All the Christmas charm and January snowfalls made this an excellent stay in the Pocono's, even though this place is biased toward summer golfing. We stayed at the more contemporary Inn, though we certainly enjoyed the historical grand-resort charm of the big Lodge for meals and other activities. Families with small children seem to be drawn here as well. Breakfasts and dinners were wonderful.
What I really admire is how, in the depths of the off-season, they retain a generous staffing level, all of whom seem very experienced, friendly and helpful. Contrast this with many resorts who pare down to a skeleton staff in the off seasons.
We watched a film crew shoot something for the Pocono Tourism Bureau in their romantic bar -- The Library -- a sensible choice: Booze and fireplaces with old books up the walls -- what's not to love?

This service continued after we left. I had misplaced gloves and sunglasses and did not realize it until we got home. Not having any other email but that of the reservations department,I sent an email asking if anyone had found them. They promptly forwarded my email to Security, who reached out to me the next day to say they had them and would send them via priority mail - my gloves and glasses reached me in 3 days!
My husband and I were away to celebrate his retirement but we saw so many families having a relaxing, fun weekend that we will be back with ours in the future!

Wonderful stay, this place has it all! History, lovely grounds, lots to do, good food, nice people! Lots of employees on hand interested in helping guests and ensuring the place thrives! Alex was kind to help us switch rooms without judging :), Robertus was super personable with us and we saw him going above and beyond late at night cleaning up; Robert also helped with our bags and was flexible, helpful, and friendly. Shuttle driver Kim (and Clay?) were also helpful—all drivers were actually! We appreciated the gesture for our anniversary! Classy touch—thank you Sky Top Team! We look forward to returning!

Just spent a weekend at Skytop. The lodge is a beautiful old stone building. I stayed in the lowest cost room (deluxe king) which was not cheap ($400 a night). I was little nervous about the bathroom ahead of time based on some of the reviews. However, the room was actually pretty nice. Updated, clean carpet and good heat. There were plenty of bottles of water, which were free and replenished daily. The bathroom was fine - there was a (small) bathtub and shower combo. The breakfast buffet was very good. The library bar and the food at the Lakeview Restaurant were excellent. Service was outstanding all over the resort. There were plenty of activities included (skiing, tubing, hiking, bikes etc) that actually justify the price if you plan ahead. Overall a really good experience.

Still a paradise! Fun and enrichment for all ages. Maintains its historic elegance, charm and peace; while offering up to date services, amenities and adventures. I have visited about 40 times over almost 60 years, and it never loses its magic. The staff are uniformly efficient and friendly. There’s a sense of community that you don’t get at your average hotel.
The grounds are magnificent, with breathtaking views. The multiple hiking trails take you deep into nature, with streams, grottoes, waterfalls, lakes…They’re actually indescribable. Make sure you do Levitt Falls and Indian Ladder Falls. Climbing Skytop Mountain is arduous, but the view is so worth it!
Some rooms in the Lodge may be little small, but are well appointed with very comfortable beds. The Lodge rooms facing the back have amazing views. There are a variety of room sizes to choose from. For larger rooms, the suites, the cottages and the Inn are wonderful options.
