We just spent 10 days at this resort which we call our ‘home away from home’. This resort is perfect for my husband and I. We love everything about it - the rooms are beautiful and clean, the pools are amazing, and the beach is absolutely spectacular! But what we love the most about this place (3rd time there) is the incredible people who work there. We love them ❤️ The activities team (Jerik, Osvaldo, Marco, Alex) are so much fun and friendly. We enjoyed the pool volleyball, water aerobics, morning stretching on paddle boards and I was invited to participate in an inspiring Women’s Day activity which was beautiful. I was so grateful! All the butlers are great too with making sure we are always good and have everything we need. They book our dinner reservations, excursions, you name it - they do it. There is a very special place in our hearts though for Enrique and Bernie. Those guys are top notch. The restaurants were also good but again, it was the people who drew us back there. Arturo from Papitas is so awesome and Jesus from Mio is just the most special human being. We went to Mio most of the time for the terrific food… and to see Jesus 😉 We were so sad to leave yesterday but will see you all next year!!!!

Service was amazing and all the staff was super fun to be around. They made it super relaxing and care free, will definitely be coming back again. Osvaldo what’s super fun involving all the guests in games and fitness classes. The drinks were so good aswell.

My husband and I just returned from an amazing five-night stay at El Dorado Maroma in early March, and we're already dreaming about our next trip back! This was our second time at an El Dorado property (we fell in love with Casitas in 2021), and we decided to give Maroma a go because our first experience was so incredible. This time, we were in search of a gorgeous beach, a cozy resort vibe, and mouthwatering culinary delights—and let me tell you, El Dorado Maroma delivered on every front! From the moment we set foot on the property, we felt like VIPs. Henry, the charming bellman, welcomed us with refreshing cool towels and whisked our bags away, while the delightful David checked us in. David made sure all our requests were met and gave us the lowdown on all the resort's fabulous offerings. Our room wasn’t ready at 2:30 PM, but no worries! David sent us off to the taqueria for hand made tacos al pastor and de lingua, and within 30 minutes, we were all set. Henry escorted us to our beautiful room on the second floor of Mi Hotelito, which had a stunning view of the lush grounds, swaying palm trees, and a sneak peek of the ocean beyond. Even though the property was nearly at full capacity, it never felt crowded. We always snagged a Bali bed or lounger on the beach, where the super-attentive staff made us feel pampered at every turn. Shoutout to Solome and Diego at Bar 24—they were a blast to chat with! Plus, the activities team—Alex, Marco, Cris, Osvido, and Jerik—kept the fun going with twice-daily beach volleyball games that were an absolute highlight and offer a 45 minute kayak tour where we got to snorkle! Dining was another level of awesome. Felipe at Lima Lemon and Pepitos was not only a fantastic waiter but his enthusiasm was downright contagious. The food? Simply put, a culinary adventure to remember. The chefs are total rock stars! Even though there are just four restaurants, each meal was a unique and delicious experience. We also took advantage of the More Inclusive package, which is definitely worth it. We enjoyed a Catamaran snorkel trip right off the resort and an off-site (but close!) cenotes swim and racnh tour. These adventures made our stay even more special. In summary, El Dorado Maroma is the perfect place to do everything or nothing at all. Whether you want to soak up the sun or dive into fun activities, there's something for everyone. We'd rate El Dorado Maroma a 20 out of 10—this place went above and beyond our wildest expectations!

This was our third 7-day stay at the always wonderful El Dorado Maroma. Knowing the resort, you come to expect consistent quality in all aspects, and it exceeded expectations. We stayed in a spacious swim up suite, well catered to by our butlers, Alex and Enrique, who helped us plan meals, massages, activities, and beachside and members dinners. The beach is one of the finest anywhere, with an ample number of loungers and Bali beds and excellent butler service. We enjoyed aqua-fitness with fun and energetic Oswaldo, some of the best massages ever from Liliana and Angeles, and an informative and entertaining tequila pairing with Augustin. Evening poolside musical entertainment was well performed and incorporated classic rock, country and reggae, and got the audience onto the floor. As always, the beachside Mexican fiesta was a highlight. We did leave campus once for a superb full-day exploration of three underground cenotes booked by Lomas and conducted by Ocean Tours. Resort dining was first-class in quality, ambience and service. Our only slight disappointment was with the Molcajete dinner at Pepito’s, which we found uncharacteristically limited in choices. We would much prefer a full-featured gourmet Mexican menu incorporating specialties from across the country. On the other hand, we appreciated the addition of the Taqueria, which served up tasty tacos and guacamole throughout the day. Needless to say, we very much look forward to our next visit to this sensational resort.

