Everything great except for lack of elevator.

On the plus side, the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, the maid service superb, and the grounds kept pristine. We also appreciated the lack of annoying add-ons (free parking, no resort fee, free Wi-Fi, etc.). Our room was #86 which has a beautiful view of Napili Bay.

At the recommendation of family, we stayed here for three nights at the start of our time on Maui. The resort is wonderfully situated; the grounds are terrific and well-maintained; and it has al of the amenities. Our room was certainly comfortable. Yet, this is a four-star place charging five-star (or higher) prices. Some of the rooms are showing their wear and could use a renovation. We loved our stay. As to whether it is worth north of $700/night for a basic hotel room, I guess that is in the eye of the beholder.

We enjoyed our stay at the Napili Kai. Great location, excellent beach, nice on-site restaurant and friendly staff. The resort has a mix of families and couples. Beach is roomy, good snorkeling, easy swimming and has great ocean views with many whales seen during our stay.
Our morning walk was the Kapalua Coastal Trail (3-5 minute walk from the resort) connected through a boardwalk passing other resorts and incredible views of the ocean, beaches and lava rock formations. This also connects to another beach, Kapalua Beach.
There is an on-site restaurant, The Seahouse, which needs reservations for dinner as it books quickly. The restaurant is very good and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also, within a 3-5 minute walk is Merriman's restaurant, 5-star upscale restaurant overlooking Kapalua Beach with awesome ocean views.
The resort has a variety of activities during the week for guests, including a large putting green.
If you have a car the resort is about 1 hour away from the airport, 1.45 hours to the volcano crater, Ocean Vodka (great for sunsets), and lavender farm. Within minutes away are shopping areas, restaurants, golf courses and beaches. For water tours, many leave from Ka’anapali Beach, which is a public beach 15-20 minutes away.
Rooms are large, have a small kitchen, slightly dated but enjoyable and comfortable. It's a nice quiet resort and I recommend it.

I won six nights here on The Price is Right in July 2024 and had never visited Maui, or Hawaii, in my entire life.
Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the resort. Napili Kai might be no frills, but don’t let that fool you - it’s a beautiful resort with great views of the ocean and easy access to the beach.
We had six nights in an oceanfront 1 bedroom, in the Puna Point II complex. Easy, semi-reserved parking (we never had trouble finding a spot) with easy access to the room. The view from the room was absolutely amazing.
They have several pools, a putting green, easy access to the beach (with reserved equipment for guests), an on-site restaurant with good food and drinks, and a souvenir shop. The resort is easy to find and conveniently located.
I would definitely come back here with the family at some point and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great trip to Maui.

This is an excellent resort with plenty of Aloha spirit. We travel alot and can honestly say this is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in.
It is low rise on a beautiful bay with sandy beach, clear water and amazing fish to see snorkeling on the reef and rocks. Gardens have many varieties and buildings are Polynesian style. The sunsets are also spectacular. The rooms are clean, large with beautiful views and well stocked to allow self catering. A shopping bag and cool bag were provided and a 2 litre jug to fill up with fresh drinking water available in reception. Coffee and tea were available for early birds and afternoon tea in reception and at the beach cabana with "cultural talks" at 1030. There were various daily activities if you wanted them when you could meet other guests such as mini golf on the 18 hole putting green, mai tai reception and lei making party. We also enjoyed the Polynesian dancing display by local young people. We met many families who had returned multiple times and no wonder.
You can walk or run along a beautiful promenade and coastal walk or up to Pineapple hill past the golf course almost from the edge of the property.
During our stay everyone respected quiet time during "island hours" except one guest which was handled sensitively and promptly by the duty manager Mark . All the staff were charming.
We ate at Sea house one evening and there are 3 restaurants within walking distance or others in a short drive. I would recommend Merrimans on the next bay which was a wonderful experience.
Parking was super easy and free. There was a main pool and 3 smaller ones plenty sunbeds and free towels. Nice beach kiosk to purchase food and drinks and a lovely boutique on site. There were also barbecues for guests use that were cleaned each morning.
We would definitely return if only we didn't live so far away in the UK.

