17Hundred90 Inn

In a city that is steeped with history and bursting with culture, 17Hundred90 Inn stands out as one of the most historic honeymoon destinations of them all. Both the inn and guest house date back to the 19th century, with the structures originally serving as private residences before they were transformed into the magical, romantic oasis that they are today. And it’s not just the amenities that offer a taste of historic Savannah, as the attentive staff is committed to upholding the values instilled by the city’s founders, who believed in making a genuine connection and fulfilling needs before they arise.

Honeymooning couples will get to decide between the two sections of the property, the Main Inn and three Guest Houses. The two-floor inn features fourteen rooms that each have a four-post bed, private shower, and gas log fireplace. The vibe is certainly reminiscent of classic England, with a few of the rooms offering a true 18th-century experience with curtained beds that are the pinnacle of romance and luxury. The guesthouses right across the street from the Main Inn are just as luxurious, with available hand-painted ceilings, original 19th-century murals, spa tubs, and great views of York Street.

Beyond the lovely rooms and luxurious amenities, the signature of a 17Hundred90 honeymoon is the dining and drink options. Foodies will be forgiven for thinking that they have gone to heaven on account of a carefully-curated menu of the finest steaks, lamb, chicken, and seafood. Cranberry stuffed pork, salmon Oscar, black ‘n’ blue New York Strip, and Boursin chicken merely scratch the surface of the available entrees. Then there are the fine wines, complex cocktails, and handcrafted desserts, all of which perfectly round out the experience.

A 17Hundred90 honeymoon can best be described through the inn’s 1923 Buick Touring Car that is often parked out front. The car, like the inn, has been expertly maintained over the course of a century, is graceful in its grandeur and sophistication, and instantly transports you to a bygone era. For a romantic honeymoon that beautifully cherishes the past, you and your loved one simply can’t go wrong with this Savannah gem.
