The only thing decent about this hotel was the location. The fire alarm went off two nights in a row for no reason, I’m assuming a fault on the hotels end. The first night it went off twice in a row. We went outside and there was no communication on the hotels end for muster points or safety protocols. There was also no communication whatsoever for when it was clear to come back inside. They went off at the most inconvenient times in the evening. If there was a really emergency I doubt there would have been any clear and safe procedure which is alarming for a hotel at this level. On top of that, the AC did not work at all. The room was musty and stagnant with hot air just blowing in. To top it all off, The front desk staff scoffed and laughed when we voiced that we were upset over this whole situation. To voice a concern then to be scoffed at? Insane customer service behavior. For the amount of money we paid for our stay, this was an experience of a Motel 6. I wish we would have been treated with more decency than what we encountered when we checked out.

Customer service has gone by the wayside

We had the unfortunate timing of being here when you had a technical glitch at 9pm with your fire alarms, not one night, but two nights in a row. We only knew it was a technical glitch after asking about it at the front desk upon check out.
Some feedback I’d like to offer:
There was ZERO communication from your staff on either night. No one was around to guide us on what to do, where to go or that there was an “all clear”. It’s 9pm at night, people are standing out in the cold, trying to figure out what to do. Not one employee was outside with us. On the contrary your kitchen staff was still inside and your front desk was on the phone.
The response from your staff when we asked about it “ well we are short staffed at night, and we had phones to answer. The second night, we knew it was a glitch.” Very unfortunate this was the response we got. Your staff might have known it was a technical glitch, but not the guest and families trying to make it out the building at 9pm, trying to decide what to do, is it safe to go back in?
If you can send me an email thanking me for my stay, and then another asking to fill out a survey, you can also send an email acknowledging the inconvenience, apologizing, explaining what happened etc.
Zero communication and acknowledgment from your staff will have me looking at other hotels for my next visit. We stayed here in August, and came back again as we loved it last time. It’s unfortunate that basic customer service in what was initially felt to us as an emergency fell by the way side and the opportunity to make it up, also fell extremely short.

Enjoyed our weekend getaway in Boston. The spacious rooms and easy access to nearby attractions such as the New England Aquarium and North End were the highlights. I was happy to be greeted by friendly staff, will definitely be back!!!!!!!

The shower-head was messed up. Despite confirmation the day ahead of time, they were unable to park our vehicle (a crew cab truck). Overall disappointing experience.

The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful. The hotel room was very clean in the bed was comfortable, providing a great nights sleep. The location was excellent, within walking distance of Little Italy, and many other attractions. We will definitely look to stay here again next time!
Awed upon walking in - essential oil in the air, the cleanliness, and even the staff. The room is spacious and down right gorgeous in walnut stain finishes, keeping the aesthetic classy and elegant. Hands down best service in hospitality - complete Thank You to Johnathan!

We have stayed at this hotel at least 25 times over the years. The front desk has always been helpful barring something being out of their control. Bhakti especially has always been very friendly and helpful. Their rooms over the years have been both stellar and non plus. Even after having a bad stay we have come back because we know some of the staff and always feel welcomed. Today we happened to get upgraded which was fantastic. We have a water view and all the extra room of a suite. I’ve read some of the reviews as of late and am rather surprised by others’ experiences. So don’t shy away from this place based on a few misses. It may pleasantly surprise you.

Debated between 4-5 stars, it is very good, maybe not excellent, but “good” (4 stars)… it’s better than that. Getting here: several ways, but we are very familiar with Boston so upon landing at Logan we took the free bus (very short ride) to the BLUE LINE (for “the T” which is Boston’s train system). Cheap $2 or so ticket (go on “Inbound” train!) and 2 stops later get off at Aquarium stop. From there we just walked with our suitcase the easy 10 min walk. This was the closest line and stop. Again we know the area, but if you have a map it is easy, just follow the waterfront going north.
Staff all very friendly! They actually have conversations with us unlike some other places. Bar and restaurant in lobby but we only popped in for one drink prior to dinner in the north end. North End is FULL of Italian restaurants and you are a 2 minute walk to Hanover St which is where they all are. Very easy and safe walk. Paul Revere house is also in that area.
Easy 5 min walk back to Aquarium, Quincy Market, Faneuil Hall area for shopping and lunch. We were really in town for a Celtics game and that is an easy 15 min walk as well.
I usually take pictures but not this time. We are glad we chose Battery Wharf for the above reasons. Room clean and had a fridge.

We always stay at this hotel for the location to the North End and for the class of the place. You are literally walking one to two blocks away from the restaurants in the North End and the reason we visit. The staff are great. You are right on the harbor so there can be some noise but there was none when we were there. You can walk to Bunker Hill and Constitution center is you want. It is a brisk walk but very nice. The Constitution is undergoing a restoration. My guess they are getting ready for the 250th. You can still go on but much of the rigging is being repaired. Check the website. You can also walk down to Quincy Market if you want. Red Sox game needs a uber unless you want the subway. Great hotel to stay at and we are repeat customers.

There is a lot to unpack here, so I'm going to start at the very beginning with booking, should you still decide to stay here after reading my review. It's confusing. I booked directly with the hotel. Preferred Hotel's site is confusing - choose your dates, see all of the rooms and prices, add it to the cart, and when you try to check out, that room might not be available. Create a account FIRST, then you can actually see and book a room that is available. I'm a nerd and I found this booking process a little clumsy and backwards.
So the location is nice, along the water and close enough to the aquarium and all of the great North End restaurants. They had benches outside so we sat and watched the boats go by. We had dinner in the restaurant on our first night and it was very good and reasonable, waiter was attentive, and we enjoyed it.
Rooms. Recently renovated? I don't think so. Maybe there is an ongoing plan for updating rooms. I don't think our room was updated, but it was in good condition with a comfortable bed and no issues with paint or wallpaper. I don't care what the bathroom tile looks like as long as the bathroom is functional. Not all rooms have refrigerators! I would assume that only standard rooms do not, but I don't know for sure. Read all of the room details. It's 2025, come on - that's a basic amenity nowadays. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a suite, which I thought was nice and was pleased that it had a refrigerator.
Now I'm going to pile on to other reviewers about the air conditioning not working in the rooms. This had apparently been going on for a few weeks, I read. It was blasting cold in the hallway and not working in the room. Fortunately our room was near the hallway AC vent so we could prop our door open and get the AC to blow into our room. By this time our room was 75 degrees. I went to the front desk around 3 pm and discussed the AC with the clerk. I got lip service that a technician would visit in 10 to 15 minutes and possibly we could move rooms if the issue couldn't be resolved (my fault for believing and not going to the desk again after 30 minutes). 90 minutes later, my husband went to the desk to complain, only to meet other guests who were having the same problem. This time we were going to change rooms (we didn't). The manager came to visit, said technicians were on site (they weren't) and had 1 of 2 problems fixed but the system would take 24 hours to cool the rooms, and offered to help us find other accommodations. But now it's 5:30, we'd have to pack, get the car, repark, etc. We stuck it out instead and slept a miserable night. We did have a fan, but it was a loud industrial fan. At least we could cool the room a little. Only when we were leaving did we see an HVAC company on site. Every guest we talked to had complained about the lack of AC, and even some employees said they heard about it. Completely unacceptable. I'll just say we came to an agreement, but I also relayed this story to the hotel company.
