , honeymooners and anyone who wants a bit of peace !
Everything was perfect from being 10m from the beach, using the heated infinity pool to the exceptional food quality especially breakfast.
However above all else , the staff really made the experience, from a glass of champagne on arrival , organising shuttle transfers around the island , food and beverage service , I have not seen anything like it in previous travels , this place is a cut above the rest and other establishments could learn a lot.
Extremely grateful and relaxed , will be staying here again , it’s a must !

Perfect!
From being met at the ferry to the time we were dropped off at the airport we were treated so well by every staff member, and they were all so friendly. It was lovely to hear them all getting along so well from all over the world.
A welcome drink on arrival and explanation of everything from the same person who met us at the ferry. Our bags were delivered to our room before we were.
We had room 219, upstairs and private with no one able to see in. Upstairs also has the best views. The bed looked out to the sea, waking up to the view was what dreams are made of.
Coffee machine and enough pods for our stay with fresh milk.
Lots of hanging space, even a bag to carry towels etc in when you go out.
A drink bottle each that are yours to keep was a nice touch.
The bathroom was spacious and had everything.
Th balcony was simple but comfy. Just watch out for the cockies as they like to sit on the railing and did try to steal hubby’s bathers that were drying.
The restaurant was magnificent for dinner! Olie was our waiter and he was awesome, so attentive and friendly it knew his stuff. The food was beautiful. Good selection of wines, and we had our wine decanted.
Breakfast was al a carte and had a good variety of, the eggs were cooked to perfection.
The pool was warm and large enough for the number of guests.
Cocktails were delicious!
It was lovely to be able to have a driver run you around and pick you up when requested.
It was lovely to not have any children around the place.
A perfect few days and we would definitely come back.
Our first island resort and anything else will be hard to beat.
Thank you to all the team that served us.
