Good but

Travel Date: March 31, 2025

The Art Deco Masonic hotel is in a great location and has plenty of historic character. Rooms (superior) are on the small side however the bed is very comfortable. The hotel only has a breakfast service at weekends and has paid for parking within easy walking distance. If you want...

Great spot in Napier

Travel Date: January 31, 2025

This is a beautiful building, and the staff were very pleasant. The rooms are quite small, but that is to do with the age of the building. Good laundry room. The hotel seems to have franchised out the restaurant and bar, which was a bit of a shame, but none...

Disappointing

Travel Date: February 28, 2025

We stayed 2 nights in room 109. I’ve travelled a fair bit and am fully aware that older hotels tend to have small rooms…the superior king room is tiny. (We saw rooms that were being cleaned and they were even smaller.) Felt it was poor value for what you pay....

Convenient location

Travel Date: January 31, 2025

A great location close to all the shops, but the room was small. Much smaller than the other rooms that we saw. There was no on-site parking but parking was available on their lot, one block away. As much as I was disappointed by the hotel, I was in raptures...

Staff friendly and helpful. Small room.

Travel Date: November 30, 2024

The room and bathroom was small and we had the king sized room! No real facilities within room unlike other New Zealand hotels. However, the staff are really helpful and friendly and would rate "good" instead of average as a result. (No option of good.) Laundry facilities good and staff...

Excellent place to visit

The tour that Cindy took is on was very informative even in the bad weather, highly recommend. The items that were on display and for sale were very extremely unique and beautiful, well worth the look. Was also great with people with disabilities.

OK, but nothing super special

Travel Date: November 30, 2024

We were expecting to be wow'd by this historic hotel, but it didn't quite do it for us. We stayed in room 108 which was fine. The downstairs area lacked 'warmth' and whilst aspects of the hotel looked in keeping with its Art Deco heritage, it didn't knock our socks...

Overpriced.

Travel Date: December 31, 2024

A lovely destination with so much potential. Our stay was soured by a few things. The receptionist struggled to check in 2 couples arriving at the same time. Car parking is a charge despite being a 5 minute walk away from the hotel and in an open air public car...

Beautiful historic hotel in the heart of Napier

Travel Date: November 30, 2024

This lovely, historic hotel is in the heart of Napier. It is beautifully decorated & maintained. Our room, despite facing the road, was comfortable and quiet. There is a large, communal veranda overlooking the sea for a tranquil place to relax and enjoy the scenery. The hotel is centrally located...

Absolute gem of a hotel

This is an absolute gem of a hotel. It's like walking back in time. And it is perfectly located in the center of town, right off the ocean. There is even an upstairs patio overlooking Marine Parade and the water where guests can sit out and enjoy the view. The...

The place to stay in Napier.

Travel Date: September 30, 2024

This is the perfect place to stay to complete your Art Deco experience in Napier. The hotel has been thoughtfully updated to 21st century standards without losing any of its period charm. We stayed in a Queen Room which was compact but had everything we needed for a comfortable stay....

Definitely worth staying at the deco Masonic Hotel.

Travel Date: June 30, 2024

For our wedding anniversary, we spent 3 nights, in the Pacific View suite. The suite was perfect with a lounge suite, dining room and kitchen. We loved the little study nooke and the fabulously comfortable deco chair, that I’d have my morning coffee in, whilst looking at the stunning ocean...
