Every winter we travel to the Caribbean a few times to get out of the cold of New York and relax. Over the last several years we have stayed at adults only all inclusive hotels on various islands. We have stayed at Sandals, Secrets, Iberostar Grande and RUI. This is our first experience with the Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana and, so far, it is fabulous. The faculty is beautiful, from the lobby, the pools, the beach and most of all our club level one bedroom master suite. The suite is spacious, decorated beautifully and has an incredible view of the ocean. All employees at the hotel have been friendly and accommodating. I MUST especially thank Ermis in reservations. I had made my reservation online but had some questions. I called direct to the hotel and, luckily, was connected to Ermis. She answered all of my questions and, after I told her specifically what we wanted, recommended we change to the suite we currently have. She followed up to make sure everything went smoothly and was”right in” with her recommendation. Very few people take the interest and truly seem to want to help like Ermis. She is one of a kind.

We just returned from 8 days at the Hyatt Zilara, Cap Cana. This was our second visit. It is a beautiful hotel with every amenity you can think of. The beach is like walking on baby powder. The pools are great as well. The gym is as good as any elite gym that you have at home. The trainers, Patric, Jose, Raul and Bavaro are all there to help you train and are as nice as can be. While being at the pool a lot of the day the entertainment staff is engaging and super friendly. They try their best to get everyone involved in activities. A big shout out to Bryan, Amado and Dionedes for a great job. Also Juan at Archery was also fun and instructional enough that I was able to hit the target within 3 arrows. Now I know that I won't starve in the wild. LOL We've been to several all inclusive resorts before but without a doubt the Hyatt Zilara has the best food of all. The buffet is great and so are the restaurants. Waves, Brando's, Shutters and Chinola are our favorites. Being Hyatt Club members allowed to have breakfasts in Shutters and Chinola which were great. Fathoms above any other all inclusive resort you'll find. Our last night we had dinner in Chinola and Francesca our server was fantastic. She was sweet, accommodating and totally professional. She made our meal even better than it was. The same can be said for the restaurant's hostess, Ana. It's always nice to be remembered by name upon your return to the resort and the restaurant and Ana did both. Hope to see them both again next year. Also Juan, our waiter at Shutters and Manuel our server at the Mercado buffet were pleasant and professional. Last our butler Larissa was always there for us. She was around all day with a big smile to offer her services if they were needed. She did a great job, thank you Larissa.

Absolutely gorgeous resort with wonderful food. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and modern. Restaurants were beautiful, great service, and wonderful food. The staff was so accommodating, and nice. Drinks were cold, and plentiful. We stayed in the club, and loved it

The Hyatt Zilara is adults only. We have been to Punta Cana 8 other times and stayed at other resorts including Secrets Cap Cana. The main pro of the hotel: BEST food in punta Cana hands down. Also the gym is a state of the art facility. The spa is very nice and has hydrotherapy, sauna and steam rooms included with your massage. We paid to be club level (VIP) rooms. This gives you access to premium drinks. The problem is that there is no club/premium drinks at the beach. Actually there is only one pool bar and one lobby bar that serve the premium drinks. You had to walk from the beach to one of these bars just to get a drink. Other resorts we stayed at with club vip service have a dedicated/reserved beach area, chairs and beach bar w premium drinks. Also there are no activities/venues past 11pm. We thought that because it was adults only we would have nightly late entertainment or music. There is a small sports bar that opens later than 11pm but serves very cheap drinks. The shows were very tacky and not well organized.

Exceeded our expectations. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. There are so many great food options. The gym is incredibly well appointed with equipment. We especially loved the exercise classes with Raul. The entire staff is just excellent.

Upon entering the lobby you have a direct view of the ocean. An amazing lobby. The employees greet you with smiles and kind words. All looking professional dressed properly in their uniforms. It is clear that they are there to help you feel welcomed and attended to. The restaurants are beautifully decorated and the food is very good with a nice variety. The grounds are impeccable. Filled with vibrant, healthy trees, bushes and flowers. The pools are awesome. There is an abundance of lounges with bright orange towels. There is plenty of ocean front. Also with many lounges. You are never without a drink of some sort. There are many servers walking throughout the pools and beach area. A lot of the people we spoke to told us it was their third time there and we quickly found out why. We went the last week in February and will return again within that timeframe.

What a wonderful experience. The location is spectacular, the staff- in particular Amado was friendly, energetic and helpful. Jose from the Club pool bar was personable and always happy- Domingo set up our chairs and umbrellas at the beach daily. Truly everyone on staff greeted you with a smile. Our favorite restaurant was Noodle and Thread. The buffet was great for breakfast and lunch!! We loved that it was an all inclusive- many selections for drinks and meals! The entertainment was plentiful. The facilities were always clean and towels were always being replenished. I would absolutely return and the next time with my family- they can stay on the family side and we can stay on the adult side and together we could have a memorable vacation!!

