After spending four nights at the Andrew Pinckney Inn, we have no desire to search for other B&Bs when we return to Charleston—it was simply that good. We stayed in Room 408, a standard queen bedroom that never felt restrictive. Large windows overlooking Pinckney Street and the main building add warmth to the space. Breakfast, just down the hall, offered a generous selection of hot and cold dishes, fresh fruits, and pastries. Plus, the daily 4 PM wine and cheese hour was a welcome touch. The entire staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming, and the valet parking added a great level of convenience. Best of all, the hotel’s prime location is within walking distance of great restaurants and Charleston’s historic district. Really, what more could you ask for?

Beautiful inn in downtown Charleston. We stayed in the St. Philip Suite room which was very spacious and had a comfortable king sized bed. The room is located in the old building and is attractively decorated with exposed 19th century brick walls and a southern exposure view of the downtown market area. Breakfast was very good and is served across the street on the 4th floor of the newer building in a sunny room. This is a very nice inn, centrally located in downtown Charleston.

Stayed at the Andrew Pinckney for 2 nights whilst on a road trip up the East coast. What a phenomenal location right in the heart of the historic district with all the key sites and museums all within 3-4 blocks of the hotel. We booked a 2hr walking tour which took in a lot of the history, important properties and beautiful gardens. Also visited the Dock st Theatre which was beautiful. Within the hotel Brittany was a wonderful host welcoming us on arrival and being super efficient issuing room keys and on departure fetching our car when the valet was very busy. Highlight of the stay has to be Barbara’s hosting of the social hour where she skillfully introduced guests to each other and got great conversations going over her delicious cheese & charcuterie plates and home made delicacies accompanied by a wonderful selection of wines. An absolute gem if you are visiting Charleston! Rooms are luxurious and well appointed.

Stayed at the API for 3 nights to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We stayed in one of their “townhouses “ suites. We had a lower level living room with small kitchen area(sink, refrigerator, microwave) half bath. Upstairs there was a full bath with soaking tub ( small) and shower ,along with a decent sized bedroom with king bed. Our room also had a private roof top deck! In the morning the API hosts a breakfast. The breakfast was across the street from our building. Each morning they offer an egg type, potato dish, and lots of sweets. We also enjoyed their cocktail hour once. The location we found was perfect! Close enough to most downtown sites but far enough away from the crowds. The API is close to 3 different coach tour companies. So it made for a great starting point. We walked everywhere during our stay. A few times I was not looking forward to taking more steps to get reach our townhome and then taking more steps in the place. But we slept so well at night! The bed and linens were heavenly. We did place our Do Not Disturb sign on our door the first morning and upon returning found that they still had freshened up our room. Second day I texted my request which was honored.

My husband and I spent 3 nights in a king suite at the Andrew Pinckney Inn. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom, toilet and tub/shower , was small but adequate. Breakfast had more selections than a typical continental breakfast. It was good, but if you want something special and yummy I’d suggest you dine out. The location is great. We, a couple of seniors, walked everywhere. We would stay here again.

If you are looking for a quaint hotel in downtown Charleston that is only blocks from the market, restaurants and shopping, along with beautiful rooms and impeccable service then The Andrew Pinckney Inn is the place for you. When we first pulled up to valet our car, Drew was so friendly, prompt and helpful. They keep your car in a nice secure courtyard. Once inside we were greeted by Brittany and Rebecca with warm smiles and fresh baked cookies and reminded that the hotel offers a complimentary wine and cheese hour in the solarium and beautiful full breakfast each morning. When we stopping in for the wine and cheese reception Barbara was our host and she was awesome! By the way she also had homemade pimento cheese spread as well as many other treats. Another perk that I personally loved with the text concierge, they promptly respond to any questions or needs you might have during your stay. I am well traveled and have spend so many days in hotels that I am lifetime platinum with Marriott and I have to tell you, The Andrew Pinckney Inn is at the top of the list when it comes to customer service and quality. Thank you all for the wonderful experience

A very nice hotel in a perfect location. It is 2 blocks from the market area. You really can't ask for a better location. I stayed at the Townhome room which was very nice. Downstairs was the living area and upstairs the bedroom. It was quiet at night. There is coffee in the lobby all day with cookies after 3 pm. The breakfast is really good with many hot and cold items. It is well attended. I would certainly stay here again. My only suggestion is the afternoon 'wine and cheese hour and a half' should be self served. I felt like it was being rationed out. As such, I brought my own snacks because there is a really nice view from the room they use. It was a great stay and I would return. And I do because I go to Charleston every summer. Other good news is the 'Confederate Museum' at the market has reopened on weekends. It is now called the 'Civil War Museum'. The only Union item on display is a flag from a gun boat which the Confederate ground forces captured. It is a very impressive museum run by the Daughters of the Confederacy. The hotel was a great place to stay and I will return.

The rudest, pretentious place we've ever been to. Very unfriendly, unpleasant staff, dusty room, skid mark in the toilet! Unbelievable!! We are very tired and it's midnight here. So, we are staying unfortunatel regardless. We would never come back here. We do NOT recommend this Inn.

My wife and I took our first trip to Charleston to celebrate our anniversary recently and settled on the Andrew Pinckney Inn for our accomodations. We are SO GLAD that we did! We were continually impressed by the Pinckney and their offerings. To begin with, throughout our 4 night stay, *every* employee we interacted with was very kind and seemed to truly want to help. From housekeeping to valet to food services and front desk employees, we felt very welcomed. The front desk staff provided us with some great recommendations for dining and touring. There is also a texting service that they provides concierge assistance if desired; I texted a question about restaurants and received a response in less than 30 minutes. We also received several texts while staying to be sure that everything was to our liking. The room was well kept and as expected. We appreciated the unique design and decorating options. THE BEDS were some of the MOST COMFORTABLE beds we can ever remember using while on a trip. We felt that the sheets were very comfortable as well. The mini-fridge worked great and was stocked with 4 free waters every day of our stay. This was a great perk. The included breakfast was STELLAR. I am still dreaming of those giant chocolate croissants! I was impressed by the breadth of variety to choose from at breaskfast. We attended the wine/cheese service offered in the afternoon and it was nice. We're not huge wine drinkers but thought that it was a neat service to offer. Valet parking was much more affordable (and very fast!) compared to the other accomodations in the area. We had planned to park in a nearby parking lot before arriving to save some money but the pricing was different than what I was expecting so we just went with valet, which I recommend for most visitors. Overall we could not have been happier at the Andrew Pinckney and look forward to returning sometime in the future! (be sure to grab a cookie in the lobby in the late afternoon!)