We have been to El Dorado Maroma many times and it never disappoints. This is a place one goes to relax and, from the moment of arriving, one feels welcome and pampered. Even the welcoming doorman, prior to meeting the ever friendly and obliging concierge Carlos, makes one feel special. The location is beautiful, and one can still go for relatively long walks along the beautiful beaches or, if walking is not on the agenda, laze in comfort cared for by beach butlers Manuel and Kevin. If one is more inclined to activities or water sports - or even cooking or cocktail making lessons, Alex, Hazael, Gustavo and Osvaldo are ready and waiting! Personally I practice yoga and teacher Kris is as good as anyone I’ve practised with; a big bonus! Another favourite is the spa - especially the wonderful Wilmar. The staff at ElDorado Maroma are there to take care of you and one`s personal butlers, in this case Manual and Mirbel, make sure dinner reservations are made, and provide anything you need in your room on an ongoing basis. We have always found the personal butlers to go above and beyond and it is always lovely to see familiar faces from previous years, most recently Juietta, Alex, Eli and Enrique, and feel as though you are running into an old friend. Likewise at the restaurants. Augustin remains a maitre d` to be aspired to and the staff at both Lima Limon and Palapitos are always welcoming; particular mentions to Lucy, Yari, and Fernanada, along with Alberto, Arturo, Felipe, Jesus, Eduardo, Juan and Bladimir. The food remains of a high quality and for seafood lovers Lima Limon is a must! Thank you everyone for keeping E lDorado Maroma special and looking forward to next year.

We stayed in Palofito 1629 (the best one)-- we LOVED the room, especially the outdoor shower and the glass floor! The palofito's outdoor space is wonderful-- plenty of shade, comfy lounging. We had breakfast delivered to our back deck each morning (don't miss the French toast, holy moly). Each morning we set up in a bali bed reserved for Palofitos-- the bali beds are so relaxing and it doesn't hurt that the servers keep the drinks and guac coming constantly. Our favorite meal was at Papito's. Skip the complimentary hydrotherapy at the spa (it's just a random room with a hot tub, cold plunge, and pool, nothing special). We had a few hiccups with our room (our jetted bathtub spewed some distinctly un-romantic gunk), but the butler service was prompt and attentive. Highly recommend for a relaxing vacation!!!

Armando should be commended for his excellent service. He went above and beyond expectations to help us find a preferred comfortable spot on the beach! Included room-service 24 hours per day. Concierge service next to none. The entertainment staff including Alex, Jerik, Osvaldo and Marco enhanced the experience to another level! Playing beach volleyball with them 2x/day was a hilarious treat. Many laughs to elevate the day. They should be commended for their excellent service :)

Beautiful resort! The food was hands down the best food at a resort I’ve ever had. I also loved how there was a great amount of entertainment but it still felt quiet there. Jerome, Osvaldo, and Marco were so great and made the experience that much more fun!

This hotel, beach and staff is the best in Mexico! The pace is relaxing and fun! They have plenty of daily activities to keep you entertained. Highly recommend the crafts and pool foam party. Jerik, Marcos, Cris, Alex, Kevin and Osvaldo are so much fun!

El Dorado Maroma is our favorite resort in Mexico hands down. The beach is beautiful, the staff is amazing and activities are available all day, every day. Marcos, Cris, Jerik, Osvaldo, Alex and Kevin will definitely keep you entertained and having fun!

Beautiful and peaceful! The staff were friendly, food was good, and the drinks were flowing! Exceptional staff were: Diego, Salmone, Francisco, and Kevin but all were kind and attentive and willing to answer questions as well as share knowledge and information about Mexico. Favorite food: the taqueria had the best Al pastor tacos I ever had! we went back almost everyday. Papitos molcajetes were delicious as were the sopes. The italian restaurant had great risotto and pasta was solid! Breakfast was always delicious and room service was okay but definitely hit the spot after a late night. The drinks: anything you want they can make! Higher shelf liquor was included too but the house wines were pretty bad (not a complaint though we had plenty of options). The beach bar with the swings opened when we were there which was excellent! The room: we stayed in a honeymoon suite which was a little outdated sure but still very nice and exceptionally clean! Stayed very cool and had a nice view. Bed was very comfortable! The resort: stunning! The beach is even better than the pictures and the pools are clean and cool. It never felt crowded and we never had to fight to get a chair or Bali bed. we did a shot glass painting and tequila tasting which was super fun!

