Booked a weekend (three nights) trip for my husband's birthday in October and did a lot of research about where to stay. Athina Suites is a very special place. It started with a luxury pick-up at the airport and a complimentary massage while we waited for our room to be ready as we were quite early arriving from Dublin. Our suite (25) was beautiful, we had a gorgeous terrace and large private hot-tub/pool. It's a great terrace as it's very private, not overlooked and you had a stunning view of the caldera. It was so relaxing to wake up in the morning to that view and enjoy a fabulous breakfast delivered to us. The front desk staff are all friendly and professional (give Kaylee a raise!) and the whatsapp service is very handy for queries and bookings. We had a really enjoyable meal at Esperisma on the Friday evening, booked a semi-private cruise via the hotel on the Saturday, did complimentary yoga and hung out at the amazing pool drinking cocktails on the Sunday. Barmen were also fabulous and really knowledgeable. (Try the grapefruit spritz on a sunny day). I didn't find the steps a problem, you're so close to the centre of Fira, I enjoyed the walk to browse the shops. Santorini is expensive (the wine particularly is very expensive everywhere!) and this is a luxury stay but worth every cent for a completely relaxing experience.

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Hotel Athina! The hotel is just a 3-5mins walk down the steps from the main market with all the shops and restaurants, and yet the rooms feel so peacefully quiet with a gorgeous view. I was pleasantly surprised with how well-organised, guest friendly, professional and exceptional their service was from booking to check out. The hotel app is great and the staff were so helpful and communicative via WhatsApp too. Their guest survey-form before check-in makes the experience personalised and thoughtful.
We were very grateful that upon check in and check out, the staff helped us with all our luggage which was so helpful because of all the steps in Fira. The front desk staff gave us really nice travel tips and suggestions too. It's so nice to see how welcoming and friendly the staff is, and always smiling and positive. The view from our room was breathtaking and the bedroom was very comfortable. Their swimming pool has heated water, which is a nice bonus in this weather because it is cold and windy.
The food in the restaurant and the in-room breakfast is exceptional!!! The Chicken Ballotine is a must try!!! Thank you so much to the entire team for making our anniversary so special with the complimentary wine and card!

Located on the caldera’s cliff, next to restaurants, shopping, and everything the island has to offer. Even though the place is in the center of the town, there is enough separation from the pedestrian walkways to enjoy quiet serenity of this magical place. There is no need to find a place to watch a sunset, you can enjoy it from your own, private patio, or the swimming pool, the hotel’s incredible restaurant, or even the bar.
It’s true, the sunset is unique and idyllic. You can stare at the sun traveling down to disappear behind the sea, all within 3 minutes.
The staff at the hotel seriously impressed me. They would offer coffee, tea, a glass of champagne every time I passed by the lobby, and never asked me to pay for it. And the lobby is right next to the bar. 😉
All of their suites are unique in shape, furnishings, and size. We tried four of them and it’s really difficult to recommend one over another. They are all great.
One of the features we really enjoyed with my wife was the daily breakfast on our private patio. Brought at a time we selected the prior night, crafted just for us. It’s so quiet in the morning - we could just sit, eat, drink great coffee, and enjoy the moment.

What an amazing stay at the Athina Suites. It was our last stop on our trip to Santorini and it didn’t disappoint. The reception team were incredible from sorting transfers to even arranging for a left item at another hotel to be brought across the hotel for me. We also were able check out a little later on our last day which was such a bonus. We stayed in the rock room and it was incredible so much so we didn’t want to leave. The shared pool area was also fantastic with its infinity pool and comfy loungers. Breakfast on the patio was a huge treat. There’s such a wide choice of options. The feta eggs are a must. There were a few areas of the room and our private pool that needed attention but it’s the end of season so we put this down to wear and tear. There were a couple of things we would have expected but didn’t spoil our stay. There is no waiter service at the pool bar which was surprising with the quality of hotel. We saw staff on their phone and thought they could have been a bit more proactive instead. Also there is no courtesy room which was an issue for us as we were leaving late evening. We could use the outside pool shower (which was not ideal) and change in the pool toilet which was very small and unhygienic. When trying to sort ourselves out with getting things from our cases we were obstructing the access of guests using the reception which left us feeling self conscious. I would recommend investing in better facilities for next year. I can honestly say this didn’t cloud our stay at all and we would love to go back.

We were picked up from the airport on time & then helped with our bags down the stairs to their picturesque caldera location. The breakfast was delicious & served on our balcony daily. The room was beautiful and the pool was great with a swim-up bar. The front desk staff was so helpful with getting restaurant reservations lined up for us, arranging our honeymoon dinner on the night of the Santorini Volcano Festival, booking a catamaran tour and arranging all our transports. If we go back to Santorini we will definitely be staying again. Athina Luxury Suites was worth every penny!

Wonderful experience!! Staff and service were great. Pool had great views. Onsite restaurant had amazing food. Absolutely as advertised online. If you are looking in Fira, this should be at the top of the list.
