We stayed for a week here using it as a base for skiing at Sunshine and Lake Louise. Our room was huge and so spacious and just what we needed, there was space to store our skis and poles and we kept our boots in the room. It was close to a shuttle bus stop and the Main Street for dinners. The hotel for us was unfortunately let down by breakfast never being particularly hot (even if we got there for opening) and the two hot tubs being dominated by large groups drinking (despite alcohol being prohibited in the hot tubs according to the rules, this was not enforced).

How do I describe this room? Miniscule, tiny, petite /dainty, half the size of my bedroom at home? A bathroom so small that I could barely move around in? Where is the chair you ask? Where do I sit my stuff? only 2 plug ins? … And beware ….one also...

Where do I sit my stuff? only 2 plug ins? … And beware ….one also needs to turn on the lights before entering or you may fall into the abyss? All that for close to $300 …smallest room we have ever stayed at….. haven’t been to the complimentary breakfast yet just hope it saves the day…

This was our 4th time staying in Banff and for 11 nights we stayed in the Banff Aspen lodge. We honestly cannot fault the hotel . Location Perfect, literally in town so walking distance to everything Staff Great service by all, warm welcoming and friendly at all times. Rooms Small and with 'very' little storage. Probably fine if you're there for a day or two, but when you're there for 11 nights from the UK with an abundance of snowboard gear.... it was beyond inadequate. We had ONE drawer each! There is no wardrobe at all and 4 useless coat hooks which everything slides off of onto the floor. Honestly it was tough living in basically a mess and out of a suitcase. We normally like to unpack and get organised and enjoy a tidy room. Everything hanging in a wardrobe etc but this was a major downfall and lost a point in scoring. Beds however.... WOW..... worth staying just for the sheer comfort and amazing nights sleep! They were the comfiest hotel beds and pillows I have ever stayed on. BLISS! Cleanliness Cannot fault at all!!! Facilities Hot tubs, steam room and sauna all fine. Not huge but if you head at quiet times they're enjoyable enough Coffee shop was not great. Nothing at all that we would have chosen but the one on the next block is outstanding. Ski lockers are not exactly lockers, just spaces with a metal chain and padlock. Didn't love, but nothing went missing so worked fine I suppose! Laundry facilities good Breakfast was great. Friendly staff, good food and quiet at 6.30am when opens.... not so much after 7am onwards when you could end up waiting on a table All in all, its a nice looking basic clean and comfortable hotel/ room. Best suited to shorter stays due to lack of storage in rooms but we would stay again if it came to it. Only topped by the Rundlestone so far but better than Canalta and Buffalo mountain lodge

What a lovely hotel. It’s small but the ambiance is so welcoming and comfortable. Great location. Our room was very clean and had the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept in. The fully stocked tea and coffee cabinet was so nice. Loved the hot tubs and sauna. Morning breakfast was delicious and the staff was so kind and helpful. Definitely recommend - and I’m fussy! Will stay again if I’m ever in the area.

Great little hotel with all the amenities you need including sauna, steam room and two sizes of hot tub. Breakfast was fine just was missing baked beans. Staff are friendly, helpful and hard working. The hot chocolate in the cafe is stunning! Would recommend the whole thing

The accommodation is a true gem of a find as you are always a little anxious when booking on line as it is not all as it seems. The Aspen Lodge is exactly as promised and more. Anyone who visits Banff should stay here. We will be back and recommending to all.

The room was kept really clean by housekeeping and all the staff were extremely friendly. Breakfast was a real bonus and of excellent quality with lovely, helpful staff. The hot tubs were amazing but got busier later on in the day, so worth planning in an earlier session. The bathrobes were appreciated. Loved the laid back relax feel of the hotel.

This place is a real gem: reasonable prices for Banff and lots of amenities. Clean, provisioned, comfortable rooms. The beds were VERY comfortable and linens crisp. The toiletries were wonderful. The hot tubs and 2 sauna options were great after long days on the slopes. They can get crowded at peak times, but such is life. The included breakfast is generous and quite tasty: an ample buffet of oatmeal, multiple toast options, fresh fruit, cheese, meats, scrambled eggs and breakfast meats, with juice/coffee served to you. Plus the in-lobby White Birch has awesome espresso options if you prefer to hit a coffee shop for pre-breakfast barista servide (not included, with room obvi). And you're super close to a great mountain (free) shuttle pick up spot! Tip: ask for a robe at the front desk!
