Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel

Wishing to explore the riverside area of the city we moved to The Avani+ Riverside. Our Grab driver dropped us off at the wrong entrance; the hotel is part of a shopping mall and has a separate entrance on the other side, shared with the sister hotel, The Anantara Riverside....

Wishing to explore the riverside area of the city we moved to The Avani+ Riverside. Our Grab driver dropped us off at the wrong entrance; the hotel is part of a shopping mall and has a separate entrance on the other side, shared with the sister hotel, The Anantara Riverside. It is much easier to navigate this way. Taking the elevator up to reception you can’t fail to be impressed with the vistas when the lift doors open. The warm wood, airy public areas and changing artworks add to a luxurious feel. When we went to check-in it took a while for anyone on reception to acknowledge us; staff seemed to bury their heads in paper work etc. Luckily Pare (excuse my spelling) finished dealing with other guests and immediately greeted us with a warm smile and friendly manner. As Titanium Member we were upgraded to a truly spectacular Panoramic Corner Suite. Pare took great care to explain all the benefits, where things where etc. and even walked us to the lift. She was a delightful welcome. Arriving at our suite, at the end of an art filled corridor, it really was a WOW moment when we walked in. As plush and welcoming the room was, the views from the wall of windows were simply stunning! So many of Bangkok’s landmarks, from Asiatique to Chao Praya river are perfectly framed. We could also lie in bed and watch the Swallows swoop and dive out the window! Aside from the Welcome lollies, an array of Balloons, including an adorable Unicorn were there to greet us; I never got chance to eat any of the goodies! The room had everything you could wish for a perfect stay. The bed was huge and comfy, with separate dressing and walk-in wardrobes giving so much space, a lobby with drinks and mini-bar, but for me the bath was the real showstopper. The view from the tub was priceless! The breakfast here was fantastic with so many choices; Yes I did have Coconut Ice Cream for brekkie! The staff were also lovely; on our second morning one of them approached me and asked if I would like to move to a quieter, corner table, away from the main area. He kept it for me the next day. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooftop pool is regarded as one of the most Instagrammable in the city and it is indeed fabulous, if a little chilly. We also drank at the roof top bar. I would say stylish but full of people posing! It is the view you are paying for. The discount I should have enjoyed was never honoured but didn’t detract from our Negronis & Cocktails. If you are entitled to discounts I would check with your server. We made use of the hotel shuttle from the pier at Anantara and it was a delightful way to get to Icon Siam and Asiatique. We timed it perfectly to watch the fireworks from our junk. This was one of those stays that you don’t want to end and we cannot wait to return. We’ve been to Bangkok several times and decided to use the Avani to experience a stay on the other side of the river. It also happens to be very good value if you don’t want to go the whole full five star hog. The rooms are a decent size with a very large double bed, and with a spectacular view of the Chao Phraya River, facing east. The buffet breakfast offered plenty of choice, but as one might expect it’s very busy at peak times. The views from the roof top pool and bar are absolutely spectacular, especially at night. The rooftop restaurant serves really good sushi, amongst many other choices. The Avani stay was a curtain raiser to an extended trip in Thailand where we were looking for a comfortable stay without breaking the bank; it definitely delivered on that.

Having the complimentary shuttle was definitely an added bonus stopping at a few piers and especially loved the transport to Iconsiam mall We did not have an issue getting around from any of the pier stops . The hotel itself is beautifully appointed , rooms are beautiful and very comfortable The staff at this hotel is simply amazing From reception to concierge to dining pool and bar as well as cleaning staff We really enjoyed the rooftop bar for a cocktail , spectacular service and amazing views We were very impressed with the breakfast , with such an amazing selection of foods from all over the world The Buffett at Oceans Eleven was well worth the price we thought with a great selection of seafood in particular. The hotel prepared a breakfast box as we had a very early flight If we return to Bangkok we will definitely be staying at Avani + Thank you to all of the wonderful staff. You are such an asset to the company

If you are looking for a great hotel away from the centre of Bangkok, this has got to be the one for you. The facilities are amazing, great choice of dining options throughout the complex, and the Long Bar is a great place to relax after a day sightseeing. All members of the team give exceptional service, particularly the concierge guys, with their local knowledge and recommendations. The great free shuttle boat service takes you into a point where you can catch the Hop on Hop off ferry as well as the MRT station. We stayed on a Bed and Breakfast basis, and the quality and choice of food at breakfast was excellent. One thing not to be missed is the Friday and Saturday night show at the “Lost and Found” bar. It was a really enjoyable evening, although sadly so few people were there. We visited twice during our stay and both evenings were great fun, with extremely talented performers. One tip, do not arrive before 9pm as the show does not start to just after 9pm. The infinity pool on the 25th floor, was great and never crowded, I managed to get a sun lounger every time I visited. The restaurant on the same floor offered quality food, with great service. We did visit the “Sin” bar one floor up, but felt that at 66yrs old we were a little old, but looked great fun. Thank you for a truly memorable stay, and we would not hesitate to recommend you to others.

Really beautiful, modern hotel with amazing river views. Stayed for 3 nights at the start of our honeymoon to Thailand. Room was excellent, and even had a little surprise waiting. Breakfast every morning was delicious with a huge variety of options. The shuttle boat up to the main pier and ICONSIAM was so useful and a much nicer way to get into the city than taxis. Easy enough to plan your day around the timetable. Staff were all super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The rooftop pool was a really lovely cherry on the cake!

The great experience when you have your own riverview and swimming pool on rooftop. Especially we want to mark great work of Pare - she is amazing, gave us all necessary information and was very helpful. Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏 Really the best experience in this location! Highly recommend!

We particularly enjoyed Sin, the rooftop cocktail bar, great atmosphere and fabulous cocktails. We also use the pool, which was again lovely after a long day exploring Bangkok....

We particularly enjoyed Sin, the rooftop cocktail bar, great atmosphere and fabulous cocktails. We also use the pool, which was again lovely after a long day exploring Bangkok. We loved the free shuttle boat that ran every half an hour and took you to a central pier, very handy for the MRT and access to the city.

We were checked in by Alice who sorted our room out early. She was fabulous and friendly. The room view was incredible and decorated for our anniversary. Also a lovely surprise cake. Th pool was amazing and the whole hotel is so clean and every member of staff so helpful....

Spent 3 nights at the Avani Riverside Bangkok at the start of our trip to Thailand. We were lucky to get an upgrade to a junior suite . The views were stunning across the city. The room was really spacious and well equipped with a gorgeous bathroom which included a freestanding bath giving views over the river. The breakfast was really good catering to every diet and palette and some good cook to order options. The rooftop pool was a tad chilly but a quiet and enjoyable escape. We also enjoyed a cocktail at the rooftop bar which although delicious and a great experience was relatively expensive paying a premium for location. The hotel location was ideal to explore with a free boat service available from the sister hotel next door to the city. Would definitely recommend as a base to explore this vibrant, busy city.