At first glance, the rooms are a bit dated and the lobby isn't spectacular. Parking is adequate and the front of the "resort" is a bit awkward. But, once you look at your patio and see the bay/ocean and you stroll under the big mango tree to the beach, you understand why you pick this place. Location, Location, Location, Beach, Bay, Great Restaurants, and did I say Location!
The Gazebo is a short walk along the beach for a fantastic breakfast. The Sea House for cocktails, dinner, and a sunset to die for. The If you want pricey but worth it, you have the Planation House at Kapalua, and
Merriman's, just a short walk (2 mins to be exact).
The Kapalua Coastal trail is right out your door and the Plantation Course is you want to play the golf is a can't miss.
Probably my favorite was the snorkeling in Napili Bay. Swam with 3 sea turtles and saw countless colorful fish, again, just out your door and a 2 min walk.
So, if location is important, you are at the right place!

NKBR has been perfect in every way. Donna Bender with Maui Calls has been amazing to work with. She has answered numerous questions and made sure we got the perfect unit for us. 220 in Puna Point. Spectacular views, quiet and incredibly peaceful. Everyone working here (and in Maui in general) have been very friendly and helpful. The trail walk to the main part of the resort makes staying out on Puna Point even better. Napili Bay and Kapalua Bay are right outside the door for snorkeling. We were in awe with the amount of sealife we saw while snorkeling. All within just steps of the condo. The location is amazing. Several pools and the hot tubs are perfect after swimming in the bays. We ate the 1st 3 nights at Sea House. Great food, service and views. So nice to have an amazing restaurant right on site. Don't miss their Happy Hour. Just a short drive to Kaanapali Beach and Whaler's Village if you are looking for additional restaurants, shopping and more activities. For a scenic drive, head up to the blow hole and stop at all the quiet beaches along the way. We even saw a surf competition. When we come back to Maui, this will be our choice again. Thank you NKBR and Donna! :)

This is a beautiful and very quiet and relaxing hotel. The staff are very friendly. We stayed in an ocean view studio in the Lani 2 bldg and had a really nice view from our room. We really appreciated the kitchenette and used it daily for our breakfast and sometimes lunch. There is a wonderful coastal trail right out of the parking lot to the Kapalua area. There are daily activities that the hotel runs to encourage meeting other guests and having fun. We are definitely planning a return trip.

We booked our stay through Donna Bender of MauiCalls who was super responsive and helpful. No extra fee for using this service either. Highly recommend and planning a return visit for next winter. The hotel is situated right on the beach of a
lovely cove, restaurant with delicious food and great mai tai on the premises.
So much nicer than staying in a big corporate hotel that could be plopped down anywhere and you wouldn’t know the difference.

We booked Napili Kai through Donna Bender of MauiCalls. Donna helped us choose and request the ocean-front room location we wanted at Napili Kai, and she provided her Local Girl's Guide to Maui. Her Guide was very helpful with restaurant, activity, shopping, and travel information. Napili Kai is a very attractive development of low-rise buildings in a great location directly beside Napili beach, perfect for swimming and snorkling. The resort is quiet and low-key. The buildings are spread out over a large, beautifully landscaped property. Our studio apartment was roomy and comfortable. It included a well-equipped kitchen and lovely lanai with beautiful ocean view. The staff were all pleasant folks who made us feel welcome.

We had an amazing stay and will definitely come back again, we stayed in a studio with a fully equipped kitchen including utensils for the outdoor grills, a full sized dishwasher and full sized refrigerator. The lanai is beautiful, and furnished with comfy lounge chairs. Everything was clean and there are ceiling fans and air conditioning in the room. The beach is right off the property, beach chairs and towels are supplied and you can exchange towels through out the day for fresh ones. The snack bar by the beach and pool has amazing frozen drinks. The pools all have breathtaking views and you are very close to the coastal trail hiking path, which I highly recommend checking out. Parking is free and they provide you with a tag for your dashboard. So many pluses -this places checked all the boxes for what I wanted in a resort. Don’t hesitate-book this place !!!