This was our 5th visit to El Dorado Maroma. We visited March 16th-26th and we are Emerald Members with Exotic Travel. We booked a Saphire Swim up room Non-Refundable More Inclusive 6/25/24. Some of the events that we were NOT happy with. Pre-arrival services: 1. We called Reservations and provided Flight information and spoke to Veronica 4 months prior to travel. We also advised Veronica that we needed assistance for an Early check in because of a fight change. Upon arrival to the airport in Cancun, no flight information was documented to Lomas Travel. No early check in was noted once we arrived to Maroma. 2. Check in seemed to go smoothly, room was not ready, so we were asked to wait for an hour, and they would call us. Our evening dinner reservation was made at the check in. We were very hungry, so we walked to Tacoria still in our winter travel attire! Excellent tacos made to order. An hour went by and still no call. My husband went back to check in. Room was ready. Room 801. The bellman gave us a ride to our room. I can guarantee that no one had been in that room for a long time. The room was dusty the patio had fresh paint drips on it and the beach chairs had fresh paint and dirt on them. The entrance to the Swim up pool was slimy and extremely slippery and there was not a railing to get in and out of the pool. 3. Still have not heard or seen or met our Butlers it's now 5pm. 4. Since it was our 5th time at Maroma we know some of the staff. I'm so proud to call Israel and Enrique friends. We noticed them on Tuesday morning and asked them to assist us with locating our butler to start receiving some butler services. Israel was asking how we liked our room. We showed him around and indicated our concerns with the railing to get in and out of the pool was missing, paint on our chairs and not being cleaned. He took some photos and asked to see if there were any other rooms we could move to. 5. We finally meet our butlers Alex and Manuel. THIS IS WHEN THE OUTSTANDING SERVICE STARTS! We would like to Thank Israel for getting the approval for us to change rooms to 601! Fantastic room and safe to get in and out of the pool! Enrique for asking if we need anything every time he saw us. To Jesus and Marlina in Mio for making our dining experience so much fun and enjoyable! To Angel at Lima Limone. Thank you for offering your arm to assist me to a wheelchair. Your kindness did not go unnoticed! To Daniel, Rene, Betsie, Philipe and a fairly new bartender I can't remember his name. He was promoted from the mini bar stack crew. He worked so hard to please everyone that day! Believe me there were a ton of people in the pool and specialty drinks! Great job! To our house keeping staff, service with a smile was truly remarkable!

We stayed at the Hotel El Dorado Maroma for a week, and thoroughly loved it. The Hotel was beautiful, and located on Playa Maroma, the most beautiful beach with amazing white sand. But what set our experience apart was the staff. We were welcomed with open arms by our consierge, Elizabeth (Eli). She took excellent care of us from the moment we arrived, until the moment we left. She booked all of our dinner reservations, advised us about available excursions, and took care of any questions that came up during our stay. A very nice lady with a warm sense of humour, and genuinely wonderful! The dinner reservations included a Mexican dinner on the beach, a very interesting beach dinner with entertainment for Earth Day, and lots of great food at all the different restaurants. We enjoyed our breakfast every day at Papitos restaurant. We had Carlos as our host on most days, and what an amazing guy! He is a real credit to the resort, super friendly, quick service, with a great sense of humour. We looked forward to seeing him every morning - even if we weren't seated in his section, he'd always make time to stop by and ask how we were. The beach was really beautiful, the white sand was just incredible and so relaxing. Once again the beach service by the various staff was always 10/10 excellent. We met a lot of nice guests at the resort, everyone was so friendly. We loved our trip, and look forward to visiting the resort again. Thank you for a truly wonderful experience!

So very relaxing! My husband and I stayed in this beautiful hotel for 14 nights! Maroma's beach is large, beautiful and very well maintained. Shout out to Rafael, the beach butler, who always was trying to please and help. Julietta, an outstanding butler, personable and helpful was always there if we needed something. Staff was busy cleaning the beach, guiding the extra curricular activities at the pool, serving guests, transporting guests via golf cart. If you want to choose a stellar, relaxing boutique vacation in Mexico with great security, this IS the place. Book this and enjoy!

This is definitely not a 5 star resort. The rooms are ok but nothing special - our bathroom had a cracked sink and there was a background noise like a generator all the time. Towels seemed to be an optional extra - sometimes we got them, sometimes we didnt. If you like getting up at 6 this is the place for you as there is a severe shortage of sunbeds. During our first few days we were up early and people were sleeping on the beds to reserve them. Simple answer - buy some more beds. The plastic glasses used at the pools and the beach bar are disgusting and not washed properly. They are just dipped and reused. The restaurants.are something else. They make you re use your cutlery for each course and it is a lottery as to whether the food will come up hot, warm or cold. The service varied from very good to appalling. The food took so long to arrive for our last lunch that one couple were actually sleeping at their table. We complained and eventually our food arrived with cold fries. ( You would see food sitting on the pass for 15 minutes just being ignored by the waiting staff) You would expect the Mexican restaurant to be excellent - it is appalling with very few items on the menu all served in stone bowls. ( The food for the Mexican night was excellent) The entertainment is a mainly in front of the beach bar where there is very little seating and those which are available are stained and dirty. Most people sit on a wood planter around the palm trees. The acts are ok but nothing special. For example an hour and a half of a violin player appeals to very few people but certainly sends people off to bed early which seems to be the main goal. The evening bar is totally lacking in atmosphere and whilst it has a stage is only used if the weather is bad. It's like they don't want you to go there.