What a great experience at Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana! From the transportation to and from the airport, to the great service from our concierge Larisa R, it was a 10/10 experience. We spent 6 nights in the Club Level which allowed us access to premium beverages and restaurants, along with swim up pool and concierge service. Apart from some short periods of rain (10-15 minutes) a few times during our stay, everything was incredible. After walking up and down the beach you can tell It’s definitely the best beach front in Cap Cana. The water is clear and calm, and the Hyatt has a very attentive staff at the beach. Amenities were top notch, although I think the Zilara (adults) side was better overall for amenities and restaurants than the Ziva (kids side). The food was very fresh, and while it may sound like the buffet is self service it’s hardly that. You basically have made to order service at more than 5 stations, including a vegan station. Thank you again to Larisa and the staff for making it an incredible trip!

Lovely, clean resort; attentive & friendly staff. Diomedes and Manuel encouraged daily, fun participation in offered activities. Amando was open to hearing my feedback re: more activities for Zilara guests. Rated 4/5 as our expectation was a ‘cruise-like’ experience on land. Highly recommend trying all included amenities, activities during stay.

The Hyatt made us feel like family! We would definitely go back! Clean resort and good food! A few staff members really stood out to us: Alfoncina, Juan and Roberto from the Marea Club Bar were THE BEST. I already miss Alfoncina. Also Ramon from The Pier buffet breakfast was so kind, sweet and attentive. The coffee bar was the best out of all the resorts I have stayed at. If I had one critique it was that some of the restaurants would randomly close for a night so it was a little hard to plan for dinners. Staff at beach were so willing to help set up chairs, towels and umbrellas for us. I love the genuine smiles and warm gestures by staff with their hands on their hearts. So endearing and I wanted to just hug everyone.

This was my first time traveling to DR and I was so happy to enjoy a wonderful five-day vacation here with my girlfriend in the beauty of the Caribbean Sea and beaches. We chose the Hyatt Zilara All-Inclusive Resort (Adults Only), and it was an amazing experience. They prioritize cleanliness, and the rooms were spotless, which is important. Hyatt Zilara offers plenty of pool space and few hot tubs, also the variety of restaurants and food options is impressive. I love seafood, and this place didn't disappoint.There were plenty of seafood choices, all fresh and clean. There also a BBQ station by the pool, so whenever you got hungry in the afternoon while at the beach, don't have to worry about what to eat. You could order some snacks or grab a nice sandwich from the café in the lobby too. The gym here is spacious, well-maintained, and fully equipped, even offering various workout classes. In addition to the gym, there are also outdoor and water activities. I tried sailing, it was an incredible experience! The resort has professional staff who teach you how to handle the sailboat, so even if you have no experience, they guide you through everything and ensure your safety. This was truly an unforgettable vacation.

My boyfriend and I had an incredible week at Hyatt Ziva & Zilara Cap Cana. This trip was all about relaxation, and this resort delivered in every way! We visited almost all the restaurants, and each one was excellent. The Italian restaurant was a bit noisy, but we loved the quieter, more relaxed atmosphere at the restaurants on the Zilara (adults-only) side. Special shoutout to some amazing staff members who made our stay even better—Mayreni, our fantastic poolside server; Jomalin from the entertainment team; Freddy from Blind Butcher; and our incredible butler, Osiris, who checked in on us daily to ensure we had everything we needed. During our stay, we took full advantage of everything the resort had to offer—dining at the Blind Butcher, enjoying the water park, working out at the well-equipped gym (one of the best resort gyms we’ve seen!), relaxing in the Preferred Club and Preferred restaurants, indulging in a romantic beach dinner, and even going on an off-site snorkeling adventure. The beach was simply stunning—powdery white sand and bright turquoise water that felt like paradise. We really appreciated the flexibility of being able to enjoy activities on the family-friendly Ziva side while still having the peaceful retreat of the adults-only Zilara section to return to. Throughout our entire stay, we felt completely safe, and every staff member we encountered was warm, friendly, and accommodating. There were plenty of activities for all ages, making this resort a fantastic option for couples, families, and groups alike. We had such a wonderful time and will definitely be coming back!

