The MGM Grand is looking really dated. It is still not cheap to stay here. There is tape on the floor keeping the carpet together, only 4 elevators work, so there is a long line. They do have security that will take a portion of the line through to the service elevators. The room carpet is pretty old. I used the app to ask more towels because I guess we left our room too late to be cleaned. I waited for about 1.5 hours and finally gave up and went to bed. We put the do not disturb sign on the door. At 1:50 am we got a phone call that the towel guy was outside our room. We were obviously not dressed and were sleeping so I asked him to leave them by the door so I could just grab them when he left but apparently that is a safety violation. They are also doing construction FYI so there is some pounding. We are here for 2 more nights so pretty bummed about the value. I would totally expect this at like Excalibur or a hotel like that. It’s a bummer be as we really used to love it here. Just a tip from someone who has loved staying here for 20 years.

The staff were friendly and the room was cozy. They gave us food credit for our anniversary and my wife and I couldn’t have been more grateful. Made our anniversary extra special. Tap sports bar is a nice place to have dinner and watch sports at the same time.

This was the first time we had stayed at the MGM Grand and honestly I thought it was a very good hotel with some quirks, but overall a positive experience. We spent a few extra dollars and reserved a Spa Suite with a strip view. This room was almost 700 Sq Ft. and featured a couch, coffee table, and big bathroom with a hot tub spa and standing shower with glass enclosure. The bathroom was very clean and perhaps had been updated recently as the tile was clean and had no obvious signs of heavy wear. The view especially at night was amazing, with the lights of Vegas glowing. We would absolutely be willing to stay in this room again (23-139). There is one small ice bucket, one too small TV, no refrigerator for personal things (minibar only) and no coffee maker. There are also lines at times to get into the elevator from the lobby, which is just a few feet from check-in. But the line moves fast as they have several elevators working. Before we stayed I had read a lot about the self parking distance, and honestly I didn't think it was an issue at all. We almost always found parking near the elevator bank and a short walk into the hotel. I will say that the parking garage was confusing at times as they have several isles roped off and while the sign above points to exit, in reality that path may be closed and force you to continue to drive around. Entertainment wise, we saw David Copperfield on-sight, and I honestly didn't think too highly of. I'll leave a separate review of him. Restaurants are hit and miss. I would definitely miss again the Netflix Bites restaurant. But the 17 layer chocolate cake at Luchini is definitely a HIT. Pools were closed when we were there in February but I hear they are nice. Good location on the strip and short walk over to New York New York and even to T-Mobile Arena which is where we went to a show one night. Overall, it's a decent value for the money and I give it a 7-8.

Not so Grand at the MGM Grand
The experience started great as they were able to check us in early. I will admit I didn’t expect much with a complimentary stay (expect the resort fee), but this was awful. We got a room facing the green lights (obviously annoying, but could live with it given the circumstances)....

When I booked there was no indication the hotel would be under construction, but it massively was. A letter warned us that our water may be shut off (thankfully it wasn’t). They also provided ear plugs, but that couldn’t help the constant drilling and banging all day which made mid-day relaxation impossible. Half the elevators in our tower were also out due to the construction making the line for an elevator reminiscent of waiting for an amusement park ride (long and irritating but without eventually being rewarded for the wait).
Our tub continually dripped. The shower rod looked as if it was going to fall at any moment and there was no stopper in the sink that smelled like raw sewage every time we ran it. There was mold starting to grow on the ceiling of the bathroom since there were no fans. The room was lacking outlets by the bed which is super inconvenient (something most hotels these days have improved upon). While this was all bad, the icing on the cake was the chair that looked like it had feces on it from someone sitting on it after not wiping.
Given that I don’t have status and this was a free stay I will admit I didn’t bother talking to the staff or management (the service desk lines are also insane and not worth the wait anyway). I’m grateful we were only there two nights and would never recommend this hotel to friends or family even with some of the convenient features.

Last night our room flooded from a burst pipe. We called engineering and they came and told us we would have to transfer to another room. It was really early this morning when we found it so we were just in bed. The engineer told us the front desk would call. They did not. When housekeeping came up with a wet vac to start getting the water up, he told us to call the front desk. I did and they said they had no record of us having a problem. I told them they could talk to the housekeeping guy that was there. So they finally got us a new room and we packet up everything and moved at 6 am. They were not nice about having to move us and said all of our keys and everything would work. They didn’t. They offered nothing for what we have to do, so I complained. First they offered to take that ridiculous 50 resort fee of our bill and I said that was not enough so eventually we got our one night comped. My point is, you are going to have to fight for everything when things go wrong like this. They really will not offer you anything. Good luck to all of you!

Every minor convenience is met with an outrageous surcharge — they shamelessly nickel-and-dime guests at every opportunity. An utterly disappointing and exploitative experience.

Honestly, I’m sure every Vegas hotel as some dodgy reviews but we found this stay great.
Didn’t experience any rude staff, construction or poor facilities in the room.
Check in and check out was very easy- no hidden costs.
Once you navigate the areas you can easily get to your room within 5-10 minutes. Bear in mind the hotel is huge!
The room was clean and tidy and was well kept and cleaned every day. Good Bath products. Comfortable bed and quiet.
Pool is great, can be very busy but the lazy river is good fun. Prices at the bar not too bad.
The casino is good fun although I personally found it difficult to hit any big winners in this hotel.
We went to a range of places, Netflix bites which was great, losers bar- great atmosphere, level up which has good bar prices for draft beer and whiskey down which is relaxed.
Very easy access to the monorail too.
10 minutes from the airport- $29 in a cab.
Great position on the strip, lots nearby, New York New York over the road, tons of bars and food places minutes away and there’s always ABC stores where you can pick up cheap drinks and water.
Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at Mgm Grand in one of the newly remodeled rooms in Stay Well suite. Our bed was super comfortable. The room was very clean. Liked the lighting in the room. Nice shades to block out sun. The food is pricey as it is in any hotel on the strip. Great lazy river. Bring your own float, they charge alot to rent. Convenient location on the strip. Prefer to stay during the week, very busy on weekend.

It was a great room. Nice view and spacious. Staff was very friendly. Nice facilities. Checking in and out was very easy. Digital keys were a nice option. Room was clean. Love their pool area. Price was affordable.
Still a classic room was a little bit small but very nice refurbished shower a little bit weak bathroom very nice parking easy staff super friendly very long ways to get from one to another point. I don’t like slot machine there’s no breakfast.

We stayed at MGM Grand because Ghost was playing at the MGM Grand Arena. We did not even have to go outside at all from our hotel to get to this venue so this location was perfect. Aside from the advantage of having the hotel attached to the arena , the hotel itself really impressed us! There are so many pools and an impressive lazy river. There are so many restaurants to choose from as well. The Italian restaurant and Wolfgang Puck were top notch experiences. It was just a very nice, clean and pleasant hotel. It was more upscale than we were expecting; it wasn't just a concert-convenience hotel. The slots could have been a little kinder to me but we really have no complaints and would definitely stay here again. We did not leave the hotel at all during our two-night stay and really enjoyed ourselves.
