The Portland Harbor Hotel’s distinctive design and top-notch service have earned it the distinction of being an American Automobile Association (AAA) four-diamond hotel for the past six years; the only hotel to receive this honor in Portland.
For guests arriving by car, simply pull in to the Hotel’s garage on Fore St. to be greeted by a valet. The main entrance to the Hotel is at the corner of Fore and Union streets, once inside our doors you will see a gracefully curved staircase leading up to the hotel entrance from the street level. If you prefer, there is also an elevator to the left of the doors.
The hotel recently underwent renovations in its restaurant and lounge and added six private luxury guest suites, complete with double-sided fireplaces and a stylish, modern appearance.
Comfortable rooms have city and bay views, big bath tubs, and ultra comfortable beds fitted with soft pillows and elegant linens. A cozy restaurant and a fitness center make it a perfect place to relax after a day of sightseein
Honeymooners and romantic travelers appreciated the excellent accommodations, the proximity to the waterfront, bars, and restaurants, and the extra amenities such as afternoon tea and cookies. The rooms were described as modern, clean, and spacious, with fantastic customer service, especially from staff member Anna who went above and beyond to make guests' stays special. The location was praised for being perfectly situated downtown, with the added bonus of a firepit on the terrace for guests to gather. Visitors also loved the unique refreshment/snack stand on each floor and the concierge-type amenities outside the elevator, which offered a variety of items throughout the day. Despite some minor issues, the overall experience at the hotel was wonderful, with clean and updated rooms, friendly staff, and an ideal location for exploring the area.
Excellent accommodations. Great little bar and outside area. Close to the waterfront and easily walkable to most bars and restaurants. Lots of shopping in the area. If you're in Portland, consider staying here. We had a great time and they offer afternoon tea and cookies as well as had a...
Read Full ReviewI would not recommend this hotel. Parking is $45 per day and they charge a resort fee of $35 per day. This is all in addition to your nightly room rate. There are a lot of other nice hotels in the area. I suggest you look at those before booking...
Read Full ReviewGood hotel. Great location. But as others have said WAY too many hidden fees! Poorly explained and seem very sketchy. Constantly run out of the amities that they charge a “resort fee” for providing. Service is meh. Should be great for what they charge.
We stayed three nights October 18th, 19th and 20th before finishing our trip off by visiting Bar Harbor. Unlike another recent review left by someone regarding the temporarily out of commission elevator, someone brought our luggage up to the room during check in without us even asking. We stayed in...
Read Full ReviewWe were pleasantly surprised by the hotel because of mixed reviews. First, it was gorgeous inside. Everything was immaculate! The staff was so helpful and friendly. We understood the valet parking fee because we would pay that in any downtown city. The room was spacious and clean. We loved the...
Read Full Review5th time at PHH. Location is excellent but it's resting on its laurels. Starting to show signs of needing to be re-carpeted. Staff is friendly but overworked. Meal service was extremely slow and bar tender was a fill-in for a no show who had started at 6 AM and was...
Read Full ReviewI guess they get one star because the room was...big? and had a nice view of a pine tree? But that's it. Otherwise awful. You probably already know that it's a fairly expensive place. You may even know that the parking is an extra $45/night. But you may not know...
Read Full ReviewOn site parking is expensive but all parking in Portland is about the same. The rooms are great and service is really good. The only issue was the young lady at check in didn’t offer any information. She basically gave us our room number and key. There were amenities offered...
Read Full ReviewWe had a wonderful experience at this hotel except for a few small things. The location is excellent, the room was clean, updated and awesome, the staff were friendly and there was a concierge type of amenity outside of the elevator that was fabulous! Instead of having a coffee maker...