Thanks to Amado and Manuel, Rondel from the check in, Richy, Alexis was fun and helpful with our bags and Jose M from the pier for upgrading my sandwiches! You guys made our stay unforgettable! We will definitely be back for a longer stay! The resort had great food and you can also go to the Ziva to eat their restaurants as well! The blind butcher was definitely better than i thought and a great experience a lot shows and a lot of food comes included with the price! Others might say it’s too much but i thought it was great! My wife did the Spa and she says it was the best she ever had! Literally everything was great and the only thing we just didnt like much and we just being picky was the vanilla ice cream… the buffet is not your typical buffet they got picaña and a lot of good quality meats and top tier foods! Also the restaurants are even better like Brandos and Waves the Steak House! We don’t exercise but their gym was 24/7 and it was HUGE and thats where you cross to Ziva if needed. I completely loved it, its definitely worth it and cant wait to be back!

I just returned from a wonderful first stay at Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana with my husband, best friend from high school and his husband. From beginning to end, we enjoyed every minute of our stay at this beautiful resort! We arrived before our room was ready so relaxed at the club bar with a welcome drink and then espresso martini (delicious!). After check in, the room was still not ready so we headed to shutters for a scenic lunch. We ran into Ramon at the rum tasting station who kindly walked us over to our lunch while giving us the lowdown on the hotel. He set us up with a dinner at the blind butcher, a Dominican lunch at the pier, and a beachside romantic dinner. We enjoyed every special experience! The blind butcher is pricy but we had a great time and the food was phenomenal-would recommend the seafood tower! Ramon was so sweet to us our entire stay. After lunch we were able to get into our room. We booked the club level junior suite and it was perfect. My engineer husband couldn’t get over how amazing the room set up was! The double-sided opening to the closet, the shower and bathroom open layout, the vanity set up for hair and makeup- it was all so well thought out. The room was extremely clean and the beds were very comfortable. My husband has never slept better in his life! The balcony views overlooking the resort were also stunning. Bathroom lighting was also on point lol. I do not think the rooms with the pools were necessary, we would not have used them but did enjoy the club level perks such as the extra bar and the pool club bar with nicer alcohol (for example don Julio tequila). The pier breakfast buffet was a highlight. Anthony at the egg station was always so friendly and made our egg sandwiches with love and care and a smile on his face! He also remembered our orders and we were only there for a 4 day stay. We also really enjoyed our lattes at the cafe bar. All of the staff members were so sweet and patient! The Hibachi restaurant was also a highlight. Italian was pretty good but lacked some seasoning and I would not recommend the pizza. However, would recommend the pizza at the pool that they bring around in personal sized boxes. They were delicious!!! I was worried about the reviews commenting on the house wine being subpar, as I tend to have a glass of wine with dinner. To get around this, I drank the prosecco and really enjoyed it. Would also recommend a visit to the one eyed cat for a cocktail and to enjoy the live music! The pools and hot tubs were large and clean. We used the main pool mostly and would walk to the club bar if we felt like having a more “special” drink. Otherwise, we were waited on very attentively by our waiter Danny when we rented a poolside cabana for the day. This was a highlight of our trip- service was impeccable and he was so sweet, we enjoyed talking to him! He reserved chairs for us the day after our cabana day as well and waited on us just as attentively, even without the cabana reservation. When we were in the pool, we got drinks from Leury, our favorite pool bartender! The gym was great. I wish we had more time to do more of the gym classes. There were multiple different rooms with lots of free weights, machines, or just space for yoga/stretching. A decent number of cardio machines too. We also did an Agua bike class with Bryan one day which we really enjoyed. We had the pleasure of meeting Amado at the pool and told us all about the activities of the day. We loved spending time with him and tried to find him each time we went by the pool. He was one of the most genuine people who was passionate about his home and the resort. He also was always in the know on what activities were going on around the resort. Our return trip did not disappoint! Staff still very friendly, you don’t feel crowded at the pool, beach, or restaurants. Special shout out to Manuel of the activities crew for remembering our names a year later and keeping the trip fun with different things to do.

