We loved the hotel. We were upgraded on arrival to a mini suite. However we missed out on a bath tub !!. The internet was poor which was disappointing. However the staff made up for all of this, especially the Concierge. Breakfast was excellent. Loved the cocktail bar ! This is the second time we have stayed at the Baglioni and we would stay again. See you sometime soon.

Staff were impeccable- it is common in a hotel of this price point and star rating to have professional and efficient service. What is not common is the level of obvious care for customer service and engagement in providing a genuinely wonderful guest experience that you see at the baglioni. Every single member of staff we encountered were friendly, warm and welcoming, and displayed an obvious interest in making our holiday enjoyable. The hotel itself is in a perfect location, it is grand without being dated and a truly elegant Venetian experience, I’m sure there are other hotels in Venice equally beautiful, but what sets this hotel apart is how good its staff are- they are phenomenal.

A year ago I decided I wanted to be in Venice for my 60th birthday as it is one of our favourite places to visit. I also decided that I wanted to stay in a luxury hotel and found the Baglioni Hotel Luna and splashed out on the fabulous Giogione Suite, not cheap but you only turn 60 once! On arrival we were welcomed by the wonderful Concierge team and the friendly and charming Giacomo on reception, who took us up to the suite. The Giorgione is split over two floors with the bedroom, two bathrooms, dressing room and terrace upstairs and a beautiful living room downstairs. It is tastefully furnished and beautifully clean. There was also a welcome tray with a large fruit bowl, a plate of Venetian biscuits, a bottle of Prosecco and a bottle of red wine with a lovely note welcoming us and thanking me for choosing the hotel for my 60th birthday. A delightful touch which was repeated on my birthday with another bottle of Prosecco! Staying at the hotel was an absolute joy and, as always, that experience was created by the terrific staff. From the efficient and polite housekeeping team to the Bistrot and breakfast staff everyone we encountered were truly five star. Special mentions go to Monica at the bar and the aformentioned Giacomo on reception. It was such a fabulous stay that after we got home I immediately booked again for next year. Time to get saving!

The Hotel, compared to its peers in Italy, is impressive. Cleanliness level was exceptional, decor all over the place was placed with careful and elegant taste. Bathroom was impressive and toiletries were from Acqua De Parma. Most of the staff were super welcoming and kind. Any requests that we made through the phone was responded to by care. Even the biscuits and chocolates in the mini bar were selected with a fine taste. This Hotel is really a catch compared to the standards in Italy and Europe overall.

We arrived late at night to Venezia and made it to the hotel thanks to the overnight fd agent and the bellman (Loris) who were amazing. Loris is a superstar! Our room was the worst, noisy, small, with view to the bushes next to the gondola rental, far from the category in our reservation. We spoke w the fd in the morning but decided the best choice was to pay to be upgraded to the suite used to advertise the hotel, which has a terrace with a spectacular view. Our first experience was not pleasant, we felt very disappointed but decided to give the hotel a chance. Our upgrade compensated for our first night/ day at the Baglioni Luna as moving forward service was outstanding, our housekeeper excellent, the breakfast team (specially the couple in charge of the service) were spectacular, but the best most helpful, gracious, friendly staff were the concierge. They organized our trip to Milano, to Murano and to Burano flawlessly. Room service was amazing always, the food at the gourmet restaurant was spectacular, tasty, perfect temperature and portions, simply delicious! Our server at the gourmet restaurant was not the best choice for that night, but overall we enjoyed our meal, and watching the Chef and his team preparing everything was delightful. The point of our trip was to celebrate my bday, I mentioned it at our arrival but sadly this was an opportunity missed with us as guests, and there was no special amenity sent to our room, seemed like no one remember despite of sending it in our pre-arrival note. We love Venezia every time, Burano was lovely and their people gentle and genuine. Despite of the missed opportunities we had a great experience overall. The concierge team, was definitely the reason we remained at the Baglioni Luna. They were the best part of our stay. We will return.

