ABSOLUTELY AMAZING PLACE! LionsDive is NOT just a "TYPICAL BEACH RESORT." LionsDive is an exceptional, independently-owned Hotel that has deep roots on it's island home of Curacao.
We were very impressed by the waterfront location - which offers direct access to a coral reef just 100 feet off shore from the comfy beach chairs. We enjoyed open water swimming inside the breakwater almost everyday. There are a wide variety of lovely fishes to swim with just off shore. Ready for more?? Ocean Encounters offers a wide variety of diving and snorkeling experiences that depart directly from the resort. If you've NEVER dived or snorkeled, but would like to try, THIS IS THE PLACE! The coral reefs of Curacao rival those of better known (but over crowded) Aruba. To their credit, LionsDive sponsors an Reef Renewal project that is expanding the coral reefs of the island. Guests are invited to join a weekly tour of the coral nursery and see the successful results in person!
We selected LionsDive Beach Resort to stay FIT and ACTIVE during our vacation and we wanted to enjoy doing it! On a typical day, we had our cup of coffee as the sun came up, and then headed out for a guided hike to the nearby Salt Marsh to see the wild flamingos OR hit the beach for Yoga or Boot Camp After that, we could relax and have a buffet Breakfast at Hemingway's, only a few steps from our room.
If we decided to workout later in the day, there is a 50 meter lap pool and a State-of-the-Art Gym on the premises as well.
Ready to explore? There are FREE daily shuttle services to downtown (shopping, museums, local culture and historic architecture) and another to a local grocery store, for anything you want or need! The front desk can book you on a variety of island tours. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance of the Resort as well.
LionsDive Resort is an OUTSTANDING CHOICE for those who value health, fitness, environmental quality and the natural beauty of the Caribbean. I was inspired to paint several scenes including the lovely coconut palm tree outside of our balcony. I hope that you ENJOY YOUR STAY as much as we did!

Great location and beautiful grounds. It was nice to have so many options for restaurants to walk to at night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The beach area and views are beautiful. The only negatives was the king oceanfront was a little small. The pillows could use an upgrade and were not very comfortable. The seating in the room was also not very comfortable. We were short on things like kleenex, toilet paper, and a bath mat at times. Hot bathroom because there is not an exhaust fan but a window vent. We wanted to get a bigger room but they booked up many months in advance. They do have free surf safe lotion on the beach, ability to fill your water bottle every day at the towel station. Wait staff are available for drinks and snacks on the beach. There is a very pleasant and calm area for snorkeling. Even with some of the dislikes in our room, we were very happy that we stayed at Lions Dive. We loved to beauty of the beaches in Curaçao. The town of Williamstad is lovely and very close by to visit.

We discovered this hotel during our last stay in Curacao- we weren’t happy with the (other/different) hotel we stayed at on that trip. We came here for dinner and the staff was so lovely and the grounds were so pretty that we decided we would stay here the next time. Glad we did!

We just returned from two weeks at LIonsDive. It was a spectacular place. The beach was beautiful and sandy (no stones) and the water was warm. Even when two cruise ships are in port, there are plenty of beach chairs. Of course, to get a palapa, you need to get to the beach early, but there are plenty of semi-shady spots too. The resort grounds are clean and well-maintained. The restaurants on the resort are good, and there are plenty of options within walking distance on Mambo Boulevard, The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly and helpful. I will be staying here again when I return to Curacao.

Almost perfect with one problem. The beaches are beautiful, staff helpful, property very clean and well maintained restaurants nice. We splurged and went for a suite with a wraparound balcony. However if you get a room on the north side of the property you will be subjected to extremely loud dance music with a booming base until almost 2am on Friday. This is from a dance club not affiliated with Lions Dive. The noise made the glass doors on the balcony rattle. We were in Room 512 and called the front desk to complain. They said there was little they could do, but offered to move our room. This was not practical as it was after midnight. This is the only thing that prevented this review from being a 5. When we contacted the resort manager on email she did call us and met with us the next day to explain the situation, adding they were in legal action against the club. She offered her apologies and was very empathetic. PS we would definitely return, but would book a room on the other side of the resort.

More like a 4.5-- A very good place-- Low key, relaxed but very well laid out and very comfortable as far as rooms, etc. The beach and location is unbeatable and it has some wonderful ammenities (eg the beach bar). The other restaurants and breakfast only average

It was the best of times it was the worst of times…
First the good. The room was lovely. The view was great. The buildings and grounds are lovely and well kept.
There are multiple restaurants and they are all fine - at best.
The first night we ate at Chill. Which describes the physical setting and the servers attitude towards patrons. There were only 4 tables with people. The server took 10 minutes to get to us. I ordered a beer and 10 minutes later it came. We were there a long time, not because we were having fun, but because there was a “I’ll get to it when I want to kind of vibe.”
This was true of every restaurant at the resort and none more so than Hemingway’s. We wound up in a conversation with a local who said, “oh the people at Hemingways are famous for their rudeness.”
The two women who greeted us at breakfast could not have been more clear that they were annoyed to be dealing with us.
One of our dive guides said, “oh is just the local culture.”
Except, on our third day we discovered a mall with multiple restaurants right next door to Lionsdive. Every server we had was super responsive, welcoming, and helpful. And their food was far better than anything we ate at the resort -by a lot.
Our last day, we are checking out and they give us the final bill. My wife sits down and looks over it carefully and discovers that they charged us for our breakfast each morning, even though we had already paid for the breakfast included plan. When she pointed out, they seemed very casual about their response. Not in any way rude, but not the response expected when several hundred dollars in billing has been errantly added to your total. Seems like it happens all the time.
We picked Lionsdive because Ocean Encounters Dive shop had been recommended -and they are on property of Lionsdive. We Loved Ocean Encounters by the way.
We would return to Curacao but NOT Lionsdive.