We always have a great time at EDM. This was our 3rd time staying in the Honeymoon Suite (Room 741) and it's got everything we need, plenty of space, a huge balcony and a water view. We used to request buildings 3-5 but now that the palm trees have grown so tall we request the buildings a little further back. We always request a top floor room and while this does mean 3 flights of steps, it also means a fantastic view. Plus we don't mind burning off a small portion of all of the great food and drinks. All of the restaurants are solid and we typically eat at Papitos for breakfast and also for some lunches. You're in for a treat if you get Arturo as your waiter as he is going to take good care of you and keep you smiling. When it's time to spend time doing what we're really there for, hanging out on the amazing beach, we look for Armando as he is hands down the best beach butler we've experienced at any El Dorado resort. The swing bar on the beach was closed for 3 days while we were there due to construction, but when it's open, Felipe is a great bartender. Also, if you head to Bar 24 for a drink or some snacks, Salome always takes good care of everyone and her memory of drink orders is incredible. If you have time for a massage at Naay Spa, do yourself a favor and ask for Whilmer. We did the elements dinner at Palafitos one night and our waiter Martin was one of the best waiters we've ever had. Great presentations during dinner and he even walked us around the restaurant and the different rooms which was neat to see. Our butlers this trip were Victor and Barnabe and they were both very attentive and responsive. We had actually had Victor 4 years before and he remembered us which is incredible. Lastly, I have to talk about our absolute favorite employee at EDM, Augustine. Augustine seems to do it all and with such a great attitude. He is typically at Papitos managing the breakfast/lunch crews, but he also does tequila tastings in the afternoons which is not to be missed, he managed the crew for our members dinner one night, and a few years ago he even managed our in room dinner in one of the beachfront villas. This man is the hardest worker at the resort and he does it all with a smile. We'll be back next month and can't wait to taste some more tequila with Augustine!

We enjoyed the friendly staff including leobardo at the second pool and Luis at the Tackaria was amazing and made such wonderful food! Armando at breakfast always creates us with a smile and a warm greeting. Daniel at the beach helped us always with drinks and wonderful service. We took advantage of the spa here and had a wonderful massage by Herbert suggested by Brian who was so friendly. We would highly recommend staying at this resort

We just got back from an 8 day trip at El Dorado Maroma. The staff here is the best I have ever encountered not to discount the staff at any of the other resorts we have stayed at. This will be our 5th trip to the Cancun side of Mexico where we have stayed at Secrets or Paradisus resorts. The beach here is stunning one of the best we have seen with white sand and shallow turquoise water. The food was amazing and they catered to our every vegetarian needs. Our room was large with everything we needed, cleaned daily by the amazing housekeeping staff with water and snacks refilled daily as well. It is a smaller quieter resort where the staff know you at every restaurant and start anticipate your preferences. By the end of our trip it truly felt like home, we will definitely be returning here in the future. I would like to shout out Arturo, Juan, Daniel, and Leobardo however I could literally write down every staff members name that worked there as they were all above and beyond amazing. Thank you for a lovely stay. The only thing I should mention outside of the staffs control or anyone’s is the wind this last week was significant at the Cancún side up and down the coast, we spoke to several couples on our flight home who confirmed that it was extremely windy all the way to tulum just fyi.

This resort is as beautiful as the pictures. The service is exceptional and the staff is amazing! Artuo and Armando were top notch. The pool and beach staff including Kevin, Alex, Jerico and Marco were beyond great! They all made us feel like family. Especially Osvaldo. We will be back.

Just returning from a five night honeymoon getaway. We loved how small this resort is… Easy to walk to restaurants, and all of the pools are centrally located. Food: every meal we had was delicious… From room service breakfast, to taco snacks at the taco stand to more formal dinners…...