Swim-up junior suite #5123: A very nice room. Spacious, very large bathroom with 2 sinks, vanity, and plenty of space for toiletries. Plenty of drawers and a closet for all the clothes I brought. Good lighting, and air conditioning was more than sufficient. Also had a ceiling fan which was lovely. Mini bar and snacks were restocked daily with beer, water, sodas, juice, granola bars, Pringles, and peanut M&M’s. The junior swim up suites have semi-private outdoor space, meaning you share steps and part of a patio with another room. (We woke up one morning to find our neighbor on our patio yelling and waving down her friend. 🙄 She disappeared quickly when we opened our sliding door.) To have a private patio, you’d need to book a master suite. Room Location positive: Our swim up suite had sun all day long, while some others did not. It had some privacy from palm trees and greenery. It’s in the middle of the resort so very quick and easy to get wherever we wanted to go. Room Location negative: The room was situated right between the theater and the lawn where entertainment was set up every night. So loud music from both directions between about 7-10pm every night. THE BEACH Absolutely gorgeous! This is what we are here for. Very wide beach and long enough to go for a short stroll. Nice palm trees provide some shade. Plenty of beach chairs, but could use more umbrellas (Why are there never enough umbrellas at these resorts?) The sand was white and soft as powder. Amazing. It was groomed every day. No seaweed issues. The beach was private and did not have a single solicitor. Shared beach with Secrets resort. There was a closed rope net and buoy system about 200 yards out in the water so you could float around on a raft and never worry about drifting out and getting lost at sea.😉The water was warm and shallow. You could walk all the way out to the rope without the water reaching above your shoulders. It was pretty perfect. WHAT WE LOVED - Gorgeous property. The size of the resort is large enough to explore but not too large to maneuver quickly and easily on foot. - Delicious food! We have stayed at many all inclusive resorts and this one had the best food of any one we stayed at in the Caribbean. And we are from NYC and Boston so we have a high bar for food 🙂. (The only all inclusive that topped this was a very high end and much more expensive place in the Maldives.) - Staff is very friendly and very attentive. No empty plates were ever left on our tables. Drinks were always refilled before they were empty. Everyone we walked by greeted us with a smile. Room service was brought quickly. When my hair dryer gave out, a new one brought promptly. - WiFi is good. Spotty at times but very good speed when connected. - Comfortable beach/pool chairs and unlimited towels. - No wrist bands at this resort WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE - I like to serve myself at the buffet. The food at the buffet was excellent. And I know that having staff serve us is more hygienic. I just prefer to serve myself - it’s faster and I can portion as I prefer. - Room could use a drying rack - a heated one would be top notch bc nothing dries in this humid climate. - A ceiling fan outside on our patio would have been awesome! (There was one inside the room, which we loved.) RESTAURANT REVIEWS Tempest - Asian (Dinner menu) Food was delicious, and the sake was good too. Excellent starters, soups, pokes, and sushi! My husband’s pork belly main was also excellent, but my entree was the only thing that wasn’t - the sweet and sour duck was very tough. Desserts were also “wow.” One thing was weird though - all of our food was brought out at the same time. Would have much preferred each course one at a time. Brando - French Polynesian 5 star. Fantastic! We had ceviche, carrot “tartare” and the fois grois starters. Mains were sea bass and Mahi Mahi. All fantastic. The desserts didn’t wow as much as the other courses, but overall, this was a hit. The best meal of the trip. Noodle and Thread - Italian The pear salad and tomato soup were excellent. The pasta dishes were decent but not wow. I ordered the salmon entree and the gorgonzola sauce was excellent, but unfortunately some mistake happened and it didn’t arrive to the table until 35 minutes after the rest of our food. My husband’s short rib was very good - he shared with me while I waited for my main. Like at Tempest, the meal pacing not right. A charcuterie board (that we didn’t know was coming - nice surprise), salad, and soup arrived together before we had drinks. Then the pasta and main entrees came together (at least my husband’s did). It would be better if each course arrived separately. Journeys - Indian The food was good, but not overly flavorful. Definitely not spicy. The meats were tender. Shutters - Peruvian Unfortunately I can’t review this restaurant because we didn’t get to eat there. I had planned to visit it on our last night at Zilara because Peruvian is my favorite, so was very disappointed to arrive there on Friday night and learn that they are closed on Fridays. It was a sad way to end the dining experience. Waves - Steakhouse Instead of eating at Shutters, we made our way to Waves. I had the grilled salad as a starter, which was delicious. I ordered the Tuna steak, which was cooked to order but a bit too salty for my taste. The baked potato side was good, but the corn on the cob wasn’t cooked so very hard to eat. I finished with the cheesecake which was very bland. Waves and Navigator - lunch menus We really enjoyed all the food we had at lunch at both places. Watermelon salad, Greek salad, pastor tacos were very good at Waves. Noteworthy at Navigator were the tostada and the golden tacos. Both atmospheres are also lovely - open air restaurants with a view of the ocean. Overall it was a really nice trip with very nice trip! Thank you so much to all of the staff!

Such a great place! The staff here are amazing! Wili Gonzales at the club pool helped my husband every morning and was so welcoming each morning. We had breakfast at Shutters each day and Bryan was a familiar face from 2 years ago. Gray and Jamie over at Chinola were also great and faces we remembered. The rooms were nice and clean. Food was good, we enjoyed Waves a few times. We can’t wait to go back!