The entire hotel is a masterpiece, and the breakfast room took our breath away with its exquisite frescoed ceilings and grandeur. Breakfast itself was delightful, with a variety of delicious options served in such a magnificent setting. The service was exceptional throughout our stay—attentive, warm, and professional. Even with the rainy weather, the hotel provided such a cozy and luxurious retreat that we didn’t mind the rain at all. We can't recommend the Baglioni Hotel Luna enough—it’s a true gem in Venice, and we can't wait to return!

I cannot say enough about our stay in this wonderful Venetian hotel. Everything about our stay was a pleasure and a joy, from the staff at our check-in to the entire crew who works for them in any area of this hotel. We were always made to feel welcome and that they were happy to have us with them. I only wish we could have stayed longer. I would not hesitate to stay in this superior hotel again. I also want to add that our hotel room was always cleaned and cleaned well, something that I find not to be so in many of the other hotels in which we have stayed.

We have stayed 4 nights at the Luna Baglioni. Everything was perfect : the quality of service, the cleanness of the room, the view from our balcony, the location of the hotel at 5mn on foot to San Marco, … we had the surprise to find in our room a nice bottle of Prosecco, cakes, and fruits at our arrival for our 25th anniversary, the second time for my wife’s birthday. Just amazing !

The hotel is beautiful, and the staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. The location is also amazing—very convenient for walking to interesting places or taking the vaporetto. We look forward to staying here again on our next visit to Venice. Highly recommend!

The hotel has over a 1000 year history and was once even occupied by the Templar Kights Now it is a grand hotel with a friendly and efficient staff that will make you feel at home. Nothing is inexpensive, but I feel you get what you pay for If yiou want to give yourself a treat in Venice, this is the place.

My husband and I only had a couple of days to spend in Venice, so we wanted to stay close to St. Mark's Square. The Baglioni Hotel Luna is a gem just a few steps from St. Mark's Square. The hotel is 900 years old, but you would never know it. It is luxurious. It is a combination of artistic decor, Murano glass, and modern conveniences with everything in working order. We booked a Deluxe King room. Our room (#106) and the bathroom were spacious. The bathroom was very modern, and I liked the extra touch of the heated towel warmer. The breakfast room is beautiful and the buffet has everything you could want. Before we arrived I emailed their Concierge desk and received a reply within minutes. We were very impressed with the entire staff at the hotel - very friendly, efficient and made you feel welcome. Transportation from VCE airport: The Alilaguna water transport is very inexpensive. It is about a 55 minute ride from VCE airport. If you take the Alilaguna to the hotel, buy a ticket for the Blue/Red line. You exit at the San Marco Giardinetti stop. It is a very short walk (maybe 5 minutes or less) to the hotel. You do have to carry your bags over one arched bridge. You can buy an open ended roundtrip ticket for a discount. I would guess if you contact the hotel, they may send a porter to help you if you have a lot of luggage. My husband and I travel light so this was not a problem for us and we are in our 70s. There is a photo on the hotel website of a rooftop deck. Well....I thought this was a place to have a nice relaxing drink and views of the Grand Canal. NO - it is the private deck for anyone who books the 5th floor terrace room. But that does not take away from the wonderful stay we had at the Luna. Thank you to the staff at the Luna. We really enjoyed our stay.

We have visited Venice numerous times over the years and usually stay at another 5 Star hotel on the Grand Canal, but that hotel was unavailable for our dates. The Baglioni is in a very convenient location and the staff was nice enough and professional, however I'm afraid we will probably not stay there again. It's hard to believe that it is still considered a 5 Star hotel and is listed as one of American Express' Fine Hotels and Resorts. The furniture and bathroom in our room have seen better days. In addition, the room had a musty/moldy smell, that made our stay less than enjoyable. The smell was slight when we first arrived and we just chalked it up to the smells of the Venice canals. But the first night it became overwhelming, to the point that we considered moving to a different hotel. The first morning we woke up to a construction crew working on an adjacent room. Of course, hotels need to be maintained and work must be done, but in the least we should have been warned. And to add insult to injury, the fire alarm went off 3 or 4 times that morning and it was apparently set-off by the same construction crew.

