Beautiful property, lovely staff and customer service We enjoyed a nice weekend celebrating my fiances birthday here and were amazed by the view and amenities. Welcome staff (Dayna) was especially hospitable, and upon check out (Mimi) made sure our stay was everything we hoped it would be. Valet and service staff were kind and attentive. We had an issue with our room which was handled and managed with care by Tony. Because of this positive experience, we are excited to visit again! We live on Oahu and island hop often, so we’re looking forward to enjoying the best views possible of hanalei bay at 1 hotel in the future. Mahalos!

When we mentioned it at checkout all we got was a $100 credit, we paid $500 more for this “ocean view”. Even after emailing management, there was no more compensation.

One hotel is more amazing than our dreams, which was hard to do! Sudi checked us in and was the absolute best. He also has amazing photography skills and took a great picture upon arrival. We can’t recommend One Hotel and Sudi enough. It’s amazing.

What a wonderful hotel 👍 This is a superb hotel in every way. Great atmosphere and ambience - staff were first class. Views are stunning - a magnificent backdrop. Food was first class and you will struggle to fins a better hotel anywhere. Hopefully we will return.

Still, the professionalism and enthusiasm demonstrated by the staff for 1 Hotel was the best we’ve encountered. We will see you all next year!!!

We did not have a very good experience at this hotel. I’ll detail the pros and cons below but overall I would not recommend staying here. Pros—beautiful views. The rooms themselves are nice and spacious Cons—For that price of the hotel it is exceedingly frustrating the way they try to get more money out of you constantly. They charge $55 per day to park for guests which they don’t tell you up front. This price is waived for those not staying at the hotel who only come to eat which seems like an odd choice. There is also a daily resort fee. And breakfast is not included. The check in process is horrible. It feels more like you’re buying a used car. We sat down and the guy said to us “oh you’re in a mountain view room but we have an ocean view available, would you like that?” We said yes and only then did he say it would be an additional $125 a night when it sounded like he was offering it to us before. Then we get to the room and it doesn’t even have an ocean view, it’s basically directly next to the kids’ pool and that’s all you can see. Not exactly the privacy you want on your honeymoon. I went back to the front and complained and he said “sorry I don’t know what that room is like. It says ocean view in the system.” The staff does not seem well trained or knowledgeable at all. The prices at the restaurant are absurd, $80 for two pastas that were not filling and literally nothing else, not even drinks. The pillows in the room were horrible, very thin with no support. I called the front and asked for firmer pillows if they had some and was told they were coming. I made 3 phone calls over 45 minutes and never got the pillows and ended up just falling asleep without them. This service would be bad at any price but for the obscene amount they’re charging it is appalling. Don’t be like me and think, “oh it’s my honeymoon, I’ll splurge and it’ll be worth it.” Find somewhere else.

I had a deep tissue massage at the spa with Wanda and she was absolutely incredible! She released so many knots in my back that I had no idea I still had even after using a massage gun at home. She was so thorough to make sure that all the tension was released from all over my body - I feel like a brand new person! Highly recommend her as your technician. Had an amazing time at the 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay. We went there for our babymoon and loved every minute of it. The staff went out of their way to help us organize multiple activities during our vacation. Anthony and Mimi at the reception were very friendly and gave us a nice tour of the hotel. They upgraded us to an ocean view lounge room at check in. Kathryn and the concierge staff were great and helped me plan special activities for my wife to celebrate the babymoon even before we arrived. They even helped me arrange a photoshoot with Jared from Coral Phototgraphy that involved cutting a gender reveal cake. The hotel staff baked a special cake for us, and had it ready for the 7am photoshoot. The photoshoot was very well done and the pictures came out beautifully. The staff at the hotel restaurants including Phillip and Eliza were very friendly and gave great food recommendations. The view from our room and Welina Terrace is unbeatable! This truly is a fantastic hotel with wonderful staff who went of their way to make our stay special and enjoyable. We will certainly be back.

This is our first full day here. 5 star everything so far. Sudi who checked us in was amazing. So friendly, smart, and accommodating. Also took a complimentary Soul Sweat class with Hannah this morning that was fabulous. A terrific instructor

Most beautiful place Ive ever experienced. Treated well by everyone. Great place to escape and relax. My wife and I had the best end to our Honeymoon here and it was expensive but worth every penny. An experience you will never forget or regret

Anthony, who helped us from the start, truly made us feel like family—checking in on us throughout our stay and going out of his way to make our trip extra special. Every staff member we encountered was exceptional, from the concierge desk and servers to the valets and housekeeping. The service was top-notch! Our room was perfect, with stunning views that made our stay even more unforgettable. It was our first time here, but it definitely won’t be our last. We couldn’t recommend 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay enough!

I’ve been visiting the island of Kauai and Hanalei Bay for over 40 years. Normally, I rent a house near the bay but decided this time to spend 4 nights with my partner at 1Hotel. The resort is very well situated with beautiful views near the world class golf course and the hiking and ocean activities of the island. 1Hotel is the latest hotel to occupy this building and very recently opened after extensive remodeling. They’ve done a tremendous job of leveraging the bones of the old hotels while updating everything. We rented an ocean view suite on the 11th (the top) floor and were treated to beautiful sunsets and several rainbows across the bay in the morning. The gym facilties are tremendous and are our (minimal) experience with room service and their food service was great. Staff members were all very friendly and efficient - consistent with this class of hotel. My partner took great advantage of the infinity pool which is long enough for her morning lap swimming routine. A couple of things to be aware of - this is a very large property so you can expect the buzz that comes from a large population of guests in the public areas. There are ways to find quiet and intimacy but it feels like a large hotel. The beach attached to the hotel is small. The best beach in the area is across a river which is possible to cross when the current/tide is low (but I wouldn’t recommend it). Access to the Hanalei beach by car takes 15-20 minutes via a bit of a circuitous road with spectacular views. You’ll pass through Hanalei town that has more dining options and feels more like the funky part of the north shore. 1Hotel is part of the Princeville Resort which is beautiful but more of a planned multi development golf community. If this all fits your taste - it’s a must visit.

I recently stayed at 1 Hotel at Hanalei Bay on the island of Kauai. It was a delightful and memorable experience. While there I received a facial from Lauren and it was fabulous. She was welcoming and attentive to all my needs as was the entire staff at the Bamford Wellness Spa. As I requested Lauren explained the process and products she used during the facial. I would highly recommend a facial from Lauren. I also had the pleasure of attending stretching, yoga and Pilates classes and found the instructors to be knowledgeable, kind and eager to lead the participants in a meaningful experience. Kevin was the instructor for 1 Reset which I would highly recommend you try. It was truly a restoring and realigning for my mind and body. Nilce was the Pilates instructor and did a lovely job of making everyone comfortable and motivated to have the best experience possible. Mahalo to all of the wonderful staff at 1 Hotel at Hanalei Bay. It was DELIGHTFUL!!