Just returning from a five night honeymoon getaway. We loved how small this resort is… Easy to walk to restaurants, and all of the pools are centrally located. Food: every meal we had was delicious… From room service breakfast, to taco snacks at the taco stand to more formal dinners… Everything was amazing! Note for room service… I’m sure mornings are busy, so plan ahead for 45 - 1 hour turnaround time. Best to order early so it doesn’t delay you getting out the door in the morning. Note for reservations… Perhaps because we weren’t there on a busy week, but certain restaurants were closed certain nights so we had to plan ahead with the concierge for reservations. One night the concierge booked us at a restaurant and we arrived only to find it was closed. However, we never had an issue walking up to a restaurant and getting a table, even if we did not have a reservation. We loved the quiet atmosphere… There were daily fun activities at the pool, but we preferred the quiet relaxation at the beach and the smaller pool. The evening entertainment, and live music outside was something fun to do after dinner, as opposed to a nightclub or party scene. I read that Rick‘s bar is a popular after dinner karaoke event… And sad we missed it One night, There was a Mexican fiesta that was scheduled for the beach, but moved indoors due to high winds. The entertainment was amazing! Attaching pictures. “More Inclusive”: it’s a great perk that the resort is next-door to the marina and Maroma Beach club… You have free access to the waverunners, scheduling a snorkeling trip on catamaran, and so much more. (See lomas tours office on site to schedule) It also gives you Free access to the lunch buffet next-door… Where we had the best pizza ever! Recommend: paying extra for the Camel tour! The guide Giuseppe was so fun and our photos are hilarious! BEACH: this truly is one of the most beautiful beaches. We visited in Mexico. I don’t know if this resort trucks in sand, but it was pristine! There happened to be a lot of seaweed the week we were there, but it was not a bother at all, and we were able to get in the water with no reservations. They had work crews out every morning, raking the seaweed and maintaining the beach. One morning, we walked south to check out the beaches at two neighboring resorts and noticed the significant difference. One resort in particular that’s under a prestigious international hotel name had such a disappointing beach compared to this one. EDM really is the nicest beach in the area! BEACH CHAIRS AND BEDS: Go see the staff at the hut closest to the beach bar and they will assist you with towels, selecting chairs, and the bungalow beds. We never had a difficult time getting chairs or a bed. This isn’t one of those resorts where people rush early in the morning to throw their items down and claim a chair. People seemed to come and go throughout the day And we had no difficulty getting a spot. My favorite was to start in the lounge chairs, walk down the beach, and then when we got too much sun, move to the beds. Those were the most relaxing with the nicest breeze blowing in. SPA: splurge for the spa! It’s so nice and the massage was one of the best I’ve had. They have a whirlpool room with a cold plunge and hot tub. It’s a great place to hang out for the afternoon. TO AVOID: the only disappointment was our interaction with our concierge- being misled and lied to! Take CAUTION when you meet with your concierge to set up your dinner, reservations, excursions, etc. She LIED and tricked us: because this was our first visit to the resort, she invited us on a special tour of the Palafitos bungalows, and a special breakfast at the restaurant in that area so that we could tour those rooms for possible future bookings. She also offered us a $150 resort credit towards our camel tour since it was our first visit to resort. We were excited to tour Palafitos, as we hope to come back in the future and stay in one. When we arrived the following morning at the scheduled time, instead of taking us to the restaurant for breakfast and the tour as she promised… She walked us to another office by the main lobby, where we were turned over to employees to sit down for a “presentation” … we were stunned and quickly learned we had been tricked. This apparently was a deceptive way of getting us to attend a marketing presentation about their timeshare or membership club. We politely said no, made it very clear We had not been notified of any such meeting, and that we were disappointed she had misled us… the concierge attitude quickly changed where she told us we would not be eligible for the breakfast, and that she would cancel our resort credit. In researching comments in a Facebook group about this resort, I found several others to have had the same experience with their concierge, tricking them into attending membership, information meetings… And apparently there is some sort of financial incentive for them to recruit guests …. We were really disappointed to have been lied to and deceived, and the promise of a tour and resort credit towards excursions to be so quickly taken away . In the future… We will avoid the concierge staff! The Resort Staff: We chose not to let our negative experience with the resort concierge influence our opinion of everyone else-Because everyone else was amazing! From the housekeeping staff, to the room service food delivery team, to the wait staff and everyone else… Customer service is top-notch and everyone is so genuinely friendly.

Service in the four restaurants was very good. 2) Beach and water were beautiful 3) If you like a smaller and more quaint resort, this place is good. 4) Servers were friendly and quick. The Bad: 1) Too much pressure to become a member. 2) They are always trying to sell you something/upsell - The Spa, Parfafitos restaurant (extra charge), the Fiesta party "table for 2 closer for an extra charge". 3) This resort caters to the members. They get the better service and rooms as they should but everything the staff says is followed by "if you are a member"... Example, want a reservation to Parfitos restaurant? As a member (or attend the seminar) you can otherwise it's $200 per couple. At one of the 4 inclusive restaurants, "would you like surf and turf?"....are you a member? If not, it's an upcharge. 4) Get ready for a last minute room change. Spoke to two other couples and they said the same thing. The day before we go an email saying the room we promised was not available but another one in a different part of the resort is available. The new room is not in a prime location like you booked i.e. beach view, first floor, etc. - THEN COMES THE BAIT AND SWITCH. "we have an upgraded room reserved for members but can be yours for $X more". This can all be tiring, discouraging to hear. Lastly, I got the stomach bug one day and lasted 24 hours. We cancelled the jet skis and Parafitos (as I could not be far from the bathroom!). Upon checkout they said we didn't cancel with 24 hours notice and charged us full pricing for both. I told them we canceled, they told us the 24 hour rule or have a doctors note and wouldn't budge or meet us half way. - great customer service

At El Dorado Maroma you need not worry. I was blown away by the care and attention each of the restaurants took to make sure they delivered food suitable for my needs. They were more than happy to even cook special meals not on the menu. The hotel itself was beautiful. Spotlessly clean with beautiful grounds full of interesting tropical plants. We had a huge room with plenty of towels and toiletries, hammock, cuddle chair and table and chairs on the big balcony. Our bathroom featured a jacuzzi bath, twin sinks, separate toilet cubicle and two showers, one outdoors. There were lots of activities during the day including cooking demonstrations, painting, aquafit, volleyball and salsa lessons. At night there was a variety of entertainment including a rock band, silent disco and a country band. There are a few people I would like to mention but I can honestly say that everyone is there to make sure you get the holiday of a lifetime and will go out of their way to help. Special thanks to Marco, Alex , Jerik and Oswaldo for keeping me amused and ro Itzel for our spotless room, even finding us a kettle instead of trying to make tea in the Nespresso machine in our room. Thank you to all of the waiters, one was called Angel but you are all Angels to me. This was a special holiday for us, celebrating our silver wedding and you all made it memorable.