It is also located where you can go on a gondola ride or take a taxi to go to Murano or to the airport. Highly recommend.

A perfect stay! Everything starting from arrival till departure was top class. Beautiful and clean hotel, great food and drinks and perfect service! Thank you very much for making the 4 days amazing. My wife and I had a great time and we can’t wait to come back.

THIS IS AN UPDATE NOW THAT WE'VE FINISHED OUR TRIP. For context, this was our first international trip in over a year, and this was the first hotel we stayed in on the trip. I gave it a 2 star review while staying there. Having stayed at two additional places on the same trip, including a different hotel a few dozen yards away, I have a MUCH better ability to compare and contrast. My original review is here, along with some additional thoughts at the end. I really wanted to love this hotel, but what an utter disappointment. We're staying here now. I'll start with the Pros (oops the one Pro) Positives: 1. LOCATION - The location is very convenient to the main tourist sites, literally a few yards from St. Mark's Square (though some may actually find it too close, given the steady and heavy flow of tourists near the hotel). ADDITIONAL THOUGHT - The St. Regis is a few dozen yards away, so the location is easily as good and the hotel is light years better than this one! Negatives: 1. AWFUL VIEWS - We booked the room based on reviews through Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts, booking a Superior Room for about $1,000 per night. While the size of the room is acceptable for a European hotel, the view out the single window in the room is horrible, the worst I've had in thousands of stays over the last 30 years of travel. The only thing that comes close was a Newport Beach Marriott stay where I looked out at dumpsters and a parking lot, but I digress. This view looks out on a part of the roof of an interior part of the hotel. We are on the third floor. We are looking out at square of bright green astro turf that is coming up from the roof and covers about 500 square feet. It also has the bonus of oil stains on it. Upon checking out, I walked around the floor. Ours was the only room facing the green astro turf, though there appears to be other terrible rooms immediately above ours with the same, awful view. Picture of the "view" is attached. 2. THE FRONT DESK LIED TO US - I spoke with the front desk about the room and the fact that Amex FHR stays do come with an upgrade if available. I was told no other rooms were available. Which is factually incorrect - multiple rooms were available for the duration of our stay (i went on their website to see if I could book 2 rooms for the same nights). 3. DID I MENTION THE AWFUL VIEW? - When the blinds and sheer is open, there is a green tinged hue that comes in from sunlight reflecting off the fake turf, so when in the room, we just close everything and have no natural light. Neutral, New additions to my review: 1. BREAKFAST - I'd originally considered it a positive. Now, not really. The breakfast was inferior to Villa Tutorotto's in Rovinj and The St. Regis a few dozen yards away. More importantly, breakfast is served in a windowless ball room, while in Rovinj I sat on a balcony overlooking the ocean while having breakfast and at the St. Regis I sat less then a yard away from the Grand Canal, looking at the rising sun over the Basilica across the canal. 2. CANOVA BY SANDLER - You don't need to stay in this hotel to eat here. Not giving the hotel a higher rating because of this, but don't want to denigrate the wonderful restaurant. Eat here, don't stay here! We both did the tasting menu here and it was spectacular. The food merits a star, in my opinion. The only VERY minor issue was with service (had to ask multiple times for water bottles, for example) but it. was nothing other than the difference between 1/2/3 stars. The food is the star and it was great. My suggestion is to book the St. Regis or the Gritti (which we loved last time and will likely choose next time), the Aman, the Belmond, the Palazzo Cristo, etc. Avoid the risk of a depressing room and dishonest staff and stay somewhere else for $1,000 per night. We just stayed at the St. Regis as well and that was the experience that we had hoped for!
