Not tech friendly

Excellent dining and bar. Rooms spacious with great view of Potomac River separating WV and MD. My only complaint is lack of accessible outlets to charge phones, laptops and tablets. Of the 6 outlets available, 4 were inaccessible (behind bed, couch and bar) and of those, 3 were completely full...

Disappointing

My wife and I were looking forward to returning to the Bavarian Inn once again because our previous visit had been a wonderful experience. While the food and service continued to be excellent, our room was very disappointing. As had been the case on our previous visit, we reserved a...

Not the wedding anniversary getaway that we were hoping for.

Booked 2 nights for big wedding anniversary. Front desk staff not well trained and we had to keep asking if we could check in. Finally got to our chalet room on bottom floor. There was a dehumidifier in the bedroom and outside of the room. The bathtub did not drain...

Cute and cozy fall/winter stay

We stayed in a Manor View Premier room in the Schwarzwald Building. It was so charming and cute. Since we went in November, it was chilly and the fire place in the room made it so cozy. I noticed some people commenting on the cleanliness.Even though the rooms are older,...

restaurant lost my interest

first time eating here that I was very disappointed. German food was bland (wiener schnitzel)….spaetzle — maybe a table spoon of it on plate…everything cold (on a 10 point scale maybe 3), told wait staff…she took it and it came back with food temperature about a 6 luke warm. Then...

Worth a visit at least once.

You go here knowing this is a kitschy-themed resort. It's small-town, family-owned, and has been around for generations. They've made an effort to update the rooms and public areas. The bathrooms are still quite outdated but they are large and adequate. The main building is nice with three dining options....

Couples getaway

Absolutely blissful quick getaway to Bavarian Inn. Great service and food. Accommodations were perfect. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We took a great hike on C&O canal as well! Cant wait to go back when the pool is open for another visit.

Disappointed

My wife and I were traveling through on a business trip and I wanted to stop for lunch and a pint since they craft their own beer. I had the Crab Cakes and a Carol’s Royal Stout. The small portion of the lump crab was small. Very tasty, but small....

Nothing a lot of training and leadership won’t cure

Great Pub area. However’ the main dining room is reminiscent of a nursing home dining room from the ‘80’s… and is I n tragic need of updating. Overall has the makings of a great experience (provided you eat in the pub area) with the exception of the F&B leadership… it’s...

Public space renovations instead of upkeep of rooms

Stayed in a room with a scant view of the Potomac River and on a bottom floor so we heard footsteps above. Made the reservation more than 6 months ahead of time and a repeat visitor. The room had wet carpet from a leaking AC and you can tell they...