Pool volleyball was the best because of Kevin. It was very fun and very competitive and overall this resort is very beautiful and the service is amazing. The staff really treat everyone like family and go out of their way to help everyone with anything they need.

We chose it as the second half of our trip for a more private, romantic, relaxing vibe. Overall a beautiful location on this private gorgeous beach with fun water excursions included in our stay. It was so green with trees and flowers everywhere. Great servers/bartenders and yummy food! The best taqueria for lunch by the pool, must have! When we first checked in we didn’t get all the information so we were a little lost. We came down to the front to ask questions as we couldn’t get ahold of anyone on the phones with both front desk or concierge. We then realized the next morning we still were lost & then they gave us a QR with restaurant times, menus, events happening on site..and introduced to our concierge to make dinner reservations. So make sure you get that aok upon check in! We did mention it was our honeymoon when asked upon check in. The second day we asked if they do anything special for it & they told us that they normally decorate the room with roses etc. We told them ours had not been decorated but we would enjoy that. It then became a situation for the next few days. There was a lot of miscommunication among staff and then it seemed they tried to blame us for not informing them or answering the door when we were showering. The service with front/concierge regarding the situation was not great. We were stressed & frustrated after many things happening that we ended up speaking with Jared the manager. It wasn’t until multiple interactions & until our last night stay where it was rectified. I truly think he was trying to help but it was how they handled it the days leading up and us feeling let down from the get go. This plus being lost for the beginning of our stay due to no info given to us and not being able to get ahold of anyone was frustrating. Our transportation with Lomas travel and other staff around the resort was great, definitely want to reiterate that service all around was still friendly and helpful. Hoping the negative part of our experience isn’t a regular occurrence for other people!

What a lovely, amazing place to vacation. The beach is amazing. Every day Manuel took great care of us assisting us in getting a cabana and making sure the fabulous waitresses knew if we were thirsty (though it is so close to a pool bar that it was also fun to go visit there as well). The view from Lima Limon as you eat breakfast outside is one that made us get up for breakfast at 7 a.m. to ensure we didn’t miss a minute. Lima Limon was probably my favorite restaurant, not only for the view but the great service and great food. My favorite meal was the deep fried sushi and the beef in peanut sauce. We would usually ate lunch at Pepitos as my husband loves octopus. The Carribean Grill is lovely to eat outside and the Cornish Hen with apple sauce as a side is delic. I am not a big Italian fan but my Osso Buco (beef not veal) was the best. And they had swordfish one night…a very yummy treat as we cannot get it fresh or properly cooked in Eastern Canada. We enjoyed Mexican Night on the beach and splurged spending $100 in booze to have the table for two. We are on vacay to enjoy each other and though we enjoy chatting with others, we like our alone time and to have this option was perfect. And a great view of the show. And fabulous service by Antonio. We booked a couple’s beach massage but unfortunately it was during the volleyball game (at 11 a.m.) so avoid that time. The spa did offer a free facial for compensation which I thought was quite kind, but as I was there to hang with hubby I declined the kind offer. We had breakfast at the Palofitos and will definitely have another meal there upon our return. We were booked in a swim out and ended up in Building 12. Though many love the quietness of this building, we had anticipated the main pool so had initial disappointment upon arrival but Fernanda handled our disappointment very well and was able to secure us one of the best swimout in the resort (well, we think…lol). My husband also has mobility issues so being in Building 12 was very difficult to return to after a long, enjoyable day. Before moving to the main pool swimout, we spent some time at Bar 24. Francisco and Betsabe were fabulous. Francisco had a fresh drink made for your before your last one was gone! And of course, one always had to have a cocktail or two at the main bar. Misael took great care of us daily. Though my husband has mobility issues (muscle issues) he was welcome to try the pool volleyball by the activity person and he enjoyed himself immensely and I am so thankful that he was able to do something like that with the encouragement of staff (and the players). In the pool I guess you are weightless and don’t need muscles. Last, but clearly not least, we were thankful for our butlers Josselin and Antonia. Seriously, those ladies were on top of everything and were quick to respond on WhatsApp. We last minute wanted to change from Carribbean Grill due to the stairs and within 20 minutes Antonia had switched our reservation to something safer for my husband. We have already booked our return with a swimout (fingers crossed for main pool). We are lucky that we have travelled the world and we can honestly say that El Dorado Maroma is in our top 5 of our favorite places to vacation. We truly feel lucky to have met the amazing people who work at this resort and cannot say enough about the fabulous service. See you all again in March. Maggie and Frank

