We have stayed at Senza five times and love this place. The few times we have stayed elsewhere in Napa, we regretted it. However, the ownership has changed hands. It is still a very nice hotel, but the Hall family made it feel like a quaint bed and breakfast. They offered complimentary breakfast, evening wine tastings with hors d' oeuvres. Bottle of wine in your room upon arrival. It's the special touches that made this place great. The hotel was purchased by a family office and investment firm that wants to maximize revenue. That's all fine, but it definitely took away what made Senza special. This hotel is a little far South in the valley and not ideal for the wineries that we like to visit. So we will opt to stay further North in the future. I would suggest the current owners bring back the complimentary items and charge more for the rooms if maximizing the NOI is of primary concern. The property, rooms and service are still great.

I've stayed at Senza 3 times in the last 3 years. Here are the things about Senza that I found very appealing (beyond location and lovely hotel):
- Amazing complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning, including mimosas
- Nightly complimentary wine pours from local wineries
- A complimentary bottle of Hall wine in the room
- Great partnerships with local wineries that offered free or greatly reduced wine tastings
- No 2 night minimum on the weekend
Senza has new ownership and the only thing that still exists is the no 2 night minimum on the weekend :( . The wine pours exist but only every other night and not the Saturday we were there. The local winery partnerships offer a couple of free tasting options (Hall and maybe one other) but the other options are very pricey!
I appreciate things change, but the reasons I used to pick Senza first are gone. This is a nice hotel with a high price point and the little "extras" used to be a big differentiator... that is no longer the case and I will do a broader search of Napa before booking Senza again.
In fact, when I was sitting in the lounge having coffee another guest came in looking for the breakfast buffet - clearly a return guest who didn't realize that was no longer offered.
Oh - the toilet paper needs an upgrade, it's like wiping with sandpaper!

Unbeatable value for luxury
This was such a lovely stay. The room was beautiful, clean, and luxurious. We had a fireplace as well as heated floors in the bathroom. The gym got the job done. But honestly what made it so great was how quiet and cozy everything felt without sacrificing tech and convenience....
This was such a lovely stay. The room was beautiful, clean, and luxurious. We had a fireplace as well as heated floors in the bathroom. The gym got the job done. But honestly what made it so great was how quiet and cozy everything felt without sacrificing tech and convenience. Also the value for the stay in unbeatable. We were there for New Year’s Eve but I reckon on a normal evening there would have been plenty to walk to and enjoy. You really don’t have to leave the property to have a nice stay. The staff was very kind and professional.

Charming Gem in a good location
Great service, great location and well manicured property. Very charming and recently renovated to make it even better. Most rooms have good views and views of the vines and for a b&b they also have a gym, pool, and hot tub. We have been three times and will be back.

Beautiful Surprise and Great Stay

A beautiful and recently renovated property. It’s between Napa and the valley. It’s about halfway. We stayed in room #11. Even with some noise from the adjacent bistro room, we still give it 5 stars. If muffled hotel noises bother you—stay in a room further away or a different building. BUT if you do you will miss the really convenient walk around for the wine tastings they take place in that bistro in the evenings.
We had complimentary wine tastings on Friday and Sunday when we stayed.
The room was large with open space and a desk/chair and a foot of bend dressing bench. Small closet. And the walk in shower is a bit undersized so has “splash” onto the bathroom floor—so dry yourself then dry the floor.
Staff were excellent. Souallia (spelling) was a GREAT morning host in the bistro every day with a smile and friendly conversation. Taylor and Sheila (I think) at the front desk asked questions about the room and our needs and made sure we were well situated. We didn’t meet the housekeeping but we had new water, fresh towels and made up bed that looked like the first check in every day.
I do NOT GIVE FIVE STARS!! I start everyone at three and if you do everything you promise and on time…that’s a three. This place earned five.

Unpretentious but luxurious!
Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, great area to relax and enjoy wines with our friends after touring the valley all day. The generous offering of tastings was so appreciated, and the unpretentious simplicity was a welcome! Thank you for your hospitality;
A great stop on the Napa Valley Trail