We had a great stay. The staff is very attentive, always going above and beyond. The location is beautiful and they have several excursions that are included with your stay. You can visit the buffet next door, the water park at Nickelodeon, a cenote excursion, catamaran/snorkeling excursion, and rescue animal tour all included with your stay. The food is the best we have ever had at a resort and we have been to several different brand resorts. We stayed in a junior suite and the room was huge. We were on the third floor and had a partial view of the ocean. The housekeeping was done daily, as well as turn down service. The room was kept immaculate. The entertainment staff does their best to get people involved in activities. They offer cooking classes, volleyball, pool volleyball, trivia around the pool, painting activities, water aerobics, and tequila tastings during the day. We had a lot of interaction with Jerick and the whole entertainment group did a good job during the day. That being said the resort is geared toward couples and there is not a lot of participation in some of the physical activities or at least the week we were there. Nightly shows were mainly live music and all of them we went to were good. You will get great service from the wait staff whether around the pool or at the ocean. They are always making rounds getting anyone the drink of their choice. We had Ana several days around the pool and swim up bar area. The beach bar staff is very good as well whether day or night. The resort has top shelf whether looking for tequilas, bourbons, vodka or liquor of your choice. Beers they had were Tacate, Dos Equis, Boeheim and Coors Light. The pool and beach concierge will adjust your umbrellas and get you whatever you need. Be sure to see Bryan as he is walking around to get your complimentary massage. We also used him in scheduling our massages at the spa. The restaurants had the best food we have ever had at a resort, I would pay money to go have these meals at restaurant at home. We never had a bad meal breakfast, lunch or dinner. We ate at every restaurant except the Palafitos, there is an upcharge to eat there. We did hear it was very good. The tacos at Tequiria for lunch were great as well and we ate there several days since it was quicker and we could get back to the beach and pool. The staff at this resort helps to make this resort and one of reasons that I heard several people say they return. I feel guilty that I did not write all of the staffs names down and call them out on this review, because they all deserve a shout out. Several of the guests we talked to said they have been this resort multiple times. We don't visit many resorts more than once. We can say that we will be back to El Dorado Maroma, hopefully soon!!

We had another amazing experience at El Dorado Maroma that started with our transportation from the airport to the resort. Martin, our driver provided a smooth ride with friendly conversation. Our butlers, Israel and Enrique did an outstanding job to make sure all our requests were addressed. We've known Israel a few years now and is a key reason we return again and again. As always, the overall experience is made that much better with the friendly resort staff such as: Beach butler Rene; Lima Lemon waiters Angel and Elisio; Papitos waiter Alexander and Mio waiter Bertin, all made us feel welcome and appreciated as guests. A special thanks to our friends from Palafitos, Raphael, Alberto and Octavio who checked on us to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. We opted for dinner at Palafitos one night and Marlene took very good care of us. We love the spa with the relaxing and regenerative care of Eva and Cielo. We came away with each massage feeling 10 yrs younger !! Our 10 day stay was topped off with an incredible 'in-suite' dinner. Chef Edilberto and assistant Arturo cooked up a 5 star meal. Everything was high quality in taste and presentation. Last but not least was our Housekeeping employee of the month.... Isidoro !! He made every day feel like our first. The room was impeccable and spotless. He clearly took pride in his work and arrived every day with a big smile and enthusiasm. We can't wait for our next visit.

El Dorado Maroma was amazing! We loved everything about this resort. There was always something to do. Kevin, apart of the entertainment, was very friendly and helpful for us. I would definitely recommend this resort and we will be returning.

We are back here this is my number 5time we love so much here in spacial do the activities with the staff jerik, Marco, osvaldo, Kevin, dj Chris and Alex, we really enjoy play volleyball too. The food and drinks still very good the rest of the stuff amazing.

We had a great vacation at the el dorado Maroma beach the entertainment team was great! All activities were fun, Marco, Jerik, Osvaldo, Kevin, DJ Chris and Alex were all fantastic. Our favorite activities were the cooking class and the pool aerobics class. we will definitely come back!

This is our 5th annual visit to this wonderful resort, as Diamond Elite members of Exotic Travelers. We always stay in the Beachfront Villa. Simply put, the hotel is small and perfectly located on the best beach around, and the staff is why we return, year after year. From the moment you are picked up at the airport by Lomas Travel (huge shout-outs!), the vacation experience is first class and equal to none other. The hotel management is truly special, and they make their guests feel at home from the beginning. They do their absolute best to leave no detail overlooked, and try their hardest to make sure every guest is treated with respect, kindness, and dignity. They KNOW hospitality here. As mentioned before, the staff is EVERYTHING at this resort, and we are greeted with smiles, hugs, and warmth every time we return to this resort. Here are the staff members we interact with during our stay, and every one is worth mentioning! Our butlers, Alex and Victor, we would not know what to do without your personal touch and unwavering service. Marco, Jerik, Kevin, Osvaldo and Alex were a lot of fun and very energetic with the volleyball and all their activities my wife and I appreciated it a lot and had lots of fun.

We are very experienced travellers having travelled to all the continents and our modus operandi is to travel independently. This was our first all inclusive. Having given you our background we now wanted to share our experiences at the El Dorado Maroma. On so many levels this experience exceeded our expectations… - upgraded amenities - cleanliness - quality of the food - well equipped gym which I used daily - the services and activities offered - size and quality of our room - multiple options to lounge by various pools and numerous beach side loungers and cabanas Having said all that it’s the people and the staff at the Maroma that made our stay so lovely and relaxing. Money can buy, fix, solve all of the previous items I listed but money can’t buy genuine staff that greet you with a generous smile and hello, staff that put in the effort to make sure you stay is incredible and staff that care about your well being. Shout out to the Social Media Ambassadors: Marco, Jerik, Osvaldo, Kevin, DJ Chris and Alex I know I will forget a few names (apologies) but also thanks to Janita and Daniel at the Taqueria, waiters Jesus, Eliseo, Erick, the ice cream staff, the friendly spa staff greeting me every time I came to use the gym. Christian Melendez, Diego and Salome the bartender, Armando the beach butler, Betsabe the beach cocktail waitress, our butlers Isreal and Alex. And all the unsung heroes of the resort from the cleaning staff, room services and guys hauling the seaweed every day all day. Bottom line… great experience. One I would recommend to anyone interested. And one I will definitely seek out in the future. Mucho gusto everyone at Maroma!

We just returned from May 26th to June 2nd trip to Maroma to visit eveyone. Enrique and Israel were our butlers. Bernie, Eli and Victor and Julieta and Hans and Alex were all there as well. Henry and Alberto were our bellmen. Miguel made a change to our reservation and did a great job for us after they said it could not be done over the phone.. Jasmin and Julie at reception were great as always. Carlos is always smiling and happy to see us. Raphael, our beach Butler and Felipe ponce, the Butler at bar 24 and the main pool. We've known forever always happy. Arturo and Augustino and Frenanda and Andres at Palitos. Jesus and Leonardo at Mio. Juliana and the girls at the front desk at Spa. Our in suite dinner chef Alberto and Jose. Our housekeeper and our morning coffee men. But Israel our main butler we are always impressed with the service and care. Amazing Resort. Both the drinks and food were the best I've ever had at a resort. What really sets this resort apart is the staff, they are all wonderful. David helped check us in and was really helpful the entirety of the trip. We did the 5k running daily activity (it was not 5k), which was an amazing 3k run on the beach (~1.8 miles). During the run, Macro suggested a Kayak snorkel trip to a cenote. We then got a private snorkel trip with 1 other couple to the cenote and saw many fish. We also did Yoga one morning, best Yoga instructor I've ever had. There are 2 pools, a small pool and a large pool with swim up rooms. Both pools have a bar. For some reason, the small pool was very busy. The Beach was amazing. Never had an issue finding a place to sit or a daybed to use. The Mio was our favorite restaurant. They have a giant parmesan wheel and bring fresh parm to your table. We did the More Inclusive Snorkel Catamaran trip, it was very fun. The trip takes off from the Marina next to the resort. They give you access to the brunch for free. It was an amazing brunch buffet, and one of my favorite meals of the trip. So much local food. The catamaran has plenty of room. The first stop we all jumped from the bow into the water and snorkeled for about 30-45 minutes. We immediately saw a sea turtle, and it swam in between the group and got extremely close, Amazing! Then we saw all sorts of beautiful fish and coral. The second stop, was more of a choice to snorkel, swim, drink, or just soak up the sun on the boat. It was really nice just swimming and enjoying the sea. The onsite Lomas rep was able to book us a free ride to the airport. Our travel agency was leaving too early (6 hours before the flight), and this helped optimize our departure day. Be very careful in the airport. The Eden Skincare store charged our credit card for a ridiculous amount of money without approval. Do not hand anyone your credit card like in the states, they are out to max it. Currently disputing the charges. We agreed to buy some creams, and they did a bait and switch scam and ran the card multiple times without asking and refused to do anything about it. We definitely wanted to come back until our experience at the airport. But Eden scamming us out for a ton of money left a horrible end to the trip, and our safety is very important. Unsure if we will go back to Mexico, but if we ever do it will definitely be El Dorado Maroma.

He went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time every evening, and it really made a difference in our overall experience. El Dorado Maroma is a beautiful paradise. The beach is delightful, the bars are open all day, and the restaurants serve multiple courses at every meal. If you want peace and relaxation, this is the place to go. The entertainment crew made it so fun!
